Things you Dislike about The Sookie Stachouse Novels

1. The exhaustive detail about what everyone is wearing and eating gets a little tiresome. EX: "Sheriff Dearborn who isn't a fan of mine was eating the Chili Cheese Fries"

2. Quinn BABE BABE BABE

3. Sookie's refusal to acknowledge her feeling for Eric and in turn all he has done for her.

Oh and you can also post things you like about the books. I will think of more things Im sure just give me a minute. ]:)

There are a few MALES that are on these boards~~~
But for the most part we're all FEMALES!!!
Don't hate US~Season 1 was "Male Heavy"
The gentlemen out there only got Pam,Arlene,Sookie,
Tara,Dawn,Maudette,Amy,Dianne,Taryn,Denise & Maryanne & Adele,Maxine:

While the women got: Eric,Bill,Sam,Jason,Hoyt,Terry,
LaFayette,Rene,Liam,Malcom,Reese,Longshadow,
Chow,Mack.

In Season 2 The Men got Amy,Maryanne,Daphne minus Denise,Dawn,Maudette & Adele& Dianne and
Ms. Jeanette

while the Ladies got Karl,Eggs~minus Reese,Longshadow & Rene,Malcome &Liam

Now Season 3 may/maynot be "Female/male heavy":
Depends upon who Alan Ball wants to bring onto the
canvas!!!

You all MUST be female. Here are some guys deadly serious about how much they love her looks:
Anna Paquin Syndrome on "The Graham Norton Show"

FYI -- these guys are -- from my experience -- a representative sampling of how men drool over her. Especially now she's shown her "bits" on TB

It's true that there is really nothing much at all likeable about Jason in the books.

I think the changes to his character that have been made in True Blood are a really positive improvement. He and Sookie are much closer on the show than they are in the books.

I think CH has written him like that for a reason though - as the books progress Sookie comes to realise that she really has no family she can rely on, after the werepanther/Calvin/Crystal mess she finally realises that she is basically on her own.

Niall recognised Jason for the asshat that he is. He has no potential to Niall, hence his choosing to ignore him.

Hi Aaine. Thanks for the input. I guess I have so much family it is hard to imagine having no one. I found I had to rely on myself, and do, but somewhere out there is my family.

I think that is why SS was so happy to find her ggrandfather. Not that she wanted anything from him except his company.

I am a big fan of the SS books. The only thing I can think of that I don't like is CH treatment of Jason. My brother is dear to me so I wish SS had the same. I don't like that Jason is such that the great grandfather (?) has no time for him. I don't think CH treatment of Jason serves any purpose.

I don't have a problem with AP's "GAP". I'm older and one of my favorite models was Lauren Hutton and she has a gap (true, she had a removable fix which she used while modeling).

In case you don't have it, here is a link to Eros Ashima's writing, she also goes by Eripmav and her stuff is helping quite a few of us during the hiatus. Try it, I like her better than CH.

I've just recently finished reading all nine books...I have to say I'm pretty much so in agreement with a number of odd quirks Sookie and the author both have...

I was about to go nuts over the topography word...Once great descriptive, twice..okay, I'll cut you some slack...but damn..three times in different books and I think we were witnessing the birth of a serial word cult!

I also noted that Sookie is quick to point out others and their lack of tact, Amelia in particular, but Sookie might well remember people and glass houses. Her words and actions have often been less than stellar in the final result...

For me personally, the one thing I kept getting so frustrated with--Sookie's total inability to realize Eric's high handed actions, his take charge larger than life attitude were with him long before he became a vampire...She notes at one point you can the boy out of the Viking era, but you can't take the Viking out of the boy...I'm also curious as to when Sookie will start to see Eric's words and his mannerisms reveal his own feelings of vulnerability.

These are the beloved characters of Charlaine Harris and only she knows the where the roads leads and I respect that....Geeze!!! It's a long until May!!!

Mar, I clearly said in my post that I don't have a problem with her gap infact I kinda like it, I just don't really like that much about her face in general. I guess that is mean but whatever, she does have a perfect body though and she was cute when she was a kid. But most of my post wasn't about AP's smile it was about Sookie's stupid crazy smile

Thanks Ericrocks for clarifying that to Mar!

Geeze, Mar!

That gap is like Anna Paquin's trademark! She won't be "Fixing" it as you said. She also said she is greatly offended when people ask her about "fixing" her gap.

Camp was talking about the crazy smile that SOOKIE gets all the time, when she tries to tune out peoples thoughts.

There are some wonderful photos of Anna in a

That is the first time Ive found someone who is just as bothered by her "crazy smile" as I am, I hate it in the books big time but in the show it drives me effing nuts! I agree AP smile is not that pretty, its not the gap for me that gets me it her weird mouth, God I hate her expressions!X-(

That's so funny. Remember when she asked Eric after they had done the deed in Bk 9 if he would mind her telling him about her day and he says "i'm all ears - for now". For some reason I thought that was so funny and every time I hear or read the phrase "I'm all ears" I flash back to that scene and get a goofy smile on my face.

The point about using Eric to sell books is a good one. I've thought that some of the folks who make fan vids put him on the first scene so that more people will watch it. It gets me every time! Guess I'm easy when it comes to Eric and AS. I read the books for Eric and watch the show for AS/Eric.

The comment about bipolar waitress was in reference to the TV show and IMO she is much more frenzied on the TV show. But that "crazy smile" she gets when she's nervous drives me crazy. And you'll probably hate me for this, but I wish they had chosen an actress with a pretty smile for the part.

There was only two of them (well two and a half if you really want to stretch it) in nine books. Although she did give them length - both of them were longer and more descriptive than anything we saw with Bill (or Quinn....*shudders*)

The wait between the first and the second one was FIVE years lol.

Believe me, she's not going to hold our interest on that alone.

I actually thought the dialogue that occurred just after the sex (both times) was far more telling and interesting. The sex scenes were nice but the pillow talk really helped me to get my head around what is going on in their relationship. Especially the conversation they have in bed in DAG - lots of clues in that one

Wow ... five years? i read ALL the books in about 10 DAYS ..lol. I guess i didn't realize how far she spread out the "love" ...

In the end I think she is just using ERIC to sell books.

She feeds everyone just a tiny bit by bit of the HOPE of Eric and Sookie each year just to keep people buying the books. Personally, I just have no respect for that type of "artistic" manipulation.

I know alot of people around here just love CH and I don't mean to upset them but that IS my honest opinion.
