In the new HBO series True Blood (from Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball), a new synthetic blood makes it possible for Vampires to live among humans. If vampires could live without feeding on people, would you be willing to try living with them? True Blood Premieres Sunday, September 7.

Book 4 is by FAR my favorite. I love that in subsequent books the wordplay and hints continue. Even after Sookie confesses, it is much more interesting when Eric actually REMEMBERS. I also get tickled at they way Eric always calls Sookie, "My lover." One way or another, that always gets to her. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Life is too difficult to be taken seriously." ~My Dad~

Moonlight and Blood Ties. Blood Ties is the little engine that should have gone on for at least another season. Smart, funny, interesting bunch of evil supernatural creatures from mummies, zombies, incubus, raising the dead egyptian style. Didn't take itself to seriously but was still great to watch. Plus there was one super sexy Kyle Schmid playing the vampire lead, Henry Fitzroy. I loved that show and was a super loyal fan. The first two episodes was based on the books by Tanya Huff but after that it went its on way and I think the producers did a great job creating something different from the source material. My point exactly Siff. I don't mind Bill being bigger in the TV show and love triangles are always interesting. My concern is that if none of the main creators have read book 4 at least then none of them will know why to us Hard Core Sookie book fans his character is just so important to us. A part of me has let go of his character ever developing into what he became to Sookie in the books, the man who understand and respects her the most in the sup. world (except maybe for Sam). I'll keep my fingers crossed. -- Edited by budnspud at 08/28/2008 11:19 AM PDT

budnspud How did I know you were going to say the shower scene???? Must be ESP. I've always hoped that as they move away from the book plots, it will take a hard turn towards Eric! It just scares me that Alan Ball seems so enthralled with Bill..... -- TrueBlood - V8, Valium, Vicodin & Vodka ~Alan Ball

Thank JohnTFolden. I agree with Alan that tying them to the books its just that there is "one scene" that I hope and pray somehow gets in there if its renewed. The shower scene between Sookie and Eric. Im sure the other fan here will agree. Not word for word of course from the books but it was soooo sweet and at the same time sexy. Its of course from book 4. Any other fans love that scene? And of course I would just be over the moon for the show to come back for another season or two or three. I've already lost my two other vampire shows so Im just grateful Alan and HBO have taken the chance to do another one.

I did a conference call with Alan Ball today and he again mentioned, as he does in most interviews, the intent of being true to the "spirit" of the books. It seems unlikely, if the show were renewed, that the writers would literally tie themselves to the plot lines of every book but I feel pretty confident that the production will stay true to the characters. -- http://true-blood.tv

In regards to the TV show following the books Im more worried that in every interview the most anyone creating the series seems to have only read books one two and three. I want to jump up and down and send Alan and the cast all copies of book 4! Eric and Sookies book and one of my favourites because of the romance between the two. Also there is so much humor in the all the books I really hope that the writers at least read through them to keep the spirit of humor, horror and Sookies wonderful, strong and pragmatic character. -- Edited by budnspud at 08/27/2008 9:15 PM PDT -- Edited by budnspud at 08/27/2008 9:16 PM PDT
