I was rewatching episode three and my brother had come in shortly after it had started and asked me what the heck I was watching. He called me crazy and the show stupid, planted himself on the sofa and said that with all the language and graphic sex this must be HBO and then fell asleep! Hmpf! He's a prude AND a vampire hater... who knew! LOL The next morning he picked me up to go somewhere and it was pouring down rain. When I got in the car he asked me if I was melting. I didn't know what the heck he was talking about and then he said, don't vampires melt when they get wet? I said that's wicked witches! Then he said oh yeah that's right, you burn up in sunlight. So what do your friends and family think of your True Blood and/or vampire-friendly ways? -- Tim HBO Forums Host -- Edited by Host_Tim at 10/01/2008 11:38 AM PDT

My husband tells me I'm going crazy! I just respond with "that's ok, i like it here!" -- "Know this:I will die for her. If you harm her, I'll kill you." Bill turned his dark eyes on Eric. "Can you say the same?" Eric plainly wouldn't, which put him behind in the "Who loves Sookie more?" stakes. - From Dead to Worse

Er, I feel so silly. From the time I was like eight I've always found the whole vampire thing absolutly addicting. I watched Buffy and Angel, loved both of them. I've read so many different vampire novels. Like Twilight, which I loved. I've seen the movie. I've also watched a mess of other vampire movies. And since I found the Sookie Stackhouse series, and the TB, I feel like I'm getting my vampire fix all the time. But I've always gotten a little picked on. My dad thinks it's weird, and none of my friends are that into it. It's like having a favorite color, or like a certain food, it's just an interst. People can be so closed minded. -- "As the water pounded on my back, I reflected that I must be pretty simple. It didn't take much to make me happy. A long night with a dead guy had done the trick." -Dead to the World

Elvis Costello It's always good to fight the good fight. But a person needs to have fun too in order to "recharge the personal batteries". Just think of TB as your "recharging modus operandi" and that should end any guilty feelings. -- I'm a fair, fragile flower of femininity...and if you don't believe me, I'll rip your face off!

For me, they think, "Ah, typical." I like weird shows, and to be honest....I was a goth back in college.

This show has totally ruined me, but in a very good way. Prior to my watching this show, I and my whole family were non-fiction oriented, reading the books of so-called socially forward-thinking authors, making sure to watch the political pundits and fight the good fight over the past 8 years to counteract the harms we felt happening to society. At first, my kids thought I was nuts. But now, for me, it is time to just take those corners of fun and run with them, and I've help infect my kids (all grown and basically "serious" thinkers) with the same sense of guilty pleasure to enjoy and embrace this fiction and the happiness one can get from seeing the show, reading the books and discussing the characters and plots. I will always be socially conscious, but it is so delightful to have this show and the books, warm and waiting when I get the chance to curl up and dream. It is a genuine pleasure to be loving this show so much! -- It was a fine idea at the time . . . now it's a brilliant mistake. Elvis Costello

When my brother came back for a visit at Christmas he asked me if I was still watching "that vampire thing." I said absolutely and he again said he doesn't get it. Everyone in his office started watching too and so feeling left out he tried to watch it and still couldn't stand it or know what the fuss is about. Some people just are clueless, aren't they? Everyone says I'm obsessed and many people say the show is cheesy and one person called it C+ porn. I personally am comfortable with being obsessed. True Blood to me is like Survivor to some or Lost to another. Deal with it Vamp haters! I am a TB Lover for Life!

I hear ya Stevie34, I don' t care what anyone thinks. My friends were teasing me as they always do because I love shows like this and they know not to call or text me when I am watching Trueblood. I had not read the books but I have books by many other authors of vampires series and I did purchase the Trueblood books last week. I converted a few co workers at work and we talk about it all the time over and over. We are fang bangers!!!!

I don't care what other people think about me watching TB. My husband does not watch the show with me. We have different T.V. tastes. But he totally respects and celebrates our different takes on tastes on things. I love the books and show and he knows it. He does not know however, how much I enjoy watching Vampire Bill and how hot he makes me!!! I wonder how SM as an actor feels knowing that he makes grown women feel this way? All hot and seriously bothered! He probably would feel very flattered!!!!!!! He is beautiful!!!! Love, stevie34

I been hanging out with the vampers now for quite a while and it has made my life more interesting and fun. At first my husband thought I was losing it, but now he sees me as just very very (very very very) enthusiastic about a show based on some books I read (and read and read) so he figures "how bad is that?" It's not like I'm going out to the bars or buying stock online. My grown daughter has recently watched the first four episodes and she was very impressed with the acting and the imaginative stories. I try to sound "normal" when I talk to her about the show. -- "Can I sit in your lap?" * ~ Jessica ~ *

omg, my partner thinks I am a total nut job! I have never become so obsessed with a television show, or a fictional couple before. I love sookie and bill, and think they are one of the most romantic story lines I have ever seen. only my best pal (who does not have hbo) is as obsessed as me, and we are planning a true blood marathon when she comes for thanksgiving.
