History teacher has a ring and he also asked the aunt to invite him in and she didn't. So I was thinking vampire but family or friend to whom? Interesting moon shot and his behavior you are right sounds were! -- Edited by Mila3782 at 11/22/2009 7:39 AM PST

I believe on the show, the brothers are also from the 1500's, as well. Wasn't Katherine's photo dated 1568 (?) In the episode about two weeks ago, Damon said that he was never tricked by Katherine, that he knew about her vamp ways along... and that he still loved her. I guess younger brother was tricked, and that's why he's not anxious to see her again. Camp --- I have been here all week; but I was posting on the other side, mostly discussing AS.

Malorn: I posted something how all of the series: TrueBlood,Twilight and Vampire Diaries seem to follow the same "formula of Vampire sent to watch out for helpess female in the town she lives in and they can't tell girl/human their mission" and someone came down on me for speaking my mind! TrueBlood is somewhat different cause they use the "vampires who made themselves known 2 years ago and are now living among Humans" Twilight and Vampire Diaries have the "day walking thing like Blad did~yet they utlize different things to go about it: Twilight's Vampires "Sparkle" That I so don't "buy". Vampires don't Sprarkle/ Vampire either glow or are almost like a hologram, you can see them but their not really there? Vampire Diaries utlize the same thing as Angel/Buffy: A magic ring of some sort.

But the back and forth of Eleana and Stephen is so boring. Enough already. Is it the same in the book....???? I might have to skip the books then...

But the back and forth of Eleana and Stephen is so boring. Enough already. Damon is the far superior vamp of the family. He's so dismissive to Caroline. And then he calls her mom, and saves her. Question for the book readers: what's the age difference between the brothers? Damon is the older one, right? In the flashbacks, he was in an army uniform. Maybe that's why he's always hitting more on the older ladies in town. And felt more love for Katherine. -- Edited by cadsarg at 11/20/2009 12:24 PM PST

I'm enjoying this series and I don't think its a Twilight ripoff either. Actually The Vampire Diaries books were written long before Twilight was even thought about. So I would think it would be the other way around. I enjoyed both sets of books, of course there are going to be similarities they are vampire romances based around teenagers, there are lots of differences also.

I had to go over to the IMDB boards and read over there to catch up what was going on..and now I'm so mixed up..gonna have to get the books...(but of course, lots of talk over there about how the show is a bit different from the books..) I think it was ericrocks that mentioned (a few posts back) that it seems the Stephan and Elena are pushing each other away every 10 minutes...and that's my problem..that's when I switch channels cuz I'm soooo over angst ridden vampires...then I pop back over and watch some more... So I am totally lost when it comes to the show other than to say..I too will get in line when it comes to having Damon's (sp?) babies!
