We have heard many negative things about True Blood being hard on Gay community...I have not seen this in any way; with the exception of the religious group that are like many real groups. I take that with a grain of salt and ignore the bias. My real comment has to do with Ryan Kwanten.. He has made my viewing very pleasant.. He has brought back memories of one of my favorite Falcon Studioes stars, now legend, Ken Ryker...Ryan favors Ken in all physical ways that are visible. I hope he has a long life on the series and will enjoy watching him.

Not a major Ryan fan but he is on Law and Order as a Marine accused of rape right now.

Well, this is non sequitur central. Jason the character might be homophobic--he's described as such in the books, although it's more of a distate maybe at what they do--but he's friendly enough with Lafayette. -- ~I've been glamoured by Bill Compton "You're cute; can I sit in your lap?"

Yeah but you have to look at it as percentages. All but one gay person has died (the senator) IF Lafayette is dead, that would be 85% I think. No where near that percent of straight folks have died. -- --Team Bill We're all a heartbeat away from forever.

What a strange thread--you start off with comments about ABs position on the gay community via TB and then praise Ryan's acting -- is there a message here? The whole point of TB is to expose the stupidity of bigotry of all kinds and AB and the writers have done a good job of exposing the hypocrisy and small mindedness of this backwater community. As to Ryan, he is okay but his storyline in TB took up too much time...we really did not need to go in depth into his relationships with each dead female to establish his possible connection with the killings--it just took to much time away from the vampire storyline.

I can see where some might feel that AB is harsh on gays as all of the known gays in the show have been killed (if that is Lafayette in AB's car) except the awful senator and maybe Pam. But really, he's also made us love most of them before killing them off (not so much Jerry nor his partner that we barely knew). With the exception of Jerry and the senator he's portrayed them in a very good light. I hold out hope that Lafayette isn't dead. It's not too late, Alan, even now. Even if you've written it already. You're a talented guy, you can find a way to change it and make it great. In my mind, he's in the Caribbean mamboing away the night..until we know differently for sure. Ryan is a very good actor and pleasant to look at for sure. After watching him on Geraldo I'd also say he's smart and far sexier than Jason. -- --Team Bill We're all a heartbeat away from forever. -- Edited by KasandraR at 11/26/2008 5:20 PM PST

Interesting enough, Eddie did mention to Jason that "Most of the gays I come across, they look like...You." -- "...and as he came inside me I felt him draw on the little wound." (Book 1, p 145)

I really don't agree that TB has been hard on the LGBT community, quite the opposite actually. A lot of people take vampires "coming out of the closet" and people dealing with vamphobia very similar to what the LGBT community has gone through. I really loved the moment where Vampire/Human weddings were made legal in Vermont.
