Here is a recap of the TB writers at the Paley Center last night. It is a little long but very interesting.

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/rant.aspx?id=20091028_trueblood

If you read the comment at 7:37 it states that Eric will be mostly naked in the first episode of Season 3.

There was a casting call for an eastern European woman to play a stripper at Fangtasia that Eric has relations with. The part only has a couple of scenes and lines

It would be my guess that this is the scene in the first episode of season 3, and that Eric does not have any idea that Bill proposed to Sookie. Sex is such a primal need with vampires, you just know that Eric is fulfilling his needs all of the time, without it really being mentioned so far.

I just hope Sookie walks in on them when she goes to Eric for help in finding her man. We will see if the little green monster appears, much to her surprise.

I believe you may be onto something. Eric, the creature that hates feelings emotions, laid his soul to bear in front of Sookie. On top of this, he still has to be in grieving for Godric. Losing someone you have loved for a thousand years isn't something you just get over in a week. I can see Eric turning to cheap sex as a means of not feeling the pain of losing Godric and not feeling the pain of Sookie loving someone else.

=t; OR ... AB might just be in tune with the fact that

I agree. It would ruin everything is Eric was behind Bill's kidnapping. It would be so bad on so many different levels that I simply can't entertain the notion.

Frankly, I want Ball to keep us guessing as to which vampire Sookie will really end up with in the end. The notion of having a love triangle where there are two viable candidates for Sookie's heart, both with strengths and weaknesses that are vastly different. That would be so much better than having a love triangle where we as an audience KNOW who the heroine should end up with.

She could drink his blood if it is a situation, as in the books, where Sookie needs to heal quickly and needs extra strength. She might hold her nose doing it, but if it were necessary, I think she'd do it.

Also, another thing that seriously bothered me is how is Eric going to help Sookie look for Bill if Eric is in Shreveport bedding Eastern European strippers? I really don't want the writers to mess with the story line about Eric and Sookie having to join forces to search for Bill, Eric with his backside on the line with the Queen for allowing Bill, who knows that the Queen sells V, to get kidnapped. Unless, of course, Eric beds the stripper just once before he finds out Bill is missing.

I could be wildly wrong here but symbolically I believe that Eric will hook up sexually with the stripper due to Sookie's acceptance of Bill's proposal.

This might be seen as the ultimate rejection to Eric so his response could be to turn to this other woman sexually. Afterall, AB's Eric has made it clear over and over that he is attracted to Sookie.

Lets remember that Eric took the ultimate risk by revealing his fractured emotional state on the rooftop with Godric. he was on his knees sobbing ...begging ... in front of Sookie.

So Eric has made his attraction known to Sookie (even resorting to a bit of trickery hehe ..love it) has shown her the most vulnerable feelings a man can show (crying and begging) and what is Sookie's response?

I'm going to marry your underling.

Fair enough ... and I'm going to fuck away my pain.

OR ... AB might just be in tune with the fact that most of America and half of the civilized world can not wait to see Eric naked ...lol

Either way I think Eric will be involved in helping Sookie find Bill next year. It is the entire second book so I doubt that Ab will stray too far from the CH storyline.

The motorcycle gang are just the bad guys necessary to preform the evil deeds on ... whomever

I just wonder if AB is going to continue using Eric as the bad guy by having him be responsible for Bill's kidnapping AND selling 'V" ... personally, I doubt it because if so, sookie will never hook up with Eric.

And according to Ball the fact that they will "come together" figuratively, literally?? ...is "fated"

Oh Alan ... you are the linguistic master of ambiguity

I hate you...lol

I do think that bill will NEVER be out of the picture for Sookie as a love interest. As unfair as it is the viewing audience will not accept Sookie going from man to man so Eric/Bill will continue to be the main triangle.

I do hope to at least have Quinn. Not so much for Sookie but it would be great fun to watch Eric's reaction.

Now that sookie is "engaged" to Bill will we see her drinking Eric's blood?

Hmmm ... I don't know.

Good morning peeps:

I was mulling over some of the casting calls and gossip we received yesterday and was thinking about the whole redneck, vampire hating, V-swilling, motorcycle club situation and wondering if it is a separate story line or connected to another story line. Here are some of my musings:

1) Did Lorena hired the motorcycle club to kidnap Bill? Doesn't sound very possible simply because one would think that redneck, vampire hating motorcycle members would have a hard time sneaking up on a vampire. Loud boots, and all that...;

2) Did Lorena hire this gang to torture Bill? Why would a vampire hating group go to work for a vampire? And possibly in the lair of another vampire?

