That is so funny since he said it after he pawned Jessica off on Bill. She must be pretty bad since he really wanted the favor (Sookie) Bill would have to pay him. This upcoming season should be interesting with her in it. Wonder if she will be one of the first vamps killed off with the "Sun" religion Jason is now into. And I'll be looking forward to Sookie's reaction to what Bill will have to tell her about Jessica.

This might be the right thread to ask - what did Eric say to Pam as he left Bill's house - was in a different language - anyone know the translation?

At the beginning when I was just watching the shows and hadn't read the books, I was cheering for Sookie and Bill to make a go of it, despite all odds. However, after reading the books, Eric is hands down, the better choice. He just seems to "get" her in a way that Bill doesn't or can't. Not to mention that book Eric actually does take care of her in ways that Bill doesn't even seem to think about. All things being equal, Eric has a position of a lot more responsibility, but seems to be more available when needed by Sookie than Bill is. Bill talks about caring about Sookie, Eric actually shows it. Someone a few pages back mentioned something about how the wonderful thing about all of this is how things are left to interpretation. I couldn't agree more. The scene at Bill's house before being taken to the tribunal where Eric agrees to go to Merlotte's to "check out the competition" could be left to interpretation (depending if you've read the books, I guess) whether Eric is referring to Merlotte's or Bill himself, as his competition. Another example is when Bill blurts out to Eric that "Sookie must be protected" and Eric tells him that it sounds like an edict but it isn't because if it was, he'd know about it. In other words, Bill couldn't be issued orders that Eric didn't already know about. It could be interpreted as desperation on Bill's part to protect Sookie, but it also could be interpreted to mean that the show might follow the books in this sense.

Eric. I'm not sure (Eric) how you get past (Eric) book four (Eric) without feeling it for Eric. But, at least (Eric) by book eight (Eric) you know enough about (Eric) Bill and Eric to know (Eric) that it's all Eric. Did I mention Eric? Yeah, definitely Eric.

Eric all the way.. What's his name. Bill didn't do it for me. In book and show.. I bet he hasn't even mentioned Jessica to Sookie.. So still hides stuff, even in the show.. Anyways, Love, Love, Love Eric.. Still goes after what he wants, like in the book..

Still Eric for me! > There is no question it is Bill. It is supposed > to be Bill. You fans of the books must let it > go. The show is based on the book, but AB is > creating something new. BILL COMPTON in True Blood > is not the same Bill Compton in the books. He is > absolutely fantastic, and I would pick Bill over Eric > anyday. Funny the same argument you posted can be said for those who insist on it only being Bill. It is fun to be flexible and listen to all the viewpoints. But of course this will always be a discussion for which there is no ONE correct answer. But it is fun seeing all the different ways we each enjoy different vamps.. I do wonder what will happen to the fans of the show if and I hope when AB does decide to pursue different choices for Sookie.
