Thanks to David Simon, HBO and the cast and crew of the Wire for the best TV series created. I am a narcotics agent as well 13 year police veteran, and can say with confidence that this drama has it right. I know all of the characters. I know the street and politcal power plays, and I know my world and that of the politicians and gangstas as well as the innocents who cannot escape urban blight are nearly the same, but in different universes. The best thing about it....ask any street kid or thug and he will tell you the same thing. I have heard more than once from kids an men on the other side of the law that "The Wire" is their show. Thanks for telling our story. Thanks for documenting a piece of American history.
