Episode 60: RIP - THE WIRE

It's the end of an era. Pay tribute to the personalities, city and show that changed the way America views "The Game."

EXTREMLY DISSAPOINTED BY HOW THE WIRE TURNED OUT.
SAD SAD SAD!

THIS SEASON COULDVE BEEN A WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN THAT SORRY SACK OF SHIT THAT WAS LAID OUT IN FRONT OF US FOR THE PAST TWO MONTHS.

IS IT ME OR DID THE SHOW END EXACTLY HOW NONE OF US WANTED IT TO.

GUS TRY TO TAKE DOWN TEMPLETON, YET TEMPLETON WINS THE PULITZER AND ALMA GETS FIRED, MARLO, CMON ON NOW WE ALL WANTED TO SEE SOMEBODY GO TO WAR NT MARLO GO TO JAIL, OMAR DIES, MARLO GETS RELEASED AND SELLS CONNEC FOR 10 MILL AND LIVES WHO REALLY WANTED TO SEE THAT?, FUQIN KIMA GREGGS TELLING ON MCNULTY AND FREAMON, THAT WAS WIGGITY WIGGITY WIGGITY *WAK*, NO AVON, WEE-BEY FOR 4 SECONDS, NAMOND PUNK ASS ON THE DEBATE TEAM, RANDY IS A THUG NOW, WELL I AM NOT GOING TO GO ON. THE OUTCOME OF IT ALL WAS WAK!

ONLY THING I LIKED WAS BUBS STAYING CLEAN AND THE GREEKS STILL DOING WHAT THEY DO, LOL ...

PEACE, LOVE YA'LL IT'S BEEN A PLEASURE BLOGGING W/ CHA,

NOW I MUST GO DO THE INEVITIBLE ...

*CANCEL HBO*

I was also delighted that they used The Blind Boys of Alabama's version of Keep the Devil Down in the Hole. Beautiful guys!

I hate to be a critic, I just feel that for a show thats not coming back for another season somethings are left out in the dark.

Whatever happened to Monk,Gutierrez, and Clay Davis. What happened to Marlo did he leave town or stay. I tell you this for someone who got caught on a 16 million drug bust he got a lucky ending. Should have caught a bullet in his conceded head. What was McNulty's ending walking the street as a cop or back on the boat. What about my boy who used to steal all the cars. Avon never gets out of jail all he did was violate parole he should be on the street by now.
After all Slim did say he wasn't meant to be a C.E.O.
Nick Sobotka never did get an interesting ending in season 2 and I guess Randy,Sydnor,Namond, or Cutty ever will.

However I will say there were some good, yet sad endings.
I knew Dukie was gonna end up on the street since season 4.Happy for Bubbles. Mike being the new Omar I'm not sold
on just yet, should have been Spyder that boy is just intimidating to look at. Please come back for another season!

I thought this was a very satisfying last episode. It was NOTHING like The Sopranos. The writers tied it up very well and the game goes on. Nothing ever changes in the city. I thought it was a perfect ending to a perfect series. Thank you everyone.

Ginger,

Unless that scene where Dukie first came to stay with Mike and Bug and walked up the stairs and saw Michael blowing the back out of what appeared to be a woman.....was really a man, then I would not agree with that statement

I would say that Michaal IS NOT gay at all.

"Is it implied that Michael is gay because he sort of becomes the new Ohmar?"

Please tell us you are kidding about this statement.

I do believe you can be a stick-up man or woman without being gay.

What a waste. I can't believe people are posting good things about this episode. It's almost as if the writers ran out of things to write. I thought it was weak and a big waste of a hour 1/2. Just as one other guy posted. it was just like the Sapranos.

"((((I love how "the game" just keeps on going...Valcheck as commish--brialliant!, Freamon back in the pawnshop, a new Omar (Mike), a new McNulty (Sydnor), a new Bubbles (Dukie), Slim Charles the new boss, the new mayor (Nerese), new governor (Carcetti). Love the judge and lawyer aspect for Pearlman and Daniels. Kima and Bunk still working murders. Great show!"

Freaman retired. When he walks into the bar he announced that he was a civilian now, and he put his papers (retirement) in that morning after 32 years. Shardene corrects him by adding and four months to the 32.

Some of yall might want to hit "preview" before "post":

Sippypowder - dissappointed with marlo not figuring out after the knowledge of the wire tap to press his lawyer more because he had to figure out herc wanted revenge.

Marlo's last thought was Herc using the number to give to Lester for the wire tap...hell...Levy didn't think Herc gave the number out and he was the one who brought up the illegal wire tap to begin with. Why be disappointed. He thought (as any other person in his position) that there was a snitch within his crew or close to the crew. You can't blame Marlo for that.

Omarsprotege - At NO point - even after Marlow told them he was responsible for Joe's demise - did the Co-Op try to take out Marlow.

Where do I begin...first of all, the boy's name is Marlo...not Marlow. Not every word is spelled like its pronounced.
Marlo never implicated himself as the trigger to the Co-Op about doing Prop Joe. What he meant by him being responsible is to imply that his war with Omar led to Prop joe death...matter of fact, he blamed the deaths of Prop Joe and Hungry Man on Omar.

Don't forget, on the way to the meeting, the Co-op said whoever got the lead on the connect is that one who did Joe. They had an idea Marlo did it, but they wasnt sure.

Did you not remember when Omar jumped that Pawn Shop owner from the Co-Op and took his gun and dude said "Omar, did you do Prop Joe? Hungry Man?" Omar just laughed and he said "Didn't think so"

See, they had an idea, but the would be violating code if they went at Marlo w/o more proof. Besides, Marlo was the only one who had the connect's info. If they off'ed Marlo, they would have to get their package from NY (that stepped-on-to-a-inch-short-of-its-life package).

This show is the best ever. I have truly enjoyed watching each season of The Wire. The ending really tied everything together and gave me a since of closure to my favorite show. Thanks to David Simon for bringing such wonderful characters in my life

One question--where is Avon? I thought it was interesting to show Wee-Bay and Partlow hanging out together in prison (essentially two rivals now probably working together as often seems to happen). But, what about Avon? surprised they didn't show him.

I feel sad that it's over, but what a brilliant 5 seasons. Thanks!)))))))))))

WHY THE FUCK WOULD U LOVE THAT, its a tradgety, its terrible, obviously you dnt know what the real streets are, what real people are like. its sad not good, its not good what michael is doing, its sad..get down to earth, u see these situations as entertainment, your making mockery of people who suffer these situations.

The end was whack like the sopranos. i would have wrote an ending better than this shit i watch for a hour and a half. just like hbo they fuck up series. and one more thing THE WIRE needed the full 13 episodes to get it right instead of the 10 episodes you gave them. xxx
