Sorry, but what a b*tch. Who does that?

>You're mine," He said. Then he noticed my frown and amended his words hastily. "You're only my lover. Not Quinn's, not Sam's, not Bill's" there was a long pause "Aren't you?" he said.

Dead and Gone hardback pg176
Eric has asked Sookie to quit work and live with him.

Eric looked uncertain, an expression the sat oddly on his normally self assured face. "This is what other women have wanted from me." He said "I was trying to offer it before you asked it."

"I'm not anyone else," I said. It was hard to shrug in my position on the bed but I tried.

"You're mine," He said. Then he noticed my frown and amended his words hastily. "You're only my lover. Not Quinn's, not Sam's, not Bill's" there was a long pause "Aren't you?" he said.

A relationship discussion initiated by the guy. This was different if I went by stories I'd heard from other barmaids.

When I read this my heart broke for Eric and I hated Sookie because she just cannot see that he loves her and it's killing him that she is not saying what he needs to hear. He is so uncertain and if he were not a vampire he would have went home and cried.

Some people love to stir the pot just to get a reaction. I just put them on ignore. that way they still maintain their right to say what they wish and I maintain my right not to see it or respond to it.

Even though I'm not a big fan of all these crazy new threads -- I like this one!

My favorite: "This is the beginning" Eric to Sookie -- Season 2/True Blood

My other favorite: "Trust Me" Eric to Sookie -- Season 2/True Blood

Not a lot of words but the meaning behind both is palpable!

Oh god I laughed and then I wanted to cry because it's so fricking true :(

And the Bill thread is an awesome idea. I just got done rereading the first three books and I reckon I could fill a thread on my own.

His behaviour, his treatment of her in those early books, it's just awful. I really don't know how anyone can champion that relationship as it is on the page. It's so suffocating of Sookie as a person, not to mention abusive and just out and out dysfunctional. I want to grab her and shake her sometimes she has the emotional maturity of a 16 year old.

Yes, agreed. I think his past with Appius was closed book. He only chose to tell her because of his deep affection, love for her.

I love that Eric was so thoughtful but, you're right Sookie was disappointed that it wasn't Bill. That just shows me she's not mature enough to realize that they are simply two different men and she should be appreciative of what he did. At least that was book Sookie who only rescinded his invitation to her house along with Bill's. Show Sookie would have slapped him first and accused him of paving the driveway to show off that he's got money and thinks he's better than Bill then she'd rescind his invitation and ask Bill to make love to her. I would LOL but that's sadly how it would play out on TB with the book ignorant AP playing Sookie according to AB's scripts. :(

In Book 2, the werewolves brought a very badly injured Sookie back to the hotel. Bill had gone to the FOTS Church to find her. Eric was out front when the car pulled up. He helped Sookie to her room, and proceeded to remove the little glass fragments from her arm. He would gently lick the blood from her arm periodically and she had no objection to that. He told her to be brave, as he couldn't glamour away the pain.

He was so sweet.

Pasty Bill comes back and she was telling the story of what happened and how she got in a few good blows to Gabe before Godric (Godfry) killed him.

The short, pasty troll says, "Don't brag, Sookie."

What an ass.

Not only was the driveway done, but also there was a new parking area in front of the house. The gravel was the very expensive kind, the kind that's supposed to interlock so it does not roll out of the desired area. i put my hand over my mouth as i calculated how much it had cost. "It's done like that all the way down the road?" I asked Jason, my voice hardly audible.-------

I unrolled the yellow sheet and read the note scribbled across it. "Sookie-- Mr Northman said not to knock on your door, so I'm sticking this to it. You may need this ion case something goes wrong. Just call us".
"It's paid for" I said---------------

I found myself wishing the man who'd been so thoughtful had been Bill.

As thoughtful as Eric was, Sookie was not grateful. She failed to thank him before she rescinded Bill and Eric's invitations to her home. at the end of Club Dead

Hi Bianca yes I forgot to add that his sharing about his past with her showed a deep amount of affection if not love for Sookie and Trust! And for him to share the abuse that he went through with his maker, it broke my heart! And how he tried to make it seem as though it wasn't that bad, because he knew the idea of his pain would hurt her.

yes it really was sweet. And opening up to her in the bar that night about how he was turned. He too was comfortable enough with her to share that part of himself. He also spoke of his wife and children. Something I am sure he hadn't talked about in a long time...if ever.
