I have not read any of the Charlene Harris novels but I'm guessing that Sookie is some kind of fae. Alan and his writers are so clever --- recall the dialog Godric had with Lorena after she attacked Sookie.
Not verbatim here but something like "you play with her like a child would a dragonfly, pulling it's wings of..."
I've never participated in an online post - this is fun - thanks TB!

Since Maryann's not remotely human to begin with, I wondered for awhile there if Jason was gonna go all "Texas Chainsaw" on her. Didn't happen, oc, which left me thinking that maybe he'd head on back home and destroy that smelly, disgusting, whatever-it-was sitting smack dab in poor Sookie's front yard. That didn't happen either, alas.
Season 2 started with a bang, just hope it doesn't end with a whimper.

I so agree with your comments. I have watched ep 9 about a dozen times, mostly fast-forwarding to the parts with Eric. Is it possible to wear out a spot on your DVR? If so, that dream scene with Sookie and Eric is going to wear one. As for this episode, the only good thing is all the time I'm going to save by not rewatching it. Only the first few minutes with that touching Eric/Sookie dream. Luckily, its at the beginning, so easy to access and ignore the rest.
I've seen comments on another board that maybe Eric is manipulating Sookie's dreams. I don't think that is possible. Especially when she is in the car in daylight. Eric should be "dead to the world". (Great book!)

Last night's episode was the absolute worst, enough of the black eyed ppl already! I'm sooo sick of Maryann and Eggs, they both can take a long walk on a short pear!

I'm sick to death of Mary Anne. I hope she dies a miserable death, and soon!!
Otherwise, i can't complain. I love this show. I love the "new" Jason - he's hot. I don't know why you cut it by 15 minutes - was there something in there that the network wanted censored?

LOVED the first few minutes! Eric and Sookie have such an amazing chemistry! wow is all I can say. Please let some of books in where Bill is not such a "good" guy and let Eric and Sookie relationship be real for awhile. Let it be real not just a dream and not forced. I love them together!

When can we see the last of Maryann and that entire storyline?? and
Why are the episodes falling short of an hour?? this week 45 minutes - last week 53 minutes???

I love the Marianne story...and I am hoping since they cut last nights episode, they'll have the finale a little longer than an hour. That would be awesome!

BTW I also thought it was too short. Maybe the season finale will be 2 hours!!
I thought last night's episode was a breath of fresh air compared to all the seriousness and sadness to the week before's ep.
Had some definite hilarious moments mixed in with drama action and suspense. The first scene with Sookie and Eric was killer. I can't believe I fell for it again! I was shouting at the TV BAD BAD SOOKIE!
Anyway this episode meant in my mind to setup the last two episodes that was done superbly without giving away anything. They also have a couple off cliffhangers regarding Bill and the Queen and Hoyt Mama and Jessica.

You people are crazy if you think the Maryanne character is out of place. She is a phenomenal actor and if she IS Satan or his wife, or whatever, then that would be fantastic. It's funny how everyone is complaining about her character, when it's great and I can't wait to see how they defeat her. After all this is what the last episode is about, basically defeating her and also to see if Erica and Sookie have some passion going on. I used to watch the show for Sookie and Bill, But now my attention is on Eric...
He's the bes part of the show now. I hope they write more for his character.. Not in a way that over shadows the main characters, but just to give him and Sookie a fair shot at love. What will happen if Bill and Sookie break up? OMG, people are gonna lose their minds!

I think this episode was funny, the scene of Jason as the god... priceless.
