Sunday night is just around the corner. Post reactions to the first episode of True Blood Season 2 HERE. When the fans speak, HBO listens. Your reactions just might make it on the air. To improve your chances of having your quote used on air, please be succinct and keep all 'full length' conversations in the episode thread. Thanks and happy watching!

I was bored with the 2nd half although I knew this was to set up for next season. I just hate it that a viking vampire was stuck playing yahtzee and missing all the action. True blood is the only reason I'm keeping HBO, if Eric becomes the villain behind Bill's kidnapping (although that would be too obvious), I am canceling my HBO. Truly, "I will rise up" was hundred times better than this confusing and soap-operaish finale.

The last episode WAS AWESOME. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Needed more Eric but every episode does... I did not like Maryann so I was happy at her fate! I feel so bad for Bill! Getting kidnaped...I know who did it because I read the books and Im pissed. And Jessica! Holy crap! Did not see that coming, but I understand her anger, but poor Hoyt... I'm itching for season 3 already. I hate cliffhanger endings...

>Perhaps Black people are the only ones who see these things and recognize these trends ? but that?s because these things, this trends, hurt. They disappoint. There?s an almost painful wrenching in your chest and you exchanges glances with a friend and say, ?Did you see that? Did you feel that?? I watched this finale with four friends, all Black, and when we saw the bullet explode through Eggs? head, we all winced and recoiled. It was too much. Excellent points. As a Latin, I share your viewpoint.... A suicidal Eggs would have made more sense. He was already losting it. I think it really was a matter of the actor not being available for Season 3, since he was hired for another television series. Let see, I predict this shooting will have a lot of ramifications for Jason. He was responsible for a vampire's death, and went unpunished. And now a human life? My prediction is the show needed a big reason for Jason to break, and perhaps get addicted again to V. And this will lead to alot of scenes with Eric and Lafayette. And if Tara discovers it, whoa there's going to be hell to pay. I was disappointed in the finale, just from a storytelling angle. St. Bill is getting so boring. We get the point. Eric has told us that he LOVES her, He saves the day, not actually using any of the Queen's advice, but hatching up the plan with Sam. They even try to show him as patient, understanding father... barf. I know I favor Eric, and it's not his show. But do they have to trivialize Godric's death. That b*tch Queen. I HATE HER. I think they had to keep him away from the madness, because sorry, but if AS on screen, no one cares about any else, let alone St. Bill. I had a flashback of "it was all a dream" Dallas style, when the townies couldn't remember. Yeah, I want to forget about Maryann too. And how did Sam become a bull?? The Sam subplot was a bit interesting. Maybe we get his back story next season. Lime, I just don't think HBO or AB is trying to appease any of its'viewership. No one wanted to see that mess. --- don't think it can be broken down into a white/black.. hero/slave thing. Shows come and go, so if they turn off too many viewers, no one will be watching. And what started as an interesting, creative story, will not last. So, the writers better wake up.

robotwolf, It could be seen as a racist act. Not that I think Jason is a racist, but as someone pointed out, Jason didn't shoot anyone but Eggs. It could be argued that Eggs was not local, or secretly Jason has possessive issues with Tara or, or... anything. But institutional racism is alive and living and I am sure thriving in a little backwood hickville like Bon Temps. And the fact that Andy, a policeman, is covering it up...well, there will be no justice for Eggs, even though he did horrible things. So it cannot be discounted, though one may not want to dwell in that place. But I do not think it was a mistake by the writers to write that white Jason kills black Eggs. It is not far fetched and kind of reminiscent of the original 'night of the living dead.' Eggs was by no means a hero, but sometimes it is shoot first with black men and ask questions later. I'm just saying.... Cranberri

I loved the last episode and am so Hungering for the next season :D But I worry about Sam, Will finding his Real Family Help or Hurt him? I so don't want to see him hurt he's got this little boy lost quality that is so endearing. Who too Bill? I want to say Eric had something to do with it cause of his desires for Sookie. Will she find out? Will he be able to keep it a secret from her for long? Cause she'll be able to tell one way or another. But all in all it was a very good season it went by ohh so fast and just as I was needing another episode it was done. I've got True Blood in my veins and I'm aching for my next fix. See you next season you naughty ghouls and girls

