What are everyones ideas on the egg...where did it come from? What's in it?
When Andy and Jason were in the truck, and Jason asked is Sam could ever turn into a chicken and lay an egg...That makes me wonder if maybe Daphne shifted into something and laid it herself?? LOL I know sounds crazy but these last two episodes have thrown me into confusion, I want more answers!!! hehe Have a goodnight to those who aren't vamps!

This may have been posted, I don't know. But I found this.
Orpheus wrote poems concerning the generation and descent of the gods. The subject matter of the original Orphic poems was similar to that of Hesiod and Homer, except that it made certain significant additions and alterations, concerned primarily with the creation. We find that Dionysus becomes here a god similar to the Egyptian Tem or Ra, who, in a series of incarnations, was the creator, the father, and the savior of mankind. At the beginning, there was only Night; and from this, as in the Egyptian cosmogony, sprang the primeval egg, which contained ErosPhanes, which was simply another name for Dionysus. When the egg burst, it separated into two elements, which became Heaven (Uranos) and Earth (Ge). These copulated, as in the Hesiodic system, and gave birth to Cronos or Time, and to the other Titans; Cronos became the father of Rhea, Demeter, Mnemosyne, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus, who, by eating his own father, encompassed all creation. Zeus now copulated with Persephone, who gave birth to Zagreus, the incarnation of Phanes, or Dionysus reborn, who was the father-creator in the sixth generation; and to him he gave the scepter and universal dominion. Father Phanes thus became Father Dionysus, or, as he was better known, Father Liber or Bacchus.

Ref the egg/heart/Dionysus
In the other version of this story, Zeus impregnated Hades? wife Persephone, and Hera was so jealous she sent Titan to the underworld to kill the child. They lured Dionysus off with toys and ripped him to shreds leaving only his heart. Zeus drove them away with thunderbolts and fed Dionysus? heart to Semele and he was recreated in her womb.

Dionysus appears successively in three forms: Phan�s-Dionysus, the bisexual god of Light, burst from the silver egg of the cosmos (the so-called Orphic Egg is sometimes depicted as an egg girt with a serpent) at the beginning of time.

That was a very interesting article. Thanks for sharing. There has been much discussed about Maryanne and statues. I'm going to suggest you try the "no book talk here" and "mythical creatures" threads as they talk about it the most.

Me too. And I also went through withdrawals from the message boards. There were some great times had on there.

Yes! There was some terrific acting. My favorite character was Titus Pullo. His acting was superb, plus he is gorgeous - much more so in real life when his hair has grown in......woof!!

Yes loved the show. I went into melt down  when it was not renewed. Great show and the cast was awesome.
