No I'm not still loving it but will allow AB to redeem the show. The Eric demonization, the St. Bill (boring) portrayal, the whole maenad storyline and now the egg. Really Mr Ball where is your head? MS Harris look what they have done to your story! I will watch the finale and hope for a save and even if that is bad I will watch the first episode of season three to see if AB learns from his mistakes but if there is no redemption. I'm done.

I watched the season one behind-the-scenes video on The Vault yesterday. The contrast between the show that Alan Ball & cast were describing and where this show is now, I feel duped. That show requred accepting the premise that vampires were real and even people in small towns would be affected by their integration. That show had a main vampire character trying to live a life among the humans, trying to develop a relationship that would help redeem his soul from the misdeeds of his early vampire existance. I thought it was a show for grown-ups. This show, the end of season two, requires accepting the premise that anything can happen and any kind of creature might be waiting in the woods. You freakin threw out gravity in this episode. You've got a giant EGG and not a bird or reptile in sight. Werewolves? Queens in palaces? In the United States? Do humans know about this? They only seem concerned about vampire sex, not vampires raping their economy! I can't imagine what kind of crazy you'll need to pull out for season three. And I don't mean that in a good way. The earlier shows turned me into a Bill/Sookie + Stephen Moyer junkie. I also liked the other characters, they were strong the acting was strong. The story in season one was strong. I'm happy for the actors and producers that the audience is growing, so I guess I'm in the minority. But you're losing me with the all the creatures and the craziness. -- Edited by wishiwasanna at 08/31/2009 7:46 AM PDT

I think it's the difference between seeing an "orgy" and simply reading the words, "there was an orgy." I liked Sookie's extra power. I think it will be interesting to see where that goes.

No, I am not loving the way you are tying up the storylines. When you had an excellent storyline with Gothric you ended it with nothing. Instead of having a real interaction with Sookie and Eric, you made a lame dream scene that went no where. You also flatten any real interaction with Sookie and Eric by stating in "Frenzy" that any feeling Sookie had about Eric was only the blood and not what she witness between Gothric and Eric. You can't say it didn't make sense because the whole story is a story you created, so you could have ended it anyway you wanted to. Bad move. I hated the meenard plot it was so lame. You put more resources into this plot then developing the main characters that really counted. Now, instead of using the storyline of Bill betraying Sookie, it looks like you are going to down a soap opera plot of taking care of Bill. Bad play. I hate soap opera. If I want a soap opera I would watch one. I understand that you need to expand the storyline since the books are told from Sookie's point of view but you are creating a lot of filler and no substance. The Jessica & Hoyt relationship is nice but where will it go? I am thinking that the main reason for people liking the books and not the series is that the books are from a woman's point of view and not a man's. So now that it is being produce with a man's point of view it is losing that wonderful human relationships feeling that are in the book. Sad. Finally, I watched an interview with the True Blood actors stating that only 5% of the book readers are watching the series, I wonder what would happen if those 5% stop watching the show. I bet the percentage is a lot higher then you think. -- Edited by motherearth48 at 08/31/2009 6:55 AM PDT

I've read all the books over a period of years. I don't recall that Maryanne's character was such a big storyline as it has been given this year. I can't say that this treatment has moved the entire storyline along to places where I want it to go. I like the actress very much. I've just had more than enough of the character. I'm hoping to love next season better and I hope it starts sooner than expected. -- Edited by AbbieJolie at 08/31/2009 3:55 AM PDT

No! I absolutely loved season 1, loved all the books, loved the anticipation of season 2, and have been increasingly disappointed throughout the season. Tonight's episode made me seriously question whether or not to continue watching the show. Alan Ball has stepped way outside of the original storyline. Yes, I understand that the show is just based upon the books, but I feel we've lost the entire spirit of the books. I will give the finale a chance, but I'm feeling that I'm setting myself up for the biggest disappointment of the season. I hope HBO and Alan Ball follow these boards and see the disappointment. If they want fans to watch season three, some definite changes must be made.

Obsessed would be a better word. I have loved every episode this season! The Mary Ann story line is getting a little old and seems a little drawn out but I can't decide if it's because I dislike her so much and wish they would destroy her (which makes a great story) or if I truly wish the show would move on. The character is played so well and is so cocky that when she is destroyed it will feel sooooo good. All the characters have truly come into their own, and the actors are supberb! I look forward to the finale and many more seasons!

Sophie-Ann was the most disappointing aspect of this most recent episode in the books she was sophisticated and lethal in the show she just seemed cocky
