Host Maggie Host Tim, Hi did you see my questions below.

I have more questions.

Like, Why does HBO put so much money and effort toward these boards? It obviously would be costly to create the website, create forums with hosts, etc. Are they studying us? Are the forums created because they want our opinion, are learning from us, what we like, don't like, want, don't want? I can't think why else they would put so much effort toward polling and the forum but what do I know....

Host Maggie, Host Tim! this so bazaar. I had been writing this posting area for a few days and tried to read as much as I could. I noticed that I hadn't seen anyone talking to you! I got on to do just that and ask you specific questions and people were already talking in that line of thought. Woah!
So big fat Hi right back at you!
some q's for you if you don't mind

1. Do you write the q's?

2.what does your job as forum host entail?

3. Can you tell us things about the show like I have been real curious what the stats are on whose watching. I know HBO has an area for profiles is there a compilation of info you can share with us?

Welcome susiecreamcheese!

Funny moniker, Lafayette is a treasure chest of euphemistic insults. I haven't been here that long myself, but what I try to remember when reading and posting on a public forum is that the range of fellow posters/lurkers is gigantic. There are people of all ages and genders, with varying social/economic status, education, plus whatever differences you can think of, but we all have True Blood in common and that is where the fun is!

Newbies are expected and welcomed, although some "old timers" act proprietarily, everyone generally just takes that in stride.

As someone said earlier on this site, I have been lurking for sometime on the True Blood boards, but have only posted twice. It is true that some of the people on the other discussion threads have become unkind to newbies, so it is nice to be on a new, less established board. I had read the Charlaine Harris books last year and bought the first season of True Blood as something to keep me busy while I was off from school this summer (I am a teacher!). Surprisingly, my husband, who usually only watches news, sports and Law and Order on TV watched one episode of True Blood Season 1 with me and became addicted to the series. Now he can't go to sleep some nights, and keeps me awake wondering what will happen in the next series 2 episode. Also my girlfriend who lives across the country, and my daughter who is in college, are also addicted to the show and we all burn up the phone lines discussing each week's episode. My only criticism is that we will have to wait until next summer for season 3!

Thanks for starting a new board. I will try to keep up with it and post from time to time.

Good Morning,
Loving the series, even tho the books and the series are somewhat alittle different, but enjoying this season and looking forward to the future seasons. Loved the books and looking forward the new book.
I am a long time vampire lover, dislike that other vampire trend ( twilight-lamers ).
Glad Alan Ball is doing this series, have alot of respect for him, 6ft under was incredible.
I look forward to talking about the series, debating it, loving it, with others who have the same interests in this wonderful world Miss Harris created & discovered, and Mr Ball has brought to life.

I don't know the best place to post this, but I hope those who make decisions about TrueBlood realize that those who post--including myself--are not representative of the watching public. Millions watch but only a few hundred post. I would be curious about the differences between posters and the average watcher, but I suspect that more who post have read the books, are women, are younger, more passionate, and spend more time on the computer.

Being called an idiot just means that the person has no conversation. Don't just lurk, posting can be fun! "The time has come" the walrus said, "to talk of many things: of shoes and ships and sealing wax and cabbages and kings... Especially if you have something to say that does not just, dear lord, revolve around the hotness of Thor.

New to the boards but looking forward to discussing True Blood. How can you watch the show and not want to discuss it? This season is going by so fast. Even though I am anxious to see what AB is going to do in Season 3, I don't want Season 2 to end. I have read all the books and for the most part love what AB is doing with the series. I've lurked a bit & this board seems to be just what I was looking for.

I only saw Season 1 on DVD, but had to get HBO for Season 2. Lovin the show!

Hello Fellow Fangers:

This is my 4th or 5th post as of yesterday. I have watched the show since the beginning and have got my family hooked on it. I never done this, but it's nice to know that there are other folks that enjoy this show as much as I do.

I am 45 years of age, married for 26 years with two kids. I live in a LITTLE TOWN called Nada in Texas. Everyone knows everyone. I love to sing, write poetry, read and cook and visit with family and friends.

My husband's not into True Blood as much as my kids and my nieces are. We usually have little True Blood parties on Sundays. We have supper, watch the show and sit and dish about what will happen next week.

All of the actors are AWESOME! They make the weekends even better. Thanks for letting me put my thoughts down. Fang On!

Welcome, malorn!

There are some threads here where the namecalling is kept to a minimum and intelligent discussion is encouraged.

Try the "No book talk" thread (no spoilers from the books), the Mythical/Supernatural thread, and the Speculation Express (if you don't mind unannounced spoilers).

Please don't just lurk - we could do with more interesting posters!
