Im not trash talking. She was great in "The Piano", "Almost Famous", "X-Men" great, I just think this role brought something bad out in her. Ya know what I mean? Shes just an irritating character and her acting is sub standard for someone with all the experience she has. I really dont think this was the best role for her, thats just me. Please no one get pissed if you are Anna Lovers, Shes a great actress just not a great Sookie.
Id love to hear if anyone else shares my opinions.

I think she's great! If you don't like Anna who do think would be a better Sookie? Besides she's just acting the way the director has instructed her to!

I'm starting to see only about 5 facial expressions coming from her and that's unfair cause I loved her in the beginning but I do wish she would stop overacting....
sorry, I like Anna and like she's very beautiful.... but she needs to dig deep and get into more real stuff.

I still love Anna as Sookie. I don't like how the writer's are portraying her in the last 3 episodes.

Something was said like this when the show first started and I defended Anna at the time. After the last few episodes I am not feeling Anna as Sookie.
I am a fan of Anna Paquin's work, but she is not right for the Sookie character. I think a combination of writing, directing and over acting has ruined Sookie for me. I cringe when she is on screen. Alan Ball should have gone with an actress that was not as high profile, as he did with the other actors.

I liked Anna Paquin in some other films. She may have the look the producers were looking for but she lacks the depth as an actress. You can tell when she's trying to act in certain scenes and you can see it and feel it.
I don't hate her, just think it's a little over her head as an actress and she has an oscar but she won that when she was a child.

Nah man she got on my nerves from the get go. I just hope, maybe after shes seen this for herself she will realize "Shit, Im a better actress than that!" and step it up

I don't know if it's her acting, the director or the writing. I like book Sookie, and yes, her emotions were whipped around. TV Sookie just irritates me to no end. Over acting is the only thing I can think of!

I think Anna is doing a terrific job playing Sookie. Let's face it ... the storyline over the first 7-8 episodes was mainly about Sookie and we were able to see her personality and character. Now for the past several episodes, it seems like we see very little of Sookie, and there are all these other storylines kinda of cluttering things up. So we only see bits and pieces of Sookie, and her character then and there is not being developed as it was earlier on. Too much crap being crammed into one episode.

i'm positive it's the director's writer's call.... it's not just anna if you listen to all the threads, people are just a little antsy close the end because the last couple episodes have been a little dry on all the parts.... but that's got nothing to do with anna/sookie it's the direction the storyline is going for all the characters.

I hope she gets better, because sex with Eric (its comin ladies! if you read the books you know its comin!) is going to be fuckin' nauseating with that acting. I think Pam and Eric need to hook up. Pam is the shiznizilbizil!
I get what you're saying Lygia! WTF is up with her talkin to Sam and saying "Bill knew I was in trouble, and he didnt come, so he's not coming back" WTF? If you just lost your virginity to someone dont ya think you'd be a little upset if they werent coming back!?
Brownie, I was thinking of that too. And I know she's too big of a name to play in a role like this but Natalie Portman is girl next door, and has played Down Home Country girl before. Shes a little too sweet for the role though, like shes more likely to cry than get up in your face.
Anna also gets on my nerves when she gets in people's faces cause her speech gets faster and higher until it fades out and she sounds like fuckin Al Pacino in Scarface or some shit!
But Im gettin kinda tired about the old "Vampire falls in love with girl with special powers, and then girl with special powers screws everyone!"
Laurell K Hamilton? Anne Rice (kinda)? and Charline. All the same story man, kinda depressing

In her defense, I thought she was very good the first few episodes - right up to the first night of lovemaking with Bill. After that, her character seemed to change and become a little "ditzy," unemotional about things that matter and too emotional over other things. Not sure if it is Anna or the director's/writers' call as to how she now is portrayed.

This girl is GGGOOOOODDDDDD!!! This is one of the best actresses that I have seen in a long time. HBO has the best actors.
