Bunk returns a McNulty favor; Carcetti is forced to make political deals; Hayes talks to Templeton about his sources.

If you know anything about the streets, politics, or the media, then you would know, yes, shit is real. That McNulty shit would never fly though. Would it?

I've seen a lot of specualtion about the name tag switch and here is my thought - the actual swtich was not to create a conspiracy(although it was a little sloppy with the 1960 and he was supposed to 34). I think the switch was just a mistake to be corrected and to allow the show to close the book on Omar. They always linger a little longer when a key figure dies. Bodie - extreme close up Stringer Bell - left his body there at the end of one Ep and the opening of the next. Wallace - long shot after he was killed. Frank Sobotka - long shot of him. This was their wrap up on Omar.

It was on the wrong body. I think it was just a last shot of omar. The zip of the bag before the music came on was a nice touch.

It has been a great five seasons. I don't have an issue with Omar going out that way, just tuff to see a G go out.

Interesting - I came across an interview with MK Williams (Omar) from New Yorker Magazine. It was before the season and the last question they asked was if there would be any major suprises. And he answered "keep an eye on the children, this year they take it to a whole other level".. That could not be more true.. Loved the character of Omar -but notice how he was bigger to the fans that to the other characters on the show...Notice how McNulty barely reacted to his death, he was anonymous to the newspaper people - story didn't even make the paper, and only Bunk actually had any real feeling about his death... THAT is the true realism to the Wire... Many of us have heard the stories of "Hood Heroes" but to those out of their world to the mainstream, they were really no one important. Your name may ring out in the street, but not even be known anywhere else.

good point. for most of the show, Omar was doing his dirt at night; laying in wait for days at a time. i understand it got personal, but he looked real sloppy at the end.

So Michael is gonna takeout Snoop, Kenard got Omar, and Duckie is the next Bubbles. If that aint poetic justice I don't know what is... There's too much b i t c h i n g on this board. Everybody is a screen writer now. If ya'll so good why you at home watching...you should be writing the great american television drama. But your not writers and even when you get a show that is CONSISTENT ya'll still b i t c h. Thank you Mr. Simon for great storylines, character development, suspension of disbelief, and the occasional pointless sex scene. It's been a great five seasons!

Granted, anytime they bring a show to an end they seem to get desperate to reinvent the wheel for the finale. I think that glimpse of Michael smoking somebody shows you they're getting their heart back. The newspaper vein...ah I can do with it out it. It's a push. McNulty has lost his mind and it'll be interesting who becomes the fall guy for this BS.

How Omar was going around just running around in broad daylight like that.Michael's little brother Bugg could have taken him out. Omar just didn't care anymore if he lived or died Butchies death was too much for him to take. -- orangemoundcam

You can't compare the two. Soprano's: Tony killed Chris? A black cat staring at a picture of Chris?? A gay mobster that runs to some hick town to fall in love with some motorbike riding pancake flipping homosexual that beats his ass first??? Yeah, dying while buying a pack a newports makes perfect sense. See Gang Starr; Just to Get a Rep....

I can not believe that HBO would loose one of the best if not the only character on the show, Omar was what made that show. Omar showed that there was another side to the real dope game. He showed the real side of it. If HBO sees or reads this comment of mine, bring someone back that is like Omar, bring some reality back to it. You guys have made the biggest mistake you have ever made. It is almost as bad as letting the Sopranos go. You guys need to listen more to the people watching. Remember if this show does not pick back up, i know that I will not be the only one that stops watching. PS: STOP WITH THE POLITICS YOU ARE KILLING THE SHOW.

WHY........... Omar wasn't supposed to go out like that. this season as been painful to watch. McNulty hasn't lost his damn mind and now it's coming back to bite him in the azz. i really think that Greggs is going to turn him in. it seems like every season they deviate from the streets too far; the series loses it's luster. i could care less about how and what the newspaper feels compelled to report. there is entirely too much emphasis here. since this is the final season i thought they might have tried to build on Rawls "little secret" or exposing Daniels past for example. but we are settling for shady reporting, shadier police work, Dukie relegated to riding a Junk chariot and super~bubbles, the reformed public servant. i hope that these last two episodes bring the heat and don't set me up for disappointment like the Subparnos
