instead of all the scenes between maryann and sam and bill and jessica and royce and laf, I wanted more dialogue with eric....there could have been more detail about the whole thing with kidnapping laf and royce etc......maybe the last scene was meant for shock value but it would have been nice to see more lines from eric......

I have read all of Charlaine's books and they were fantastic. With her books she opened up the capabitlites for Alan Ball to really have more options with the story lines. i think it is fabulous. I know some may be disappointed by the changes. I for one was completely surprised that it was not Layfayette in the car.
Sookie looks terrific. Her hair has been lightened more. Bill trimmed his HUGE side burns which I find more appealing. Eric looks fantastic with his new look as well.
Looks like another great season!!! Can't wait for Next week!!!

Absolutely loved it! I was sitting here clapping my hands and whooping when I saw it wasn't Lafayette! AND when Bill told Sookie he loved her, I screamed! And I melted during the sex scene...wow...just wow!

yeah i agree its a big change, but the show isnt only about Sookie like the books. A lot is added but that is it. This is the only big change.

Bravo, Alan et al! Well worth the wait!
I wish this first episode of season 2 had been two hours long. I need my True Blood fix so much that I will watch this episode multiple times before next Sunday.
Great twist to the plot where Miss Janette is found in Det. Bellefleur?s car and not LaFayette as in the book series.
Bill and Sookie are so erotic together. Chemistry goes a long way?

Excellent, EXCEPT, Sookie is getting on my nerves. She's beginning to sound a little like Carrie to Mr. Big on Sex in the City, whining about EVERY LITTLE THING! Jeez, she needs to LIGHTEN UP!

This was an amazing first episode. It kept me on my seat until the final second. I am yearning for more and can not wait until next week. The writing for this episode was beyond fantastic, and I expect it to get better with the season.

I have read all the books and LOVE The books...However, the show is straying to far away from the books. I understand that some creative changes need to be made..but it should at least be recognizable.
Eric's short hair also looks awful.

I was so anxious for this season premiere. I absolutely loved this episode. I just cannot get enough of True Blood. I was shocked that Lafayette was still alive. I didnt think it was anyone else in Andys car. I am so happy Lafayette is still in this season I hope he is able to be in the entire season. It is hard to know it seems like everything you expect to happen doesnt. This series always keeps you on your toes and waiting for more. I love it.

Great episode! I must watch it again!! I am a little sad the Bill hesitated when Sookie asked him what else he is hiding, hopefully he was thinking about Bartlett and not the Queen's job for him. But overall, it was AWESOME!! So glad Lafayette is alive!!!!

I loved every second of it! I am so glad that Lafayette is still alive, although I don't know what Eric may do to him... The blurb showed him asking to be turned, I'd be ok with that, he'd still be with us!
By the way, was it me, or was Eric getting his roots done when he decided to come down and kick some redneck butt? That was funny...
Well, nothing to do now but hope the week goes fast to see Episode 2!!

OMG i wanted soo much more. I cant believe lafayette lived.
Beware but ima giv sum spoilers
I really like how they add so much more to the series but it doesnt stray away from the plots in the book. AMAZING JOB. I just wonder whats going to happen with Lafayette since he was actually the one in the car in the book. that was the only major change they did to the show but im not mad at them 
I think i know why Eric has him (and of course Pam is the one doing his hair). I think that he is there cuz they think he is the reason why the fat vampire is missing (of course no one knows that he is dead expect for Jason)
I luv Jessica! Even though she isnt in the books i still think she's great. And i want to see more PAM. She is great too. Of course whoever read the book knows who killed miss Jeanette (was that her name?)

GREAT SHOW! We wish it was a two hour episode!
Thank goodness Lafayette is still in the show!!! We hope he remains a part of the show.
We are so hooked on this show! We can't wait till next Sunday.
