Episode 10: I Don't Wanna Know

Caught in a compromising position, Sam shares a secret with an incredulous Sookie. Thinking she?s been purged of her demon, Tara celebrates with Lettie Mae ? but goes off the deep end when she uncovers Miss Jeanette?s true intentions. Sookie has a disturbing revelation during Arlene and Rene?s engagement party at Merlotte?s; Jason and Amy debate what to do with Eddie; and Tara speeds into a bizarre roadside encounter that lands her in jail. At a vampire tribunal to decide his fate, Bill faces a harsh penalty for his offense, but the magister decides on a more creative sentence involving a young human named Jessica.

Three points:
1. Was anyone else surprised that the vampires held a tribunal in such an undignified place? In the book they usually meet in hotel ballrooms or at least private residences. They also had more than one judge at the hearings. I was surprised that they seemed to be in a junk yard. 2. Tara being drunk doesn't make sense to the story at all and the maenid wasn't shown for very long. If you didn't read the books, you wouldn't know what she was or what part she plays in the story.
3. I, too wish that Amy would die already. Jason is really annoying.

I still love the show though but I, too, do NOT want Jessica to be hanging around Bon Temps. I wouldn't care though if she worked at Fantasia.

Last night's episode had my emotions going up and down like a roller coaster once again. However, I am eager to see what next week brings after seeing the previews. I was a little pissed when I saw Sam & Sookie making out on the couch with Bill peeking through the window. My heart went out to him. My thoughts on the very last episode of the season...it would not suprise me if they did a really big cliff hanger of Sookie asking Bill to turn her so that she could live with him in his world. Of course, they would end it there until next season since that's how every episode seems to end. With you biting your nails. Either way, I have really enjoyed this series. I have never been a big fan of vampires but I have to tell you, Bill can bite me anytime! LOL I am a true fan and can't wait for season 2!

I agree that this was my least favorite episode. It did seem short. I am sad that there are only 2 episodes left of the season. As for Bill turning Jessica he really didn't seem to have a choice, if he hadn't all the other vampires there would have did far worse to her, they were not going to let her go no matter what. I too think it was ridiculous that Tara was scammed, I saw blood on the knife. I like Sam but not with Sookie, Sookie & Bill are boiling hot together their passion & chemistry together keep me watching!

what is up with jason? I know he ia a Duffus with a capitol D., but my god...is he so unaware that he could not tell that what the V was telling him about Amy was so true...and now our captive Vamp is dead!!! that was so horrible to see! At first for quick sec, I thought she was gonna go for jason..but no!!! she killed the vamp. that was horrible. then ..worse yet, we are left hanging as to what jason will do to her. or how he will respond. Seems like he will have to pay for this death. But why don't they show him retaliating in some way??? I cannot stand her character.. I want to see her in hot water for this.

I'm in the minority but I really liked Sookie last night. I found her reaction to Sam (which was pretty similar in the book by the way) believable.

She was fine with his confession...up until she realized he would have SLEPT with her without telling her. It's when the realisation that he wouldn't have told her a thing but would have easily taken her virginity while keeping her in the dark that hit her like a ton of brick.

For that reason I completely understood her reaction.

I felt horrible for Tara last night too.

And Bill's trial made me feel horrible for what he was being forced to do. You could easily tell that it went against everything he believed in and wanted.

And while I liked the episode, the lack of Bill/Sookie was very palpable. It sort of made me wonder how the series would work (or even survive) without these two as the center of it all for a long period of time...

call me crazy but to me it was another great episode. I just can't say anything bad about the story, i'm totally hooked!

I do have some questions .. like Eric. Is he the oldest vamp of his section? or of all vamps .. cus when he was introduce in the show Bill said "..he is the oldest.." and it's obvious that many want to be him, and with him, many sweat him, a little too much I think; and at the tribunal he was really not that important.. i dunno..

The murdered is definitely a man ... is it Renee?! .. oh no!!!

