Caught in a compromising position, Sam shares a secret with an incredulous Sookie. Thinking she?s been purged of her demon, Tara celebrates with Lettie Mae ? but goes off the deep end when she uncovers Miss Jeanette?s true intentions. Sookie has a disturbing revelation during Arlene and Rene?s engagement party at Merlotte?s; Jason and Amy debate what to do with Eddie; and Tara speeds into a bizarre roadside encounter that lands her in jail. At a vampire tribunal to decide his fate, Bill faces a harsh penalty for his offense, but the magister decides on a more creative sentence involving a young human named Jessica.

StriderLvr: Eric absolutely has a thing for Sookie, and it's more than just for her telepathic gift. In fact, I think it was all planned out by Eric ... get Bill out of the way by bringing him up on charges, keeping him away from Sookie so that he'd have a chance with her. So, no, you are not reading too much into it.

Hey, thanks for giving that website for spoilers. I am tickled to death. I may regret it, but knowing this season will soon be over and we'll have to wait another year, i've ordered the first four books of the series. If anyone has any other spoiler websites, please post them for me. Many thanks, friends

I think not only does Erik want to use Sookie's gift, but he has a thing for her. For one, when they first met he was definitely eying her up and down. And he asked Sookie if she and Bill were very much attached and then said "too bad for me."

Also, when Bill had to go away, after he gave Sookie the goodbye kiss, and was walking away, Erik was looking back at Sookie, probably to gauge her reaction or maybe just to look at her.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

That is an excellent question and one that I wondered myself. I highly doubt that it (the fact that Sookie had saved Bill) would have made a difference, as the entire "trial" was rigged (not to mention poorly written).

In addition to all the other comments that have been made about the trial scene, I was disturbed by the fact that after learning that Sookie helped Eric identify the thief, the Magistrate still did not change the sentence. In other words, he seemed to care that Sookie helped Eric out financially, but that was not what prompted him to give Bill a different sentence (from the standard 5 years chained to silver in a coffin). The only reason the Magistrate changed the punishment was that he was feeling "creative" that night. The facts be darned!

Also, how is it that the Magistrate's "creative" sentence was supposedly spur-of-the-moment and yet they already had a girl in the trunk? What was she going to be used for if the Magistrate had not had his impromptu stroke of creativity?

Bill was VERY poorly represented at his trial. I do not practice criminal law and I could have done a better job. Of course, they say that, "He who represents himself has a fool for a client . . . . "

"You big Poser!" (Malcolm the vampire, to Bill)

I wondered that if Bill would have told the magistrate that "the human" as he referred to Sookie at the tribumal, saved HIS life, saved him from 2 vamp drainers, if that would have made a difference to him. Maybe then he would have understood why Bill was trying to save Sookie (without having to reveal to the magistrate that he loves Sookie), but just wanting to repay a debt...What do you all think? Would it have made a difference in Bill's sentence?

I was so afraid this would happen. I have read the books too and I'm upset with the changes. Obviously AB thought the books were good enough for a series so why change them so drastically?
Hopefully next season will stick closer to the books. Otherwise it'll just be another series down the drain.

It took me all night and most of today, but I am finally back to my norm and not so disturbed by last night's episode. No doubt it bothered me so because up until last night, although people were dying, we never saw Bill do anything absolutely horrible, as vampires do. It was apparent that he did not want to turn poor little Jessica, but he had no choice. As for the vampire court, the magistrate was calling humans pets and vampires higher beings, but compared to the human justice system, they were barbaric. Must be from the magistrate being a vamp during the Inquisition! Yikes

Ok im done!!! I will no longer watch this cheap imitation of some of the best books i have ever read! I knew that some things were going to be changed about the books but AB has taken it too far! The Tara story-line is retarded, The jason-Amy one is worse but you have completely changed who Sookie is and why we all love her! That is unforgivable! There is a reason why these books are so popular! you would probably do well to remember that and stop butchering them! I'll just wait for ms. Harris' next book thank you! Good job wrecking a show that could have been so much more!!!!!!

If you DO want to know, you can get the real story about the next episode here. I won't post any info from there (I actually don't normally even read spoilers myself).

No I don't think Eric wants Sookie turned since there's no evidence that her powers would continue to work. I think he sees her as a valuable commodity and wanted to take her from Bill but also would rather Bill 'owned' her as long as Bill is under his aegis than that say the magistrate takes her for himself.

Oh, and I'm reading the books, and I think it's fun to see Alan Ball's take on things. It's so fun to not know what's going on!

You go, Alan. (please keep LaFayette safe, amen)

I loved last night's episode. I hate Amy with all sorts of hatey-hate. I mean, I have a soft spot for Jason and all, but he's dumber than a sack of taters if he stays with her.

I am getting more and more worried for LaFayette. He's definitely my favorite character on the show.

Ohhhh gurl he would've DIED if he'd seen Tara's ensemble last night, no?

I too hate the direction the series is going--take note AB. Sookie is not at all like the book. She's so whiny and silly about Bill. A key element---Bill's staking the vampire, Longshadow was just wrong. Ep. 10 and Sookie's reaction to Sam wasn't Sookie either. She has more compasssion than that. Also, I'm with the people who don't understand why she isn't "reading" Amy and the murderer. You'd think she'd want to know. Don't like the characters Tara and Amy, not in the books. People who have read the books want Sookie with Eric. However, in the series, Bill is the better looking and more sympathic character---miscasting maybe? If AB changes the murderer and if he never starts making Eric get together with Sookie, I'm gone from the viewers.

Vampalicious:
Eric wanted Sookie ~but Bill refused Eric's request.
Bill told Sookie about the Tribunal and told her to
"Stay away as it would have been a dangerous place
for her to be!~ Bill would have had to turn her~but
that is something he doesn't want to do at any cost"

Eric thinks that Sookie's "gift can be useful to him/all
Vampires in their businesses" but he was outvoted
by the magstriate who said that "humans are nothing'
but blood bags to serve us"

if sookie had gone anywhere near the Tribunal she would be DEAD.
