Ok I love this show and all. But am I the only one who is a little disappointed that they didn't cast someone better looking then the guy they cast for bill? When I think of vamps I think of a sexy beautiful person. And maybe its just me but he doesn't do it for me at all!! Like Eric that's good casting!

the series is a very complex man to figure out.
There are many levels to him:
there's his "human level",then there's his being a
Vampire,how he feels about that,how he feels about
having to relinquish his Human life,his beloved, family,
his three children,his friends,sisters/brothers~and his
parents if they were still living when he'd gone to war.
Alan Ball sees William Thomas Compton one way~~~
and CharlaineHarris sees him the way she wrote him.
And very rarely will the two meet,in the HBO series!!!
We the viewer's have to find some medium~between
the "book Bill & the series Bill".

Stephen Moyer is PERFECT as Bill!
I am a fan of Book Bill, but SM has taken it to a whole other level. With his smirks, gorgeous blue eyes and mannerisms, he brings Bill to "life". Of course AS isn't too hard on the eyes either.

SM is perfect for the role. I think he's a beautiful man and I have zero problem fantasizing about him. For me it is not about looks ( okay...yes it is..Did I mention I think SM is hot?) but about the "range" of character SM brings to Bill. You feel what Bill feels when you watch SM perform. He's a genius. But then again so is AP.
I am beginning to be curious about Eric/AS.
Let's face it, his father is a very reputable actor. He's starred in such movies as the Glass House, The Exorcist Prequels. Good Will Hunting, Pirates of the Caribbean and Mamma Mia..just to name a few. So we know AS has the genes to act. I just think the show hasn't given him the opportunity to convey his skill. I'd like to see Eric a little softened and less abrasive. But there is hotness there. Only a firetruck could put it out.

well, as far as looks go I don't usually go for the Eric so to speak but here... I just think he is SO Hot!!
But, i've said before he is only SO hot as a vamp...not so much for me in his other pics, though I still would want to bed him...

I thought what pushed that "I am not human, Sookie. I am vampire." line into the cheese stratosphere was the musical crescendo that followed. LOL I love the scene, but the line sounds so much better and...menacing?...when you hear it in the HBO promos that are running.
I adore most of the musical cues on this show - Nathan Barr is all sorts of awesome - but that one right there failed me.

Nope,
I'm the opposite.
Eric has a bubble forehead....but I could probably get past that if it turns out he can act. (He hasn't had many opportunities to do so).
Bill on the other hand is an excellent actor which makes him seem even more attractive to me.
I guess it just depends what you physically like in man. Height doesn't impress me if there's a bubble head attached to the body.

I'm a big Eric fan (largely because of the books, not the show - yet), but I think Stephen Moyer is just about perfect as Bill.
However, I will admit, IMO, Moyer was much better looking at the beginning of the show. I can't really explain what happened over the course of the season, but it seems to me that his looks actually changed. I think it is his hair - I don't know. Actually I'm pretty sure there is a thread on this board devoted to Bill's hair.
Hair issues aside though, Moyer plays Bill with remarkable subtlety and efficiency (except for that one "I am Vampire" scene, which was just over the top, but I blame the writers!). Every glance, expression seems to have meaning.
His scenes as Bill are some of my favorites in all of television thus far.
And all this from an Eric girl...

Me too!! He got jealous when I told him I had a sex dream about Alexander as Eric!! he was actually seriously pissed off!! Hew claims he has never had a sex dream about anyone else since we've been together... please
I thought he was hot in the Starter Wife too!
In True Blood though they really detracted from his looks a lot!!
Personally, I think he is great as Bill and I never lusted after Bill while reading the books though either.
Eric and Alexander in the other hand...
