This is a St. Bill sucks thread... not a let's defend Bill thread... if you want to discuss Bill's limited merits then head over to the Bill Compton thread! You don't see us heading over there to discuss his many failings.....

to pronounce Bill's name.
That's childish.

Now as for Alan Ball~would you want the show
written word for word in the book put out onto the
tv screen? It would be "boring as all hell" and I don't
think I would watch it.But with Alan changing it up some and making it interesting I'm in for the long haul.
Just don't bore me with more stories like Maryanne's.
Give me more sex, more nudity, and more supernatural
creatures~Bring on the werewolves, shifters and more
Vampires,Witches and turn LaFayette. OK??

Maybe.

But, put another way: you like Eric because you're appreciative of so-called badasses who are sneaky and unethical. You like that he dishes out sh*t maybe because you're the kind of sad, cynical person who gets off taking it. But, enjoy, for I'm all for people doing what they do.

No doubt you will be getting a job offer from either or both HBO and Alan Ball. He certainly needs your advice in how to get a successful show off the ground.

Puhleeze,

I am so sick of hearing that argument! Sookie dreamed about having Sex to lose her virginity with someone's who's thoughts she couldn't hear that is it. And I'm sure you've noticed the difference of Sookie's dream of Bill and her dreams of Eric. One is about losing her virginty and the other is about being in love with someone who gets her and does not try to simplify her and label her "TenderHearted" anytime she does something that is compassionate.

Ooooh I think AB is eating plenty crow NOW. Why do you think he is doing all those interviews. AB may try to hint that he does not get the appeal that is Eric and it may very well be AB's show BUT even AB has to answer to someone. So I very much suspect that next season we will see a WHOLE lot more Eric and AB will try to write off as following the books more closely. Hand writing is already on the walls.... ;)

Uh, yeah but that dream was more like a nightmare where Bill was about to bite her(and not in a sexual way, either.)

Beeel has a QUEEN not a King...who is a ditz but that's you're ALAN BALL changing up what's written in the books.

Since you haven't read the books you are obviously satisfied with the vampire version of Luke & Laura and to take it away from you would mess with your fantasy that there are men out there who will take the place of your daddy, like Beeel.

Until you take your blinders off there's little that will get through to you...but mark my words, if AB continues on this path of madness very soon, much sooner than you think, you will tune in and find another show replacing it.

Or AB could wake up and make Eric the third lead and cash in on the gold mine that is Alex Skarsgard.

Although, it's debatable how Bill's character is evolving on the series, there's no question that Steven Moyer is an excellent actor. I rewatched the flashback scene in which Bill and Lorena preyed on a 1920's couple. Bill came across as truly manevolent and depraved, a tribute to his fine acting.

Yes, you're correct, Bill's KING, but it's not "Beeel" unless you're european.

Yes, again, you guess correctly: I haven't read the books and have no plans to. I'm a fan of the show and the TB Bill. The books and the show exist as separate realities so, when talking about TB, the book stuff is irrelevant.

I don't care what the books say. I care about the show that Alan Ball has created/adapted from the books. This Queen stuff is unimportant to me.

Not to the Bill fans. And the success of Season 1 (the revolutionary season) which was what I was referring to.

Time will tell. Bill and Sookie are the foundation; we'll see if dramatic changes will positively effect the series. But, actually, Bill's not my favorite character; he's just preferable to the handsome scumbag Eric.

Also, I'm all for other character development, but I hope it doesn't become "vampire central" because I think that's playing itself out. That Queen stuff is pathetic, talk about a soap opera! That ditzy queen!

But Sookie was attracted to Bill like that before she had his blood. She dreamed about him beforehand...

Eric manipulating Sookie into drinking his blood was a way of proving a point to Bill, that is all.

And Bill was less than forthcoming about the effects of the blood. Perhaps if he would have been open and honest and informed Sookie about the specific sexual attraction attached to the blood she would have thought twice about sucking the silver out of Eric's chest.
