No show uses music quite like The Wire. Ask questions, offer opinions and make recommendations to fellow fans.

In the closing scene Mcnulty reflecting on the shoulder of I95, the "WIRE" theme song is being played. Its either season one or season two theme. I think it's season two, can somebody help me? -- "They can chew you up but they gotta spit you back out." - McNulty - Episode 15 - Collateral Damage

In recognizing the overall loss of such a great show, I started seeking out any videos I could find about The Wire. I found a great one where David Simon talks about the affections he feels for Baltimore and how the city has influenced his work. Check out the video http://www.visitmybaltimore.com/video/449/

I don't know who plays this season's theme song, but it's as nasty as this season is... comparing to the 4 others, what a shame !!!

I'm terribly sorry about this stupid question, shame on me, but what's the song in the background in episode 59 when (an excerpt from the summary) "Thomas R. "Herc" Hauk joins Sgt. Ellis Carver and his men for a "shift-change party" on a dead-end street in West Baltimore. Herc asks his friend about the Stanfield bust, trying to find out whether the cell number he lifted from Levy's office found itself at the end of a Lester Freamon wiretap. Carver won't confirm anything, so the two old friends have a beer."? Thanks.

There's also some great music playing in the background occasionally. For example 1) In S.2 where Nicky tumbles out of bed after drinking all night he hits his boom box and turns on "Search and Destroy" by Iggy and the Stooges off of "Raw Power". 2) When Herc is buying Bubbles his cell phone in S.4, the song playing on the car radio is "Be Happy With What You've Got" by Massive Attack off of "Blue Lines" 3) When Cutty is out running during the primary election in S.4, he's listening to Curtis Mayfield's "Move on Up" on his headphones.

We only have 3 people that made it in the Barksdale crew that didn't die or is locked up in jail after being a part of the drug game. POOT (my baby) Cutty, and Slim Charles. All the big dogs are gone: Bodie R.I.P. Stringer Bell R.I.P Wallace R.I. P. Savino R.I. P. D'Angelo R.I. P. Stinkum R.I.P. Fruit R.I.P. Avon Locked up Weebey Locked up Puddin I don't know what happen to him. Shamrock I don't know what happen to him. All of these guys played a great part on the show and I enjoyed watching them. The Barksdale Crew made the whole Wire.