Also, I agree with MsBtrfly:

[...I agree I have very mixed feelings about this episode but the entire series has been a roller coaster ride. I'm obsessed w/ the Bill & Sookie story (ep 6 was yummy!) so I feel like the apparent "split" is premature. And I hate the idea of her being w/ Sam. As for our darling Bill turning this new vamp...I hope Jessica clings to someone else, not Bill. It's interesting that the Maenad got introduced through Tara unlike in the book. For those that haven't read the book I hope the killer is known before the season is over. And I can't understand why all these fans are so in love w/ Eric. The actor is hot (as most of the actors in this series are) but the character is such a jerk! Does anyone else wanna smack the you know what out of Arlene? Sam should let her have her party but I've never worked anywhere where the boss pays for the food, liquor & band....where do those jobs exist and can I have an application?...]

Eric is not that good looking, and he is acting like a total ass. he thinks he's so special.. i cant stand him anymore.

Sookie, I feel bad, she's going thru so much .. if someone was out there trying to kill me and murders my loved ones along the way i'd be super grouchy too. plus not knowing what's up with Bill .. i just hope she doesn't pursue Sam anymore than she has to.

lucky Anna still gets to kiss him at he end of the working day! =P

I agree, this was my least favorite yet. There seems to be so much wasted time that could be better spent on the main characters ( Bill , Sookie, Eric). I had hoped that this was Amy's last, but she still lives on, much to my dismay....poor Ed.
Well maybe someone will take our comments to heart for next year. I still love the series!

I've read the books and I like their take on the story much better than the series after this episode and the preview of the next (even if the relationship btwn bill and sookie didnt go exactly as i'd imagined).

Im not thrilled with this episode. It is my least favorite. I feel like the majority of the Engagement party was a filler and not necessary to the episode. The only necessity was when sook went to fill the ice buckets and she sees flashes from the killer's brain. it just seems like they were short on time, so they added a few shots of Sookie alone, drunk guys and childish stalk-offs by sookie/sam/tara.

Also, what is the deal with Sookies attitude? She's gone from this sweet, innocent girl who just wants to be accepted... to this grouchy b*tch who can't accept anyone for who they are! Yet , she wants to be accepted by them... Doesnt make much sense to me. Shes giving everyone attitude and cold shoulder tactics. Saying things infront of those she's mad at just seems like something a middle school kid would do. Just to get under their skin. Its not classy or tactful. I'm starting to loose respect for Sookie.

Also, the voodoo thing was interesting; But now that they've discredited the woman so quickly, it seems that was also a filler. Maybe there was a hidden moral story in it about faith and how powerful it is... but it still seemed like a waste of time. Time that could have been spent on Sookie and Bill.

Now, the sneek at next weeks episode made me pretty mad. She's pissed off at Bill, even tho he only did what he HAD to do (again, her and her selfish attitude). He even says that he had to do some pretty bad things to get back to her... so why the hell is she getting hot and heavy with Sam?? That just makes me sick to my stomach - who the hell wants Tara's leftovers anyway!? She didnt even let the sheets get cold- starting to look like sookie is no better than Jason!

As for the turning of Jessica - a little silly for a punishment, yes... but its obviously something Bill feels strongly against -- worse punishment than being locked in a box, and he says as much. So, the punishment, for him, is effective. As for keeping her in the story, she wasnt in the book - so I guess the writers have some plot for her later on... or maybe she is just a punishment and nothing more. Certainly, you have to go to your maker when s/he calls... but your maker, im sure can also release you and let you be on your own if thats what you choose. Especially if the maker didnt want to be one in the first place. I'm sure Bill will have to teach her in the ways of the Vampire and get her settled... but beyond that, i dont see a point in having her in the show... unless they use her as extra filler for short episodes.

The last two episodes are going to seal the deal as to whether i watch the 2nd season next summer... I loved the books and I will always love the character BIll, and now the actor SM... its not his fault that Hollywood is screwing up a good thing!

Bill can STILL bite me any time LoL
