Marlo forges an alliance with a drug connect, who shows him a new communications trick. McNulty's case gets increased attention from the newspaper, in large part thanks to the addition of Templeton to the reporting team.

P.S. If I'm Chris, partner or no partner, I don't bring that snake charmer, Marlo, anywhere near my family.

I agree JF23, Marlo is an idiot about everything not concerning drug dealing and murder; however, if he in fact leaves the planning of hits to Chris, he is keeping himself out of a murder conspiracy in the event Chris does not cnitch. Plus, remember in Season 4 when they started pulling the bodies out of the vacants? Marlo and Chris had a meeting, and Marlo said something to the affect of, "they're pulling YOUR WORK out of those vacants." Marlo is already holding Chris solely culpable for the bodies. Prior to the introduction of Chris' family, I thought when the shoe eventually dropd, he would stand up. I thought Snoop would be the one singing. However, seeing how much he loves his family, and knowing he may or may not have been molested, he is no bet to "stand up." Makes you appreciate WeeBay even more. If they had of brought him more food, he would have copped to the kennedy assasination. That man was a soldier. "WeeBay walked in Jessup a man, and he gonna walk out a man, but you out here wearin' his name, actin' a bitch." D'Londa

They haven't been on strike that long have they?

Unfortunately, the final season is only 10 episodes long due to the writer's strike. Simon & Co. had to tie everything up sooner than they wanted to. As we all know, they prefer to take their time and flesh everything out. It's too bad. The quality and integrity of the show has taken a slight hit this season. Don't get me wrong, it's still great television.

First and foremost - I'm in boston and I'm in mourning for the hot crap of a thing call the perfect season but I ALSO wanted to give much props to the Gmen for doing their thing! I talk a lot of sports shyt, so I need to give props where props is due and the Giants spanked out azzes on sunday! Now business.. Okay, so I'm a huge fan of the wire and I get on here almost everyday and read what you guys have to say and usually I just talk to the computer (as if we're all in a room) but that ain't gonna work today cuz I don see Omar flying.. Okay so first, I just want to say, everything we know about Marlo is that he's ruthless, he doesn't have an inner "code" and now we are starting to learn that he's somewhat ignorant (i.e., not knowing how to "clean" drug money, get a passport, get a bank deposit, he doens't know how to text msg) so he doesn't have a head for average shyt that mf'ers knows! This may be one of his downfalls - his ignorance OR this could be where Dukie finds his job..remember Mike said "your smart like that"! We also found out in this episode that he doesn't even plan his own hits (chris saying "Now you've made your move, I have to make my move)..to me thats leaving an opening for a takeover.. Something to think about.. Secondly, I thought I saw some shadow on the side of the building, I mean has been sitting out there staring at the building for the past week or more, so I"m sure he knows the number of bricks that lead up to the condo he wants.. one summer I spent down south, I fell from one of the lofts in the grandmothers barn (which was about three stories)..I walked away (albeit gingerly), but like two days later I had to admit what happened cuz my wrist was hurting so bad I wasn't even playing and I turned out I fractured it. SO Yes it possible to survive high falls and stuff but there is gonna be injury of some sort... let see what omars is..

Peace, What's good to all my fellow Wire fans and fiends alike. I have not posted in a few days because I have been basking in the afterglow of the smackdown my beloved NY Giants put on Tom Brady aka Mr. Perfect and the diabolical, so-called genius better know as our former defensive coordinator, Bill Belichick. I had flashbacks to 1987 and staying up past bedtime watching a coked out LT and Harry Carson chase Elway around. Like my man Marlo, Big Blue is definitely wearing that crown on their heads. Aight, back to the business at hand. Omar doing the Soulja Boy off that balcony is unrealistic to me. Omar is my dude, but I think the writer's are getting a little carried away with his abilty. With all that firepower coming at him, he should have atleast took a flesh wound. Much respect to Marlo for continuing to punk those fake ass drug dealers better known as the Co-op aka Wanksta Inc. As I have said before, the boy is an egotistical devil, but he is pragmatic and about his business. The look on those dude's face's when he raised the price on them thangs was priceless. The lightskin dude with the big ass sideburns made a face that reminded me of Poot, lol.

OMAR IS RIGHT THERE! DO YOU GUYS NOT SEE HIM. HE JUMPS THROUGH THE CLASS AND CLIMBS TO THE RIGHT OF THE BALCONY. SNOOP, CHRIS AND MIKE ARE LOOKING DOWN BUT YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE HIM TO THE RIGHT OF THEM HANGING ON WHAT LOOKS LIKE THE GUTTER. GO BACK AND LOOK AT IT AGAIN. ALSO MY GUESS SLIM AND OMAR HOOKS UP TO GET MARLO.

Apparently Templeton is based off former NYTimes reporter Jayson Blair aka 'The Great Plagurist'. I like the way Gus treats him; he knows he's a fraud. It's obvious that Simon is sticking it to his old bosses at the SUN. Can't be mad at a little payback. And I know Omar is the greatest Gangster ever, but he ain't Superman...LOL. I mean, he still getting the drop on dudes 'hobbling' on a broomstick?? C'mon now... At the end of the day (a most hated phrase, I know), the Co-op is a dope business. Marlo has the connect and that's all to it. There will be no uprising against Marlo, no ridin' for ol' Prop Joe or Hungry Man, and only grumbling. Just business as usual, with a higher price on the product.

the cops are always using the term "mope" to describe drug dealers. What is a mope and where does the term come from?

Everything about this show is 20 years old. First off, all of the main characters are based on real people that the creator came in contact with while he was a cop. The pay phone code in season 1 was based on something Lil Melvin did when he was runnin B-More's dope game. The cell phone taps was done, i think, in the 90's and Baltimore was the first city to do it. And how long ago has it been since ports and unions played a major part in any city? That's why Baltimore, Oakland, Port Arthur and other port cities became the most unemployed, drug infested cities in America way back in the Reagan era. He's just taking things he dealt with in his past and trying to make them relevant now. Since the very first show. This is very true from the research I've found as well and I don't consider this to be a bad thing at all. Also remember that this show is on it's 5th season so at the time of the Port episodes Season 2 that was several years ago and those shows weren't exactly about the thriving port industry of the city of Baltimore. It focused completely on Blue Colar men trying to hold and corrupt a dying industry.

Those newsroom scenes are lame. Frankly, I think they slow down the series. And this bit about this out-of-control reporter is simply not to be believed. Does anyone think an experienced editor would not see some red flags about the phony interview with the homeless guy, the fake serial killer call's to the reporter's cell phone and the madeup quotes from anonymous sources? The newsroom characters are caricatures and I'm surprised Simon, with his newsroom background, would allow such sloppy writing. I think you statement is a little unfair here. Scott (The Reporter in Question) is a great writer and shows a lot of promise. Remember, he's not hot roding all of his stories, and you've always got the main editor questioning him but the higher ups are enjoying the publicity these murders are bringing and are going to bring to a dying newspaper. It also shows the paralels between him and McNulty trying to fake out the system to better it, themselves, whichever theory you subscribe to. The game is rigged. And McNulty and Scott the reporter are going against their "Codes." Bad sign of things to come!

So. What's wrong with that? I still find them relevant people still do drugs don't they. Not that I think that what you're saying is wrong you're right, but a good show is a good show.

Stringer was the man. One cool cat. Sucks when they get rid of good characters. I 'm just hoping Omar is in one piece come the end!
