Who Else Is Looking Forward to TRUE BLOOD?

As a huge fan of SIX FEET UNDER, this is one show I'm really looking forward to seeing! I'm hoping Alan Ball can do for vamps what he did for morticians!

Just keep watching! Yes, Eric is the blond (Viking) from the vampire bar. I think the 1st time we see Fangtasia will be in the 4th episode (9/28)

Once we get Eric in the mix - things will HEAT UP!! I'm thinking, even if I hate the show (unlikely) I'll still watch.

FYI there are promo pictures - including one with Eric & Bill http://alexander-skarsgard.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=43&pos=0

Yes, we old DarkShadow fans must stick together!
Barbanas was a "bit of the ramantic Vampire" even
thought the series took place in the present,, not
Victorian times.......Now if I remember I had to give
the series "time to grow on me" just as I assume
that I will have to give "TrueBlood" time to grow on
me also, I can't wait to see more episodes I'm
waiting for the show to heat up some I want to see
more vamps~I want to see a battle between
Bill and Eric for Sookie~ When the show's been on
a few months then I'll know I'm "hooked"

Hey Marlene,

Thanks for the comments about Dark Shadows. I too became less scared of Barnabas as a vampire. I think I was a "little" in love with him--lol. I remember the movies and that they were not as good as the Soap.
Long live Barnabas!!
P.S. After viewing the True Blood show last night I was a little disappointed. Too much sex and nudity. Charlaine Harris had just enough sex in her books to intrigue you. Sorry Mr. Ball you may HAVE dropped the Ball on this one - No pun intended!! lol

I don't believe you are refering to the same "first book" I read. The first book of the series "Dead Until Dark" pretty much starts out the way the series did last night with Sookie meeting Bill for the first time in the bar.

The books had sex in some of them but not all of them were graphic...not anymore than most books I read. I read a book a day and I read just about every genre out there....so really, this series is rather tame. So just throwing in my two cents here - it seems that they are doing more of a lead in to the first book because in the first book she is already seeing Bill, already having sex with Bill and (spoiler here) her grandmother is already dead. In the book the blood draining scene has already occured and they don't go into great deal about it other than to say she rescued Bill and that is how they met. I think the episode was good in that they had a lot of character intro's to do, I think it was a bit more sex than is in the actual book (except for book 4 which is the Eric book and boy oh boy is that a good one). I do think that the series will get better and better. And as for being like a bad porn...well, I kinda was thinking that the whole atmosphere was a bit campy and goofy....but the whole book series is campy and goofy too. On the whole I think it was well done. Oh...and the comment about them doing better about her breasts...I agree, they make a big deal about it in every single book, so they should have clued into that little (pun intended) factor.

WOW! My son has HBO, so I am sitting in his room watching this and finally had to turn it off and leave. He chuckled as I left, he is 18, and I guess he was surprised that I sat through 15 minutes of porn before I decided I didn't need to be watching with him. Beware! I have not read the books, but were they pornographic, too???? But then again, this was HBO....
