AB: Eric and Sookie "are fated"

Well well well.

Seems the man has finally decided to put us out of our misery.

New interview from TV guide: http://www.tvguide.com/News/True-Blood-Tidbits-1010929.aspx

Sookie and Eric: Sookie's been seeing visions of her and Eric getting ? ahem ? friendly. Will their romance actually progress, not just in her head? "I can definitely tell you [we'll see that] in the show. I don't know if it will necessarily be in Season 3. Of course they're going to come together, it's fated. It's not something that's going to happen right off the bat."

Interesting choice of words - "fated".

I thought he may treat E/S as a fling (which is worse to me than leaving it out altogether) but that doesn't sound like a fling. It sounds like he may actually have half a clue about this story after all.

I can't recall him ever saying anything so direct on this subject. Usually he is "snakier than a snake in the grass" when asked about E/S.

Hopefully we will see some real progress in this direction as season 3 plays out.

Sorry for so many posts but I forgot to add this QUOTE
from the writer in my post below

Fans keep demanding more screen time for Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), but the writers won?t indulge them

My post below wants the question answered ...

Where does the "writer" say that they will not give Eric more screen time??

Please point out WHERE THE WRITER ... NOT the web-host says that there will be LESS screen time for Eric?

This is the website you sent me to and these are the quotes verbatim

Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard): With the Eric fans demanding more screen time for him and a big romantic link between Eric and Sookie, the writers state that does not occur until much later in Charlaine Harris? books . As Raelle states:

?You know what?s funny is that he?s in the first two books, he?s a fairly minor character in Sookie?s universe,? Tucker said. ?There?s a lot of fan pressure that they?re supposed to be this big romantic thing, which actually in Charlaine [Harris]?s books doesn?t happen until much, much further down.

THIS statement says that there is pressure for fans for Eric and Sookie to have a romantic relationship

I think if we did that, we?d probably bore them all to death.

True ... too early for a Eric/Sookie hook-up

I think part of the magic of Eric is some of the mystery of Eric and the inaccessibility of Eric. I think you don?t want to turn them into the nice romantic love interest who?s in every scene.

Again true. Sookie must get to the point where she wants to be with Eric. The last thing we want is a lovey dovey Eric/Sookie

I think his danger is important so not just throwing him up whenever somebody wants to see his bare chest is actually a more disciplined approach.

So they are not going to exploit Eric sexually ... no problem. They can leave that to Bill and Sookie

Show me WHERE any of this post states there will be LESS screen time for Eric???

I see the sentence ONLY from the web host LINKING the concept of "Eric fans want more screen time but the writers arn't going to give it to them ...WHERE???

I do not see it. I see some manipulative writing but no direct quote

Aaine ...

I can't even find where anyone says that hey are deliberately holding screen time from Alex.

Long exhausting day for me so it you know where that direct line is can you either provide the linky or direct quote?

The one web site is sooo "Bill" focused that I often find the writing slanted as disingenuous at best so I believe nothing that is printed there.

Thanks so much

Sorry but I'm not seeing the steroid brow and big forhead you seem to notice. I see an incredibly hot, sexy actor with great acting ability that doesn't leave me doubting that he will not only be as great as his father but will far surpass his father's success and popularity.

Am I missing something? That's Raelle Tucker in that interview, not Alan Ball. By the by....

All that says is that they are deliberately witholding his screen time (as if that much wasn't obvious already) and that it's too early for them to get together - which I absolutely agree with.

Blind Freddy can see that the show is heading in the direction of an E/S hookup in some form.

I don't expect to see it in season 3. I don't mind if they drag it out, as long as they do it properly when they DO do it.

If they're going to drag it out over three seasons I doubt it's going to be a one nighter when it happens.

Oh and suddenly we ARE following the books now? I'm confused, everyone has been telling me This Is Not The Books!!!

I actually found him much more naturally attractive in Generation Kill and other films. I really dislike the big steroid brow and forehead he's acquired since. I'm concerned because he has the talent to be a real actor's actor like his father.

Also ... I would take the way this sentence is written with a grain of salt. That comes from the website ...NOT out of the mouth of AB.

I agree with this assessment and think that the REASON AB gave up so little Eric is to create the DRAMA and his manipulation of the audience of WANTING ...MORE ERIC.

It worked brilliantly. AB is not a stupid man.

It is a more disciplined approach. The last thing Eric fans want to see is Eric running wild yelling ...Suukiee.

Eric's role will increase but Sookie/Eric will not hook up ... just like in the books for ... YEARS, if at all.

All i want is MORE Eric ... not ONLY Eric. Give me more and I am happy. Give me less and I will stop watching the fucking show and be done with it once and for all.

I can wait for Season 4/book 4-- AB has already stated Eric Amnesia will happen. Not having to look at Bill with Sookie for 5 episodes is a good enough season 3 gift. Besides that the writers never said there would be no Eric Sookie development this season nor did they say Bill's betrayal will not be revealed.

Cannot wait to see those scenes.

You guys are going to follow the books now! Better take bake that engagement ring Bill....

I think you don?t want to turn them into the nice romantic love interest who?s in every scene

Crap..we don't need every scene (tho I'd be happy) just give us more than 30 effing seconds...geez

I think his danger is important, so not just throwing him up whenever somebody wants to see his bare chest is actually a more disciplined approach.?

Eric is a multitasker...he can be dangerous and bare chested all at the same time!
