Eric Northman played by Alexander Skarsgard...

Just thought the most popular and anticipated character from the books played by the smokin' hot Alex Skarsgård should have his own thread too.

Eric is my favorite character other than Sookie. And I think Alexander made the character come to life this season. All the press was talking about Eric.

Beel and Sucky make me nauseous. I would take bad ass Eric any day of the week over them, hands down. At least he's interesting. Beel and Sucky are like vanilla pudding.

And that is what ab and his writers were not expecting. They were not expecting the audence would get AS portrayal of eric.

Look how much romance he has spooned feed us of sookie and bill thats where ab and his writers expected us to go not go after the eric character.

I don't know why I thought it was the other way around . . . thanks . . . 400 makes more sense to me and I like the fact that Eric is the oldest one we now know . . . adds something . . .

Glad I could tell you how to decide how to feel! :^O:-x

I agree with you . . . and it was different than the respect and submission he offered Godric - she is certifiable and he is being careful . . . IMO . .

I know everyone thinks AB has a huge man crush on SM/Bill, but my rationale has always been that AB has a crush on AS and does not want to share him or his body with the masses . . . .

Seriously...he doesn't know if Eric could love anybody but himself??
I'm sorry, but the award worthy I Will Rise Up, answered that question. Even last night's hesitant protest of not loving humans was forced, he cares for Sookie..he probably is feeling something he's never felt for a human in his life...and oh yeah, she's not even all human anyway, so...

but c'mon AB, that's ridiculous and short sighted to say! Eric is CLEARLY capable of love..UGH, makes me SICK! There's SO MUCH GROWTH for Eric to still have in season 3...this is making me lose a little faith about it now though, since AB seems lost on what has already been revealed about Eric in epis 8 and 9. Cripes, makes me carazy man!

I swear that AB is such dick that he takes our lusting to see Eric/AS naked as he only thing we like about him or the only appeal he has, when this is not the case. I mean yes I want to see him naked(we got Sam, Sookie, Bill, Ryan and even Mike Spencer but no Eric) but it's more than that. AS as Eric is just plain great. CH's character creation of Eric is as lovely as he is complex, and I do believe he is good. AB's portrayal of Eric is the only injustice and even then AS has the talent to try to blossom.

You used "awkward" 6 times! YAHTZEE!!! LOL

No, I get your point. I usually like to watch an episode a few times to decide how I really feel...I just really didn't like watching that scene...it was uncomfortable for me to see Eric not the one in control.

I agree . . . we wouldn't care . . . AS has really pulled it off and out . . . regardless of what the writer's intentions were . . .

Very well said. I agree completely. Eric is bad, but he's also generous and giving (i.e. when he had Sookie's driveway paved, bought her the replacement jacket in Book 4, sent her flowers while she wa sin the hospital in Book 1), and we dont' get ANY of that. All we get is BAD Eric.

Absolutely.

Yes he has. A lesser actor wouldn't have been able to create this much of an uproar for the character. If it wasn't for AS none of us would care, we'd just be like "Ehhh... typical bad guy"

I think it was meant to be awkward. Now, Sophie in the books is 400 years old, but I heard that her backstory on the show is 1100. Not sure what we are supposed to be working with.

If she is 400 - it would make sense that Eric is awkward because she is younger but holds more authority. That would be enough to make her awkward since she knows she must look ridiculous to him and physically, he has more power.

If she is 1100 - it would make sense that Eric is awkward because she has both the power and authority over him and that must be unsettling . . . especially now that Godric is gone. But I don't know why she would be awkward in this situation.

However, in both cases, I think AS acted the part, I think she just is . . . awkward.
