Sookie lost her parents as a child, not long after realizing she had the ability to hear others' thoughts. Though Sookie's grandmother took her in, the young woman's telepathy has been an ongoing curse. Hearing the intimate feelings of everyone in her small town has left her feeling impossibly alone. And those who haven't been scared off by her "talent" have disgusted her with their shady musings. After decades spent as the local oddball, Sookie has learned to serve up a combination of sexiness and sass that helps her deal with most situations, but she has yet to find out whether her bite can back up the bark.

Also, this isn't real life. It's a TV show.

Obviously Anna Paquin is amazing and Sookie Stackhouse is the most interesting character on t.v. until Starbuck from Battlestar Gallactica and Ben from Lost comes back. I've been also going on this movie web chat where people talk about great horror, foreign films etc. They seem to love this show differently then the woman on this web site do. They love the violence and Sookie and Amy's breasts. They don't seem to have the same problems with the direction of the story line as the women on this site do. It is just interesting how men and women see this show differently.

I still love Anna Paquin as Sookie! I also believe that in the upcoming episode the ONLY reason she will have to put Bill out of her house is to save Sam's life. Bill could do some real damage to Sam if Sookie doesn't step in!

I liked Sookie at the beginning of the series but to me her character has gone down hill. She's not using her telepathy much anymore and ever since she slept with Bill she's been different. I loved her when the series first started.

We haven't even seen the scene where she kisses Sam other than snippets from a commercial (which, by the way, commercials can be misleading), so how is it that so many people can judge the scenes or Sookie already? lol I think Sookie just gets caught up in a lonely moment and the kiss may not be anything more. It certainly does not seem to me that she is just abandoning Bill and going for Sam right away.

I think Anna is stiff and there is sense that she is always working to hit her mark or deliver the line; she is not fluid.

Can anyone tell my why the character of Sookie never behaved the way her brother Jason does when she drank Bill's blood? She drank "quite a bit" of Bill's blood after being beaten up but Jason has turned into a total crackhead for "V" after such a small dose. Granted his first experience was more than a drop but it was pretty horrific. The only affect you really saw from Sookie drinking all that blood was that Bill can sense when she needs him. Jason's behavior on V is alittle over the top - border line ridiculous. I don't get it - did I miss something here? Why isn't Sookie all sweaty and frantic for V?

Okay I liked Sookie. I could understand how hard her life was being telepathic and all that goes with that. But going from Bill to Sam just like that, not good. My DH said that Sookie is a horndog like Jason! I agree if she goes to Sam then that is all she is. Great she still can't make up her mind. Just kidding. Next she'll be making out with Hoyt. Again, just kidding.

> Just because Sookie takes back Bill's invitation does not mean she chooses Sam over Bill. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER She rejects Sam's advances too, after she takes back Bill's invite. So you're absolutely right. (All of this having been confirmed by deadwood). -- "I'm never bored when I'm watching True Blood, because I really do not know what's going to happen." ~ Charlaine Harris
