Terry's t-shirt / attention to details in TB

On the N'th time looking through episode 4 I took the time to read Terry Bellefleurs' t-shirt. It says:
"WARNING
Beaucoup Diên-Cai-Dau
I suffer from occasional loss of mental stability and become very violent with only light provocation..."
The rest is hidden by his apron.

Explanation for "Beaucoup Diên Cai Dau"; Beaucoup is "very" in French. Dien=crazy in Vietnamese. Cai Dau is "the head" in Vietnamese. So Dien Cai Dau means either "you make me crazy", "I am crazy" or "I'm having a big headache (trouble)" - and the whole thing thus "You make me very crazy"/"I am very crazy"/"I have very big troubles". Also, "Dien Cai Dau" is the title of a book of black poetry concerning the Vietnam War.

Also, I found that someone with the nick "BlackGun", staff member at www.thefirearmsforum.com, uses this signature:
"I suffer from occasional loss of mental stability, and become very violent with only slight provocation. The Veterans Administration has determined that both mental and physical harassment of my person may be hazardous to your health and well being. So stay away from my Donuts!!"

The page seems to be full of Vietnam vets, and the phrase "Beaucoup Dien Cai dau" is mentioned on this page, discussing the book mentioned and how others wish they could write that way:

I'm guessing someone among the TB creators are vets themselves (Is Terry wearing "BlackGun"'s t-shirt?). If not, someone has done a LOT of research to put a minor item in a few frames in a single episode..!

Love the amount of detail they are putting into these series! Who would think of putting the definition of Terry on his t-shirt.. ^^ Although - in the series Terry has supposedly been in Fallujah, Iraq - NOT Vietnam. (Though book Terry was in Vietnam.) Wonder if that's a series mixup or intentional? Is this all a clever way to advertise for the poem book..? Or the mentioned gun webpage??

Since HBO already are selling some of the other t-shirts they've shown on the show (Fangtasia, Merlottes) - will they be selling this t-shirt soon too??

Wow, talk about attention to details. Not sure if I am dedicated enough to the show to go through each epiosde frame by frame. Maybe these threads just aren't for me. Between peoples need to prove that they know what should happen next, and some of the rudeness I have incountered so far here, I think I might just retire from the threads. It was nice to chat with some of you. I'm sure you won't miss me too much. Good luck with t-shirt. I'll keep my eye open for it.
Good bye all. Good luck in all your endevours!

Pretty dang cool I got one of the words off the shirt but not all of them...WTG.

Well kinda funny about "guns" now it looks like they are going to be all over the next episode with Steve Newlin's arsenal LOL

BiteMeBaby:
There was an article about how Terry Bellefleur's
PTSD wasn't from Vietnam~ but had been changed
to Iraq as to make it more "revelant"~the thinking
was that many younger viewers weren't old enough to know what Vietnam was but knew about Iraq.

WOW! I can't believe YOU noticed all of this....
That's what I like about these boards, it's great to see what other people "catch" when watching the show and how they interpret their meaning.
Someone on these boards said that in last weeks show Jason said the word preMEDICATED when he should have said premeditated. I didn't catch it but I will pay closer attention when I see the re-run...

Anumet:
The change in Terry Bellefleur's charachter was intenational~ they wanted the war in which he served
in to be "more revelant/up to the period of the time":
hence the change from Vietnam to Iraq.
Don't know as to if/when HBO will sell the shirt that
Terry was wearing ~ or if it was just made for the
show???????
You can try this website:
http://www.trueblood@cafepress.com
they have all kinds of TrueBlood T shirts for sale.
