Sunday night is just around the corner. Post reactions to the first episode of True Blood Season 2 HERE. When the fans speak, HBO listens. Your reactions just might make it on the air. To improve your chances of having your quote used on air, please be succinct and keep all 'full length' conversations in the episode thread. Thanks and happy watching!

The finale was just so-so. The high point of the season was the two episodes that featured Godric. (PLEASE bring back Godric.) Thank goodness the MaryAnn storyline is over! That whole storyline was boring, ridiculous and over the top. I'm still a fan of Michelle Forbes. The problem was very bad writing. I prefer Jessica to be sweet and innocent and was disappointed to see her with that truck driver. It would have been nice to have Jessica and Hoyt reunite in the finale. Getting rid of Eggs that way left a bad taste in my mouth. He lived such a sad life and deserved better. I liked the proposal, but couldn't believe they didn't have Bill get down on one knee to propose. A civil war era Southern gentleman would surely get down on one knee. I'm more in love with Sam than ever. Also, love Bill. Like Eric. HATE the Queen. I think AP did a better job with Sookie this season.

I agree, kiyo. Very nice summary. Not that I am a feminist, but I am truly disappointed that there is not a single strong female in the entire story. Pam is the only close comparison, but she is lucky to get a minute of screen time not to mention she must follow Eric's orders. In the books, Sookie is respected by the supernatural because she does not take anyone's shit. She gets beat up all the damn time, and in the end, she has a huge part in the survival and salvation if not being the main cause. Yes, there are parts where she was saved by Eric, or Bill, or both - but show Sookie is so cut and dry. I see no real depth or strength, no real independence which is what draws the supes to her. This is the main reason Eric is so fascinated by her. What left me wondering is why QSA would tell Eric to never taste Sookie, yet reveal Bill's feelings and allow Bill to feed daily off of her? If Bill was sent to secure her, this would be greatly overstepping the mission. Could this lead into why Bill is taken? Wishful thinking probably, because I think is it very probable that the deceitful mission QSA-Bill story line now has a high chance of never existing. I have lost all faith in book relation.

I liked it and am just glad Maryann and the egg and Eggs are gone . loved the way they killed Maryann and that Sam got to do it was very fitting. Could have used more Eric but didn't think we would get much of him tonight .Thank they did a good job getting all the old ends tied up and leaving new one hanging.

Glad the MA storyline is finally over. That being said, while tonight's show was better than the last two, it still left a lot to be desired. REALLY tired of Bill being portrayed as the hero all the time and when he can't come running to the rescue well, it's not his fault. Now, if this is just to build him up so that the fall is even more spectacular...maybe. My understanding was that the deviations AB was going to make from the books were really due to the books being told from Sookie's POV. Well, that is not what is happening. Things are soooo far from the characters that CH developed I almost don't recognize them anymore. The timing of Sookie's something extra is, IMO, too soon. The dynamic between Bill/Sookie/Eric is off. I am hoping that AB goes back and reads Book 3 before releasing the writers to work on the next season and they get back to the terrific characters that CH created. A few comments on tonight's show: Laffy as a bridesmaid - Hilarious. Sam - stellar performance. I really felt for him. Thought the jessica part of the episode was unnecessary and like the writers were just trying to find something for her to do. They could have done more re the Queen and Eric...two weeks of Yahtzee BORING. Jason shooting Eggs and Andy covering it up...wrong wrong wrong. Bad move for them to do this to Jason. Loved the romance of the dinner date and the dancing. Thought the proposal was ill timed. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the writing for Season 3 is more like the Dallas episodes. And to AB, I realize you have a vision for the show, but take a moment and listen to the fans of the show (and the books). Go back and read the reviews from episode 8 & 9 and see what happens when the writing is good.

