Hell to the Naw!! I know that they didnt kill off Lafayette! They need to redo this episode and kill off that waitress who was gonna marry Renee or someone else. This is absurd!

Hey there - first time poster here 
Lafayette is one of the most unique and well-developed characters I've seen on TV (cable or otherwise) in a while. His one-lines are priceless! Big loss to the series if he's gone. If he is dead, I wonder if it was Jessica (Bill's "child") who fed on him? I'd hate to think it was Bill - but he was hurting big time, so he may have been desperate. However, although that red-toenailed foot spilling out of Bellefour's back seat was definitely limp, the color was still quite life-like - so maybe he's just unconscious? I hope so!

Granted Lafayette does die in the books, I think his character has become to beloved.. and I don't think they will kill him off.
If anything, I think he got roughed up bad.. either by vamps because of Eddie (grrrrr Jason) .. or by the Senator's henchmen, trying to hush him up.
As far as the lady helping out tara, she is a shape shifter. She takes the form of the pig. Why, who knows, but she does. Sam knows her.. he is going to buy her off of Tara (That is where I bet that lady gets all her money)

OOHH... I hope Lafayette is NOT dead, he brings so much energy to the show.
In the last scene, there was a foot hanging out of the Andy....sorry, eeemm...
Detective Bellefleur's car... I'm sure it was Lafayette's.. there was red nail
polish on the toes and looked like dark skin.

I think you may be right about Bill and Lafayette, although I hate to think it. When Bill got to Sookie's house, he told her he fed - I was thinking "on what?" -- not Renee because they would have moved him by then and I don't think he went home to drink True Blood.
As for that small foot - no, I think that was definitely Lafayette, but he is not dead! He is near death but comes back. I think he is too important to the show --PLEASE bring him back - he is too good to let slip through.
What is MaryANN to Sam? - what power does she have over him?

This has been suggested, and I have to agree.
I think it could have been Mary Ann's pet wild boar. Lafayette looked down when he jumped up onto the trashbin, suggesting Lafayette thought he could get higher than "it". I think it is possible his body was thrown in Andy's car because maybe Mary Ann was pissed about Andy's attitude toward her when she was parked in his spot when she picked up Tara.
Or,
I think it is also possible it is Werewolf time. I think in the scene where Lafayette gets attacked, and we are seeing through the attackers eyes, it appears it is jumping behind a tree - which I dont really see a wild boar doing- as well as moving very fast, and if running on all fours could explain why Lafayette reacted by trying to get above it.

The second book is called "Living Dead in Dallas" that goes into some of the stuff you see on this episode.

This is EXTREMELY far fetched but I'm going on some what of an intuition here that its "Marshall." I know he got his head sliced off with a metal shovel, but I can't help but to think back to the episode where Sookie found out about Sam being a shapeshifter, and asked him what else is out there when he replied "you don't want to know." 5 or 10 minutes before finding out Lafayette was dead I got a rush feeling that might happen. I thought maybe that since Lafayette was connected to vampires selling V, would be a motive for Marshall, being that he's returned as "something."

I have not read the books... I have read that in the books Lafayette dies but also that his character in the book didn't have much of a plot but on the show,
I look forward plots with Lafayette. The whole plot with the Senator looked like it was going somewhere
and there was more about the character to explore it would be truly sad to kill his character off.
Please don't kill him off the show!!!!!!

so i know that in the back of andy's car is where they find lafayette in the book, but that foot looked a little to small if you ask me. maybe it's somebody else. maybe lafayette won't be dead, just unconscious. and there's NO WAY! that it was bill who killed him. i know he said that he fed but do you really think they'd have bill be one? i DO NOT even want to think about what will happen if he did.

You all forget that Bill was in a weak state and may have crawled up to the trash bin. After all, who/what ever it was fast forwarded to it like a vamp would. Unless maeneds travel the same way...verrrrrry fast!!
I really don't want to believe it was Bill, so I hope it wasn't; it really doesn't seem likely.
It is always possible that AB, after reading the posts of the fans in mourning for Lafayette, may just write him back in..after all I doubt the second season ep's are all written by now. So, keep the Lafayette protest going til filming starts again.
I am one who may quit if Lafayette is gone.

I never read the book, that is some sad news that he's killed. I agree 100% with you about Nelsan being one of the best characters. I just wish they would keep him, heck get rid of a character that doesn't bring any spice to the script.

SPOILER ALERT
Now that the season's over, I'll talk: Lafayette did in fact die at the beginning of book 2, and his body was found in Bellefleur's car. Let me tell you, this had better not be the case on the show, or I'm through watching! Enough already!!
Nelsan Ellis as Lafayette has consistently, and I mean this, been the best, most convincing actor in the entire series. What makes no sense to me is why Alan Ball would create whole huge plots in True Blood that never appeared in the books (Tara and her mother, and Jason and his pet freak, Amy, to name just two), yet he'd apparently follow the books to the letter and kill off his best character, and one with a huge fan following! Hello?!!

Heres my theory. With the fact that when Lafayette jumped on the trash bin he was looking down, I beleive now just an opinion that maybe it was Sam as the dog, its just a theory keeping it interesting. Also Sam was the first one to ask where Lafayette was so who knows, and maybe Sam is the hog bc him and the woman seem to knw eachother.