3) Is the gang going to create chaos in Fangtasia? Is Eric going to have to deal with the rednecks? Are they going to wield silver and try to kill Eric, Pam or Chow?

4) Is the redneck motorcycle gang going to use Merlotte's as their home base since Sam is gone and until they decide on a game plan in terms of swilling V and killing vampers?

5) Are the rednecks buying V from the Queen? Could the Queen have used this gang to kidnap Bill, even though I don't think they could have snuck up on Bill?

6) Is the motorcycle gang connected with pu$$ylover9 in Dallas? Could they be connected somehow with the Newlins?

Also, another thing that seriously bothered me is how is Eric going to help Sookie look for Bill if Eric is in Shreveport bedding Eastern European strippers? I really don't want the writers to mess with the story line about Eric and Sookie having to join forces to search for Bill, Eric with his backside on the line with the Queen for allowing Bill, who knows that the Queen sells V, to get kidnapped. Unless, of course, Eric beds the stripper just once before he finds out Bill is missing.

there may be a hidden agenda in there, too.

blue My agendas are so hidden I don't even know what they are! This reminded me of something a friend of mine once said, she was a psychiatric social worker and she said "Motives? Everybody has motives."

Maybe magic is what animates me. I loved SM's body language in that scene. That was when I became sure he must have been a classically trained actor.

Sometimes I watch TB with the sound off and listen to music. It's a whole new experience doing that.

Hope you are getting better by the hour.

Yes, agreed. I don't see Bill as a bad guy either although I freely admit that he gets on my nerves a bit. In fact, I feel more empathetic to Bill since I read the books as feel he has every right to hope for Sookie's love just as Eric does.

yeah, I really don't see Eric as just a bad guy. I think he is just being who he is as a vampire but is more consciously aware and accepting of his true nature than others ...lol. I have taken people to task who try to black/white the Eric/Bill characters ... you know, Eric is EVIL ... Bill is GOOD or the opposite. .. (not that I think you are doing that)

The theories of Carl Jung, his famous Archetypes, his Mythos, his idea of owning your 'Shadow' and the unification of dualities/opposites, et al have been a very long and fruitful topic of esoteric conversation aboard this Railcar for well over a year now (it was a particular specialty of the sorely missed Piperpals). Every possible facet has already been thoroughly explored and discussed. For those interested in Jungian discourse and interpretation of TB, you may wish to bring up PP's earlier posts and happily wade through them.

Cheers ... I had no idea. I'll have a look. Didn't even know ya all existed. Feels as if I may be with a group of folks who are interested in discussing the actual analytical symbolism that AB brings to each show which would be way fucking cool.

I'll drop by more often.

Thanks, Marlene, I had a lot of fun writing it, especially the parts dealing with art. latbfan also posted the final chapter to our Round Robin today, and I hope you got the chance to read it. We kind of overwhelmed everyone by posting two stories in one day, I know, especially since both stories were so long, so apologies. It was a day for bombardment: we got casting calls and S3 gossip, and we posted about 12,000 words of fan fiction. It seems this day was not one for moderation.

Hajni and TMSmaestra:

The whole Czech Republic v. Czechoslovakia debate is rather irritating. If someone was born in Prague on December 31, 1992, they are still required to state that they were born in Czechoslovakia, as that is what is on their birth certificate. If they were born January 1, 1993, they must list Czech Republic as their birthplace. If vampires really existed, it would create a bureaucratic nightmare since most vampires that aren't modern would have been born in countries that have ceased to exist or the borders have changed.:)

Welcome, by the way TMSmaestra, to the speculation train. Glad to see you aboard.

Someone needs to notify Ball and/or the Ausiello Files that there is no country called Czechoslovakia and hasn't been since the dissolution of that nation via the 'Velvet Divorce' of January 1, 1993 (over 15 years ago). Yvetta is either Czech or Slovak. Mein Gott, I'm embarrassed to be American sometimes. The UK site, of course, got it right.

I agree. I've read the books, and find it is good to have an air of mystery in the show. AB chose to work on building an emotional attachment first and it paid off.
I also think that this scenario is a bit more believable than the the one in the book. Sookie isn't very comfortable with Eric or PDA's; and an orgy is more than a little PDA. I would think she'd rather ask Sam.

The better Bill appears now, the more drama there will be later. If they keep that part of the story the same as the books, then I'd say that Bill isn't really a bad guy. He's a victim too. But you don't know what the TB group will come up with.
