Well, he was certainly irritated but I don't think he was being rude. They are intrusive and he is probably just sick of it. How much patience can a man have, anyway?

Yeah, they kind of overreact, don' t they? Who knows? They were probably haters, in the first place, and are just taking this opportunity to get worked up over nothing. First of all, they don't know that he was lying about his mom and sister and, secondly, if he did, is it really that big of a deal? As Eric would say...a tiny falsehood. Not really at the "I will hate him forever" level...unless you are insane, that is.

Don't understand about the whole "lying about his mom and sis" business....but hell....Do you know how many times I killed off my mom (to prof's only) in college to get out of an exam!??? Even she still laughs about it!