After having waited with much anticipation for the season finale... I am just stumped...the show was: boring, contrived and just ugh. -The wrap up with Maryann was iffy (how is AB going to handle the STDs, pregnancies and self mutilation -BIG guess - I bet he just ignores it!). He is the one who scripted that entire crappy storyline and there is no closure to it! UGH -St Bill, I would have respected him more if he would just freaking OWN up to his actions. The proposal - can we say needy much! Guys - take note - don't propose to a girl after hell has broken out in your town, especially if your girl is ALIVE while you are unDead and haven't even talked about marriage. You know - she is going grow old and and die while you don't! I would think a girl would have issues with that. So I guess AB is going to have Sookie cheat on Bill in season 3 - well atleast he is making sookie do some of bill's evil deeds, not just Eric. Way to shake that up AB. UGH, boring and contrived. -Eggs - so i guess it's going come out next year that Jason killed him and Tara is going get mad. Maybe that is how they get her to run away to Missi and hook-up with Frank? If they even do that story. Contrived -Eric and Queen SA #1: I am still struggling with the age issue. In the books she is older than him (hence stronger and she has 3 crazy guys who are older, watching her back). In the show, she said she was turned right before the industrial revolution (so between 1556 - 1779)...she is at most 453 which is much younger than Eric. AB really needs to explain how Vamps in his world retain power - cause in most mythos (including CHs) it is by age. At a minimum - they need to have Eric say he doesn't want to be king (like in the books) - to explain away why he takes her crap. I do think ERW was better in this epp. Contrived - Why Yathzee? Is there a kick back going on? If i was the Queen's age instead of Yathzee i would be playing WoW or DnD which would be much funnier in the context of the show. UGH -Queen SA: If sookie is more than human and feeding on her does something to vamps - Queen SA should have the same problem with Hadley (if kinship in show is the same as the books). Also, last eppy she told bill vamps could only feed on humans - so if sookie isn't human - how can bill feed on her? UGH -Sam: of all the characters from the book to the show - he has stayed the same even given the changes to his personal history. I felt so sorry for him. He was the HERO and no one treated him as such. (Note: i liked his HEROness in the show better than his not so much from the ending in the book.) -Sookie: still the victim. I really don't like that they have reduced her ability to the point where bill has to tell her to use them...owe how i hate that. This show is about a telepathic waitress...she should be doing her telepathic stuff without Daddy Bill telling her. boring and UGH To set the record straight - all the actors did a bang up job...i just did not enjoy the story.

Okay the second season is over. I also think they truly missed the boat dwelling so much on Mary Ann. Too bad they didn't knock her off in the first ten minutes of the episode then focus more attention on the other characters. On the bright side I think they have left the door open to tie in some of book three. Sorry about Eggs but that allows next season to follow the storyline of Tara getting involved with vamps. Bill's kidnapping could tie into the book by having Lorena be the kidnapper and off goes Sookie, with Eric's help, to rescue him. What better way to get Sookie and Eric together! Other characters can be introduced and hopefully, AB and the writers will get back on track. Lets not loose hope!

I like how any complaints about tonight's episode are automatically discounted as being from an 'eric fan' or a 'book fan.' Yes, I like Eric and yes, I enjoyed the books. However, my opinion of the show isn't related to that. Tonight's episode(and the last three, in fact) were packed with filler and junk. And all instead of some actual character development. It's just sad.

Well, she should. Her mother was Gran's daughter. Gran had two children with the fairy. A son and a daughter. Oh forget it AB will write whatever he wants whether it makes sense or not. Clearly.

I know that those who have read the books must differenciate between the books and True Blood and understand they are not one in the same. However, I am truly having a hard time after this episode. I would hope that AB would atleast keep the overall basic storyline, concerning the "fall of Bill" and the beginning of Eric being the major player for like, the next 6 books, and with this whole engagement and the whole "Bill can do no wrong" attitude, it's just ridiculous to me. Bill is now kidnapped? OYYY. It seems like that ruins the entire premise of what should be the 3rd season.. if it is indeed based on Book 3. I can understand artistic expression concerning Tara, Hoty, jason, Andy, Sam, and every other character including Sookie Eric and Bill, but cmonnn. If AB wanted to do whatever he wanted with a TV series, then he should have created an original series, not one based on books. I will still hold onto some hope that he will stay true to SOMETHING. ps - the finale SUCKED. The wedding/death ceremony was prety embarrassing too.

What are Sookie's powers again? You would think that someone with that much insight could figure out what they were. There's not one strong female character in the cast. Can we have at least one that doesn't need rescuing all the time? No disrespect, Mr. Ball, but is Jason a fairy? Where are his special powers, besides being hot? Not that that's an entirely bad power. When Bill comes back can he have a new makeup and hairstylist so he can possess this power too. > Pertaining to the last episode, I have to agree the bull sequence was amazing, the tip top of the horn. After that, it was the opposite end of the bull we were looking at. More specifically, what comes out of it. > I think Sookie must not be a Stackhouse.
