It?s sad that The Wire has ended production, but we can take comfort that it will live on in our hearts and minds (and DVDs). Over the last five years many talented people have contributed their expertise to the show. Let?s send the cast and crew of The Wire kudos for jobs well done! They delivered quality television programming that broke barriers, pushed the envelope and drew a steadfast audience of loyal viewers. -- Tim HBO Forums Host

You can praise The Wire for a lot of things, but in one are, no other show or movie has ever come close: the depth of the acting. It's almost inconcievable how everyone, from the smallest character on up was cast so perfectly. Not to mention the fact that at any given time, the show's various storylines required 20 or so major characters, each of which was acted to the hilt. Abso-fucking-lutely unbelievable!

The cast and crew have and will always have my utmost respect. They've brought realism, integrity, and stellar acting to all the roles from Mcnulty on down to the extra who sat with Mcnulty talking about Snot Boggie. Each 1 of the actors put there own special funk and flavor into the roles they played. The city of Baltimore also played a big role as well, why? Because it reminded us of our own cities and neighborhoods thru out the U.S. The roles reminded of us of ourselves or someone we know or heard of. David Simon has created a masterpiece and it will not be forgotten 10 days from now or 10 years from now. So to the greatest cast and the greatest crew Congraulations and a tip of my hat goes out to you all.

All aspects of this show were great. The depths and details that it explores is simply amazing. It was great to see how this world is really put together and how it works (or doesn't work depending on how you look at it). What to say about the cast..."amazing" hardly covers it. From Andre Royo to Wood Harris to Dominic West to Lance Reddick...I could go on and on. The writing and acting were top-notch, and it's ashame that all television shows can't seem to achieve the quality of The Wire.

I think this was the best show for several reason. It had some of the best actors in the world on the show. They didnt go, and rightfully so, for the star/name actors which allowed us to concentrate on the characters and in turn made stars in the process. While it is easy to concentrate and discuss the 'hood end of the story and argue about who was more gangster and who was a snitch, which I have done, when you pull yourself out of that and look at the whole picture it should leave you feeling unsettled and angry. You will see how gangsta has taken generations of people to their early grave and jail and the cycle continues. Also, I got to see how the institutions that are in place that are supposed to help or curtail the problem only add to it in alot of ways. I've learned alot about politics, police institutions, the drug trade on the small and international level from this one show than anything else I've seen. So props to the actors, crew, the writers and the producers for telling the story for 5 seasons. I dont think I will ever see a series like this again.