I've been lurking in this forum since the beginning. But the posts regarding this episode, rather than the episode itself have encouraged me to create a user and add to the discourse. A few points: Racism? Are you kidding me? When Eggs was shot, why are you only capable of seeing him as a black man? Why can't you just see him as a man? A man was shot by another. That's what happened. If you are forced by your personality to only see it as race on race violence then you have issues better addressed elsewhere. Last episode, I was, like many here, becoming a little tired of the MaryAnn plotline. But this episode really wrapped it up nicely. MaryAnn turned out to be just a deluded creature just like the rest of us. And if she's not a character you'd like featured on your lunchbox then mission accomplished. "That's hitting me... you're really not commiting to this at all." Regardless of how much I disliked MaryAnn, I think the actress did a great job. I find the Jason/Andy B-Story a lot more distracting/upsetting that MaryAnn ever was. The Queen as an effective "crack dealer?" Eric either for that matter. But that produced an interesting question: If your blood was easily and readily replenishable, acted as a narcotic and kept people in your thrall. Why wouldn't you sell it? Or better yet, give it away? All in all, I enjoyed season 2. And I hope that season 3 realigns marginally with the books in that we get to meet the werewolves.

I LOVED the finale. I won't sit here and dissect the show as it is up to personal interpretation. I fully understand this message board, in no way, has any effect on AB's direction of the show. To think otherwise is simply silly. As my name reflects, I am thrilled that Sam was the one to put an end to Maryann. How mad would the masses have been if AB HAD actually followed the plot in Book 2 and let Maryann run off into the piney woods of northern Louisiana? There would have been a hoopla like no other, that's what! After the ending of Maryann, it was pretty quiet by comparison, but I loved the line up for the story arcs for next season. Will Sam's "evil" family be the introduction of the Weres? How will Jason's killing of Eggs affect him? Andy? Tara? Was it Eric's minions that kidnapped Bill? Lorena's? QSA? Will we see the fae's next season? The witches? I don't have a clue and will wait patiently for 1) CH's next book and 2) next Summer for the 3rd season of True Blood!

The only part of the episode that was worth watching was Marianne's death. Everything before that point was drawn out, beyond silly (I'm still flinching at some of the dialogue) and unnecessary. This whole season hasn't really sunk in like the previous one. As for the cliffhanger, what a cop out. Wouldn't it have been better to see Sookie say yes to Bill, fade into black as they keep on dancing and then at the start of the next season plunge us into turmoil right of the bat?

lilmetome, Yes there were definitely racial undertones. I understand True Blood is set in a small town in Louisiana, but I was also disturbed by Jason shooting eggs in the head. Jason was too scared to shoot anybody when he went to his grams house and saw all that hoopla going on. He didn't even shoot anybody when he went to the church and Sookie was being held captive. But he shoots Eggs in the head? I was totally turned off by that.

I like your take on it rudyinbama. Very interesting episode. I have no complaints really. I just love the show and look forwards to what happens next season. Eric's time will come. I am still feeling the rooftop scene with Godric, that is how AB will bring the softer side of Eric. Not in the little ways we saw in the books, but in a really big way. Cranberri

how can you say the episode was good? Cliff hangers?. Ok maybe Eric did have a hand in Bill being taken way but that's no big deal. The way things have gone south in the show, that will be screwed up too. Why is the Queen selling blood?. Your are giving the episode too much credit. I swear, some people must have been watching TB last night with Beer Goggles on.

Im very satisfied with the ending. No more MA, and they acomplished it without it being cheesy or a WTF moment. plenty of cliffhangers for season 3. Id say the only problem is 57 minutes still wasnt enough time to show everything, we want more!

The finale had it's high points. AB clearly wants us to think that Eric had a hand in Bill's kidnapping, after showing Sophie Anne threaten Eric about Bill. I think, though, that it will be similar to the first season cliffhanger where everyone thought Lafayette's foot was hanging out of Andy B's car. Having read the books, I won't say here who is probably responsible for Bill's disappearance, but I predict Eric will help Sookie to look for Bill as a way to get in her good graces.

Why in the heck did the season have to end this way? AB, you must think we are as dumb as a box of rocks. Look, The dam TB story is about vampires. Have you forgoten that? I am so ticked off that Eric had only afew minutes of air time. Just to let you know, Eric is TRUE BLOOD, Bill too. I don't even know how the writters can even write the crap we have been seeing this season. If I were you,I would drain everyone of the bastards. I don't know what your smoking but stop and get back to the basics of the story AB or better yet read the books. That might help. Bills hair? Anyone ever hear of Moe? Hoyt and his Mama, that was good. Jessica, thumbs up. The Queen? If you are smart and I know you must be it would do you good to replace her..and fast. All the actors that have made TB have been killed off Godic, Diane, Malcolm and Liam, just to name a few. They made TB what it is/suppose to be. What did we get instead? crap. AB you jumped the shark, shot yourself in the foot. You owe the fans and I am a hard core fan an big apology.
