So I haven't read all the replies to this thread, but the ones I have all say you are still loving the series...
well, I read the books beforehand, and I'm beginning to NOT love the show anymore.
Sure, the characters' names are the same, but I'm pretty pissed that they've changed so much of the story and characters. Jason, Tara, adding Amy, what the...?! It's pretty much unrecognizable!! I'm very disappointed.
Maybe if I hadn't read the books before I would feel differently, but the show is definitely NOT staying true to the Sookie universe. And I think that is the biggest shame.

addicted, at least this is a holiday week. The week should fly by and hopefully we will see Sookie coming to her senses. After seeing that preview I am upset and I think Bill needs someone stronger. She is so strong and yes a little childish in the books, but this is way to much for me. She is acting like a baby and what is up with thinking Bill was not coming back. They better pull it together for the finale. Bill and Sookie must be together and she needs to screw her head back on.

I'm with you, a two hour season finale would somewhat dull the pain we will all go through for the next 6-7 months!!

I live for Sundays too- the weeks just drag on and on waiting for 9pm Sunday night.]:)

Lovechild,

I totally agree! I've never been hooked on a show like this before. AB is a genius and I just can't get enough of Bill. My husband and I run to the couch too. We make SURE our kids are in bed by 8:30. I just ordered the first book. Is it a good idea to start reading after this season ends?
What will we do after 11/23? Summer 2009 is way too long:_|

Elliefant,

I agree. I like the show better also. I started reading the books only after the first couple of espisodes. By then, I was loving Bill and not to impressed by Eric. We will just have to wait and see what AB envisions for the future episodes. :)

Not only am I loving it, my husband is now constantly trying to beat me to the sofa to get the middle seat in front of the tv. (He loves the volience. "Someone or thing is always getting killed. Love it") I have never been addicted to a show like this. I have loved other series, yes. But with this series, I watch each one at least 5 times so I can see what I missed or to feel what I felt. This show is truely awesome. Because of this show, I am now reading the books! :) (I hadn't heard of this series before.) I don't know what I am going to do when AB totally start deviating from the books. :( 10 pm Sunday to 9 pm the next Sunday is 7 long days!!!

Yup, still loving it and completely addicted to it. I read the first couple of books, just because I loved the show and couldn't wait for Sundays. I wasn't all that crazy about the books, so I'm sticking with the show. I like what AB's done with the material so far.

My only request is that Alan Ball get back the hair and make-up people from the first few episodes. SM and AS shouldn't have to suffer the travesties of Bill's hair and Eric's make-up.

I totally agree! The books are so much better, why would they change so much of the material? And last weeks episode was unnecessarily gory. I just don't get it. I'm gonna keep reading the books though, for sure!!
