I have read all the books TWICE. I wasted 12 hours of my life on the HBO show. The books are infused with good humor, as well as, the classic gore of the vampire saga's. The show has NONE of this. They took a creative, well written, entertaining, and fun set of books and turned it into a blood sucking drama. The guy who plays Eric, SUCKS. Eric in the books, has much more of a sense of humor then the Eric in the show. Pam, OH MY GOD, where do I begin with what they did to her character in the show. Jason's character is right on in terms of his ego, but some of the things they have him doing aren't even in the books. Come on People. They reason people read the books was because they were entertaining with a little suspense on the side. Anna Paquin as Sookie, she blows. The only character that is getting it right, and is fun to watch is Bill Compton. Stephen Moyer has Bill down to an art. If I were to imagine Bill in "real life" that is what I would imagine him as. Sam Trammell as "Sam" is good too. The fact that they have Tara as one of the leads, when she isn't one of them in the books is very frustrating. She is a bit part at most in the books, she really isn't necessary to the story at all. I sat through one season because I read the books and I didn't want to hate the show. But I HATE the show. Thank you and have a nice day!!!

If I were to imagine Bill in "real > life" that is what I would imagine him as. It's funny, you think Stephen Moyer's Bill is like the one in the book and I think they couldn't be more different personality wise. Stephen's Bill is much more intersting and likeable. Book Bill is kind of bland and boring, and seems easily distracted from Sookie. I liked book Bill, but I love SM's Bill! -- TEAM BILL!! camelot7414@gmail.com -- Edited by camelot7414 at 12/17/2008 9:02 AM PST

I understand some of your frustration. I think the books are better than the series but isn't that how it usually is? Have you ever seen a movie that was exactly like any book? Stephen King's stuff has been shot to hell & back on screen. I think HBO has done a decent job so far & I'm just happy they had the guts to bring this to life in the first place. TrueBlood is not going to be like the books now or ever. If you don't enjoy the series....don't watch it. Who cares????? The rest of us are having a hellava good time.

But I HATE the show. Thank you and > have a nice day!!! Sorry that you think the show sucks, but let me ask you something.... what fun would it be to go directly by the books? You would know every plot line, every finish to it's beginning... I mean... where's the fun in that? Why watch something when there won't be a surprise- a twist of some kind? That's like someone buying your Christmas present right in front of you. Where's the suspense?? Anyway... I'm sorry that you dislike the show and most of the characters. Maybe next season will change your mind! Are you this exasperated over the Twilight series, too? -- If you ain't got no money, take yo' broke ass home!
