I have not read the books yet, but from the show alone and not seeing Eric much other then that one show.
I'm on team Bill, and he seems more real in the down to earth level. Eric seems like the traditional vampire, larks in the shadows and isn't one to be gentleman like as Bill is.

hahahahaha!! Yes, I see. I'm still team Bill because I'm pretty sure that Ms. Harris didn't start this series because of Eric and I doubt she started it because of Sookie, because until Bill, there was nothing to write about Sookie. She started this story because of Bill. He is Sookie's hero and her soulmate. All others will pale in comparison to him.

Team Bill here and I'm defending. I don't know any normal man who wouldn't have sex as much as he can and with as much pleasure as he can. Also, given the fact that Bill isn't telpathic, unless Sookie said something, he wouldn't know how taxing sex with him was being on her. After all, he's not human. And he did apologise and accommodate her request for every 3rd night off.
As for the bad tasting blood, I wonder how many of us would be going down on our significant other on a regular basis if they had bad tasting *love juice* and that's what Sookie's blood is to Bill. There's actually a sex in the city episode where Samantha breaks up with a guy bcause she simply couldn't take the taste of his love juice.
As for not getting a joke, I don't think that's grounds to break up with someone.
As for giving Bill the finger when he claimed her as his, Bill was simply speaking in vampire terms. Sookie, by now, should understand that. So, the finger thing was completely rude and unnecessary.

Thanks this was very helpful!
I like Bill in the T.V. show right now, because he's so sincere with sookie and I love in the first book how he retains that sexual relationship with sookie.
BUT it sounds like I'm going to like Eric's character later.
I don't like the "look" they gave Eric in the T.V. Show though....

I'm just on Book 2 now and loving the series, so far still Bill.
Even after the betrayal, I still maybe prefer Bill and Sookie vs Sookie and Eric.

I did not ellaborate as i should have:
here are my points to why i like Bill
1. he tells her he loves her and means it.
2. yes he fucked up royally several times but it could be worse (some women stay with men who hit them and abuse them in many ways.)
3. he apologized when Sookie found out about Lenora
4. Although i would slap him if i could, HE DID TRY to provide for Sookie once Lenora made him be her bitch again.
5. HE DIDN'T GIVE UP SOOKIE when he was being beaten, he was protecting her while he was being tortured.
6. He has been a good guy even though ( i have only
read up to five but from what i hear...) he did come first under orders.
7. Bill really fell in love with her and was gentle and passionate with her.
8. yes he did ignore her a bit in book 3 but that happens with all relationships when men (or women) are abosred in work. (boyfriend does it every time he's working on his music, but he later makes up for it...believe me so please don't hold that against him too much
9. Every time she had been in the hospital, he was there and made HER feel safe and happy.
10. Although he was blind to how her finances were, they didnt exactly discuss them between each other (my boyfriend didnt realize how bad i needed help UNTIL AFTER he moved in with me...then i just tell 'hey babe, i need to borrow some money to fix this or to pay this...and he gives it to me. Though i do plan to pay him back one day...once i get in order. i have lost my job got one lost it again and now i'm in the union for MANDALAY BAY hotel and ill be out of debt in ten months!!! yay me! anyway...sorry went a little off topic...) anyway as i was saying, maybe Bill didn't realize her gravel was bad because he didn't have it on his yard and didn't know when it was good or bad, think of that one mon amies?

I like Bill a lot & actually felt sorry for him in the last couple of books. He really tries to make amends & prove himself & his love for Sookie...but....I'm an ERIC girl....all the way!!!! He just gets her not to mention the blood bond. After the revelations about Bill are made to Sookie later on, she will never trust him again. The hurt is too strong. For those of you who haven't read the books. Read them or get them on tape. They're awesome!

After Sunday's episode, unless AB makes Eric out to some sort of Vampire "Saint", it will be very hard for me to leave Team Bill!!!

ITA!!! I am an aspiring screenwriter and I believe I know what happened. Charlaine started out with a great character in Bill and a wonderful love story between him and Sookie. She had to create a powerful nemisis, which is standard in everystory. You have to give the star a more powerful enemy, so his triumph mean that much more. Hence, she created Eric. Eric, however, took on a life on of his own and she started to love writing for him. So, she sold out Bill for Eric. It's happened to me in movies. I've had several script analysis come back stating that I've given the best lines to a character that isn't the star.

I'd like to see more of Eric's character before I choose. The grand total of maybe 2 minutes of screen time with Eric was just not enough, compared to the screen time Bill has had.
But Eric gave me chills...and in very good ways!
