I don't know about you, but I love to read and have a room full of book's. Thought it would be fun to talk about our favorite books and authors and maybe find some new ones. -- "Do you enjoy living half way up his backside the way you do?" "Yes, it's nice, you should try it sometime."

I may find a lot I haven't read but might really love. I'm a big reader, more so then a TV watcher really.

Jasper, yes I love KMM books. The Fae series is good. There are a lot of books discussed on this thread if you go back through it. Most of the people on here love to read. Kmm website is great also although a little hard to get around in the chat.

Rocknrollmom: I've been a major Anne Rice reader~I'm rereading Anne's Merrick~who's one of the Mayfair witches. I also know that Anne's refound her religion~I may read her books to see what her take is on Christ & the Gnostic gospels. She was asked if she'd ever come back to writing for Vampires~she is have said to say: "Once you write for Vampires~they never really leave your system~ I'll come back to them~oneday" -- Marleneemm~I tell it like I see it, I'll never lie to you. Maybe my daughters were right. I was a > strict mom. I read all of those books so far, but my daughter will be much older before she can read them. She is 13 now. But then sometimes I think I'm a little more strict than other parents... But I do know what is right for her and what is wrong for her right now...lol Did you hear that they are looking into making them into movies? I was watching something the other day...I don't know what it was, because daytime TV is usually not on for me. But they were on the show saying that the rights were bought for it to maybe be made into a movie. (I think that it could work as a TV show too though) On that note. Does anyone read Karen Moning's books? They are great. She started out writing Highlander romances, but the latest books she has out are a series that is more supernatural (although some of the characters from her romances are in the book too). It is the Fever series and they are really good, they are also going to be made into a movie. I am looking forward to those.

I read Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches series quite some time ago. I also found them to be a "hard" read. Anne sometimes goes into way too much descriptive detail for me. I don't know if you know that she has totally changed her writing from the supernatural to a religious theme. She is now writing about the life of Christ as portrayed in the Gnostic gospels. I read one of the books, but I think she has lost me as a regular reader.

I find Anne Rice a difficult read and have to be in a certain mood to read her books. -- "The time for honoring yourself has come to an end." Maximus (Gladiator)

rocknrollmom: I read House of Night series not too long ago. I was very surprised that it is marketed to "young" adults. The scene you mention isn't the only mature content in it either, in book three, Chosen there is a very graphic scene. Now, as a adult I was not offended and rather liked the series however, IF I were a parent of a 13 year old girl... House of Night would be shelved for a few years. I also had a problem with her male relationships in general, never committing to any of the three male leads then only adding to them with the last book, the graphic scenes of drinking from Heath - just very risque behavior for a 16 year old IMHO. General post: I have now started the Blue Blood series by De La Cruz, anyone read this???? Just curious to hear any thoughts. -- Team ERIC!!! -- Edited by zmdw21 at 04/11/2009 7:53 AM PDT

I just finished You Suck by Christopher Moore. Very funny. I't's a sequel to a much earlier book, but I was able to follow it without reading the first one. I've also read the first 6 Anita Blake books, and I enjoyed those with the third and sixth being my favorites so far.

Has any one read the House of Night Series of books. They are marketed as young adult, but in the first book they are talking about the 16 year old heroine of the story watching another girl give a guy a blow job. Am I the only one who would have difficulty reccommending this book to a 13 year old who is not yet in HS? Maybe my daughters were right. I was a strict mom.
