Well well well. Seems the man has finally decided to put us out of our misery. New interview from TV guide: http://www.tvguide.com/News/True-Blood-Tidbits-1010929.aspx Sookie and Eric: Sookie's been seeing visions of her and Eric getting ? ahem ? friendly. Will their romance actually progress, not just in her head? "I can definitely tell you [we'll see that] in the show. I don't know if it will necessarily be in Season 3. Of course they're going to come together, it's fated. It's not something that's going to happen right off the bat." Interesting choice of words - "fated". I thought he may treat E/S as a fling (which is worse to me than leaving it out altogether) but that doesn't sound like a fling. It sounds like he may actually have half a clue about this story after all. I can't recall him ever saying anything so direct on this subject. Usually he is "snakier than a snake in the grass" when asked about E/S. Hopefully we will see some real progress in this direction as season 3 plays out.

Rclaurel, AB is following the books closer than some think in Book 1 and Book 2 She has a very real attachment to Bill so he is not Letting her have her attachment to bill he is simply following the story as it was written. Loverofthefang I totally agree with you Bill and Sookie together a Snorefest and AP sizzles with Eric and Fizzles with Bill. I however want Sookie to be with Eric but I want her character to grow alot before she hooks up with Eric right now she doesn't have a whole lot going for her IMO. -- Edited by camporese29 at 10/26/2009 6:36 PM PDT

I actually think Eric can do better so I wouldn't mind her staying with Bill and Eric hooking up with someone a little more interesting except for this: I already find Bill and Sookie together insanely boring and I don't know how much more I can take. Also, I found Sookie's scenes with Eric, even in dream form, to be way more compelling than when she is with Bill. I like her better away from him and I am really trying to like her since she is, you know, the main character.

> Allan or Stephen don;t see it either If you read the original post, the quote in the title that Eric and Sookie "are fated" - direct quote from Allan Ball. What Stephen Moyer sees is neither here nor there. He doesn't get a say and he doesn't write the show > > http://www.trueblood-news.com/stephen-emery-becomes-st > ephen-moyer > > ?Sookie in the books also flits from one romance to > another and if you did that with a lead female > character, she would not be as virtuous as they > wanted her to be. Yes we've all been watching Sookie's attachment to Bill. That's nothing new. Why is it that any reference to Bill and Sookie being together is then extrapolated by Bill fans to mean that they will always be together? Of course Ball/Moyer/Paquin talk the relationship up - it is the central relationship in the show - for now. Sookie flitting around in the books - Moyer's opinion. She only sleeps with three men, and dates one more over a period of a couple of years. I would hardly call that flitting around.

Allan or Stephen don;t see it either http://www.trueblood-news.com/stephen-emery-becomes-stephen-moyer ?Sookie in the books also flits from one romance to another and if you did that with a lead female character, she would not be as virtuous as they wanted her to be. So Allan made the decision to let her have the attachment to Bill?. He described Bill as desperately trying to be a decent individual. ?But he?s still a vampire who kills. ?It was a very conscious decision on the part of Ball to make the Bill character just as brutal as the serial killer of the first series.

> it probably won't happen in Season 3 It will take years to dig themselves out of the hole that Jessica was born in. Episode 1.10 "the Tribunal' was a powerful, heartbreaking scene. Bill is the only vampire who felt any compassion for the girl whatsoever. We're constantly told that Vampires don't have feelings for humans, so that sets him apart from the rest. Now for Eric to start getting emo over Sookie is a stretch, so we're told how "special" she is, but if Charles Manson became obsessed with Britney Spears, that wouldn't make him more appealing to me. I'd like Eric's role expanded, but not as a serious love interest for Sookie, and I don't think Alan Ball sees that either. True Blood Screencaps

> Because the better he makes Bill look now, the more > shocking it will be when he falls from grace. > > And he will - it's coming. I agree wholeheartedly. Too much has happened too fast and unless Ball wants that whole "jump the shark" phenomenon to happen to his show, then he can't keep going with Sookie and Bill at the momentum he is now... something big is going to happen and if the books even LOOSELY follow the books, and as Ball said in his TV Guide interview... it probably won't happen in Season 3. Not a spoiler, just common sense... you don't have your two main characters get married - that is the death knell of MANY a show.

And another thing that makes me think this: Why would Alan Ball change the events in the books SO significantly for the show (switching Eric's deeds to become Bill's deeds) if he is not planning on making this the Bill & Sookie" love story?.... I just seems odd to me, heck, even the HBO posters all show Bill and Sookie, not one I've seen so far has Eric and Sookie together. Maybe after season 3 they will have a whole new set of posters?

Ok, now if that is the case, then I'm reaaallly feeling that Sookie and Bill might end up destined together if everything good that Eric did in the books, were transferred to Bill on the show. I don't want to sound all doom and gloom and all, but it's sounding more and more like THAT will be the case...I'm not sure how I feel about it though, since I haven't really invested a lot on each character yet in the two seasons I've seen so far.

It's just a feeling I have reading Alan Ball's > responses to interviews and how the show was so far... AB is taking his time getting us there but it'll happen. Eric and Sookie will end up together. I believe the Bill lovers avoid reading the books because they know what we're saying is the truth and the truth hurts.

Yes if you read the books you'll find that everything good that Bill does for Sookie in the show, including how supportive and protective he is really came from Eric in the books. That's how Eric is with Sookie, buys her things, gives her money, fights with everyone for her, that's how he takes care of her - even better. And the sex is way hotter than anything Beeyul and Snookie have done on TB. So yes, we who have read the books think Eric and Sookie are destined. -- Edited by swtp555 at 10/19/2009 9:04 PM PDT

Hello! Are you guys saying that Eric and Sookie are destined to be together because they were in the books? I haven't read the books yet, that's why I'm asking... Because, I really get this "Bill and Sookie are destined" vibe because of the show. Again, I don't know if the show is, for the most part, closely following the books or not. It's just a feeling I have reading Alan Ball's responses to interviews and how the show was so far...
