I was hoping that by now we'd see more of the supernatural elements of the CH universe. I want to see more vampires, shapechangers, werewolves...hell right now I'd just like to see more of the ones we know about!! -- There is more than a little of the erotic in Death's arms.

I'm rather cheesed off that he is spending so much time with Tara/sam/lettie mae as well as Jason. I want more Eric and Pam! -- ?Put down that fucking milk shake and dig a fucking hole.? ~ Sgt Brad Colbert

As a huge fan of Alan Ball's Six Feet Under, I was greatly anticipating his next project for HBO. It's an apples/oranges thing, I know, but True Blood seems to pale by comparison on most every count. It's too broad, over-wrought and the whole goth romance motif is already wearing thin for me. It's a graphic comic book come to life, rather than a subtle, nuanced and updated exploration of the genre. . which would be my personal preference. I don't see this one becoming a cultural milestone or a multi-year brand. Sorry, not loving it at all.

I'm actually a little disgruntled after last night episode and hope the remaining episodes will come back to focus on the Bill, Sookie and the whole vampire thing. There for a while it was an every day addiction, My feelings are beginning to change and I can usually wait until Sunday. So I imagine if the story line continues to focus on the ensemble and move into so many other directions my attentions will cease. Afterall, it was the books relationship with Sookie, Bill and Eric that really made the intrigue and the opening of the strange world. Sam is becoming annoying! He's just portrays the poor lost puppy dog too long now!

I kinda feel like Lunitca, the show seems more about the ensemble, rather than Sookie and Bill. They really missed an opportunity or just completely left out some of the reasons and feelings behind with Sookie and Bill, as when Sookie drank Bills blood, then had orgasmic sex before the ride to Fangtasia so she would be strong for their meeting with Eric and Pam. Also, after the dirt scene, there should have been some chatter as to the after sex in the dirt, that did not come until the next night before babysitting. Too much "Jason and Amy", does he ever not sweat! I'll watch till the end of season, but I really think the main attraction to the show is the relationship between Sookie and Bill, after all that's why you fell in love with first 3 books anyway!

I am still so much in love with the Bill and Sookie scenes. I especially liked how cute they were babysitting. It was nice to see Bill share his lighter side. I'm glad the series is so far not following the books. The series is its own entity and Alan has basically just borrowed some characters and some ideas. If it was a movie, I would say following the books would make more sense. Fans love the show for its own premise, not because of the books. The show needs to become its own story. Stick with Bill and Sookie.

I'm sorry for that, but I can guess why there would be some resistance to putting a not quite fictional character in the series. -- Jane HBO Forums Host -- Edited by Host_Jane at 10/27/2008 7:37 AM PDT

Love this show!!!! Couldn't stand the books so I have no comparison issues like some that have read the books and are now watching the show, I know if I did like and read the books I would probably find things I didn't like as people have mentioned it's not like the books. I will be tuning in to every episode until the end!

I can't remember where I read it but they stated that they are not bringing the "Bubba" character because it would be difficult to bring in and would change the effect of the show. Remember everyone True Blood is Alan's baby, the book's are Ch and she is said this herself. He will take some of the main themes but alot of the details will be different. Eh.... I'm not anxiously waiting each episode anymore. Was Sookie this much of an air head in the books? I don't think so! She had more spunk. Each episode is more about the ensemble cast instead of Bill & Sookie's story. Alan Ball stated he was keeping to the books but where? Is it only in the sense that the vampires are out of the coffin? If so, I'll just wait for book 9 next year to find out what happens. The only episode that made me say "wow!" was epi #6. We only have 4 more episodes till the end of this season...let's see what they come up with. -- "Yikes. Yahoo. Yum" {Sookie - Book 4 - the shower scene}

God yes. This series is great. I get so involved in the show that when it ends it leaves you wanting more. Like last night when Sookie is about to be attacked and bam they leave you breathless. A week is to long to wait. Sunday has become my favorite day. Love it

I bet they don't though. Probably be too hard to pull off. He's so much fun, it is disappointing. But the description for next week's episode, mentions someone other than Bubba guarding Sookie, so....

Oh yes. My username says it all: TB is my V-juice. It took a huge change of perspective on my part... I totally understand being upset about the deviations from the books - ESPECIALLY Jason and Tara, angry Sam (and an exorcism?!). But, now I am completely on edge wondering what is coming! The books are awesomely fun, but the show brings a whole new wrinkle. The actors are superb, pulling 8+ books full of nuances into a few minutes of dialogue each week. Now that the 'foundation' has been laid - the show is getting more and more amazing (exponentially so!) each week. Best show ever. Seriously. Never thought I would get over the end of the Sopranos...
