I think Tara has always been jealous of Sookie and in her heart sorta hates Sookie. I don't think it is an accident that they showed that scene with Hoyt and his mother. Everything that she said I believe was the truth and she just had her inhibitions in place before and that is the only reason she never told him that stuff before. They have shown again and again in recent episodes that the townspeople are in Every respect themselves, except now they feel free to do things that they've always wanted to do. Tara even said in S1 how she used to want to cut Sookie's hair. And now she is trashing Sookie's house and smashing her Gran's stuff. She is not in her heart Sookie true friend otherwise she would never do these things.
Any thoughts?

Marleneemm, you answered your own question. They made LettieMay such an important character so that Tara would have sufficient reason to turn to Maryann thus furthering the dreadful Maryann plot which I know a lot of us hate.

LettieMae was an almost none existant character in
the books~why bring her to the forefront and make
her "more inmportant than she really is":

I don't like the Tara on the show - would rather have seen the one from the book...the one (who to me as a child of a drunk) best represents how alot of us deal with that issue. We tend to be successful at work but suck at personal relationships (if we dont work at it).
The tara on the show is just a failure...i dont understand why AB had to take away tara's success at work when he changed the character.

People who suffer from self esteem issues do have a
bad time with their friends~especially if the friends

I think Tara loves Sookie like a sister and sometimes even sisters have resentment for the other for whatever reason.
To top it off, she is angry.
I think many people living their lives do not address their resentments; it being held in check by societal polite bindings. Otherwise, we could all be running rampant in a frenzy like the people in Bon Temps.
I think Maryanne, through her magic, wiped away bindings that keep a society functioning. Boundries. So what we see is what they, the people of Bon Temps. really feel if left unchecked. Tara included.

The posts here saying that Tara doesn't hate Sookie have made me slightly reconsider my stance. However some part of her wanted very much to break Gran's things and in turn break Sookie's heart, perhaps so that Sookie can no longer have these things to turn to when she misses Gran, just the way that Tara never had her mother to turn to when she needed her. I stand by my assertion that Tara and the other people in BT have only had their inhibitions removed, Maryanne is not controlling them. She is just counting on peoples lowest desires to come out once the better nature's our removed. But yes I do think that Tara somewhere inside of her loves Sookie, despite these things, afterall love and hate frequently waltz together.

Tara does not hate Sookie. In fact, I think she loves her like a sister. Sookie (and Gran) were always there for her when she was growing up and needed a safe place, and Sookie is there for her now.

yes, in a way a sister is jealous and hates another sister. She grew up with Sookie and althought Sookie had had her share of heartache, she was Tara's safe place. She probably imagined herself really a part of the Stackhouse family, not just a friend. She wanted Grans to replace Mama. She dreamed in Season 1 of being with Jason, maybe not so much to be with jason, but to really become a Stackhouse. Tara admitted to wanting Sookie's hair when Sookie invited her to become her housemate.
So, yes, but like a sister hates a sister. They may think or maybe say it, but the love is stronger then anyother feeleing.

Sure, that makes sense; however, I was talking about, I do not worry about trying to make more money than I need. There are people out there that have needs that cause expenses and that is all cool and they have to worry about those expenses. However, I am sure some of them would be fine with just being able to pay those expenses and keep comfortably ahead of expenses.
Also, keep in mind cost a lot of money to start a company. So, I have some worry for money, just for super amounts of money.
