True Blood is based on books written by Charlaine Harris called the Sookie Stackhouse (Southern Vampire) Series. The series starts with Dead Until Dark and has, so far, a total of eight titles. Have you read any of these books? If not, will you based on the premise of the HBO series? If you have, what's your favorite? -- Sky HBO Forums Host

OMG I'm just at the end of book 1. I can't believe I read it in 2 days. I can't wait to see the rest of the book come to live in the rest of the season. This book is so good I love it. -- Look Ma, I'm vampire bait

And what > I am sorry to be so shallow, but the gaps in Anna > Paquins teeth were scarier than the vampires fangs.> I've only read the first book and am a third of the way through the second. In the book Sookie is described as curvy and very voluptuous. But ya know, I didn't really respond to that. It was too obvious and kind of a cliche. I prefer Anna's appearance to the description of Sookie in the book. Anna is very pretty girl, gaps in teeth included. Her looks are very authentic and makes her and Bills relationship more substantial for me . I love her as Sookie. > And please tone down the accents!! I have spent time > in La. and I have not heard any body speak like some > of those characters. Are there different accents for different areas of LA? The only LA accents I've heard were in the New Orleans area. And their accents were rich and very captivating. And ya, the actors on the show are little too twangy compared to what I've heard. The actor who plays Bill got close a couple of times. That said, I still love the show and the cast.

HUH. I thought she made a wonderful Sookie. Prior to watching I couldn't imagine it. After last night I can't see anyone else doing it. She's what I'll imagine from now on when I read the rest of the books. > I have read all 8 books and loved them. I watched > the show tonight and I am sorry to say that I was > disappointed. I have read all 8 books and loved them. I watched the show tonight and I am sorry to say that I was disappointed. Anna Paquin, is I'm sure, a fine actress, but Sookie Stackhouse she ain't. And what about that Tara character? In the books she was not black and not even that big a character at that. I am sorry to be so shallow, but the gaps in Anna Paquins teeth were scarier than the vampires fangs. And please tone down the accents!! I have spent time in La. and I have not heard any body speak like some of those characters.

ShiftrFan: You entered into the the realm of the Vampire: if you don't want to become "supper for one of us, please leave our presence NOW" You won't be warned again: We won't tollerate SPAMMERS OF ANY KIND~NO WE LIKE TO FEED ON THEIR MINDS!!! V**V We're coming to get you, better run there's a Warewolf breathing down your back!!!!!!!! If you knew anything then I wouldn't have to explain this to you, but true shifters can change into whatever they want and that werewolf of yours would be dead meat. Also learn how to spell.
