Omar Little R.I.P.

Young corner boy Kenard brings down the mighty Omar.

Make your eulogies for one of Baltimore's most feared men here.

yes that was Kenard in the alley with cat, and he looked down until Omar passed. Remember all the kids ran when Omar came but he stayed there looking down, Omar really wasnt feeling good because something like that he would have normally picked up on!

Here are my predictions now that Omar is gone... Chris if fucked they already got a warrant for his ass... snoop is going to get popped by mike, anyone could see that there's a difference of opinion between them... and with the code being cracked by freemon it's only a matter of time they arrest Marlo, and guess who's going to get his revenge, BARKSDALE, from prison... that's right... just predictions, lets see what happens

I need some clarification please-was it Kenard trying to light up the cat as Omar passed on his way to the store, because you see the cat go by as he enters the store. Kenard was the boy that Michael beat up in S4- am I correct or am I buying dinner?

Omar was the MAN! He lived by the code and died by the code. He never robbed the poor man. I almost saw him as a Robin Hood of the Ghetto. I was hoping for one more showdown, at least between him, Chris and Snoop. RIP Omar.

Man MONEY DON'T HAVE OWNERS, ONLY SPENDERS!!!!
one of the many great quotes by Omar......ITs funny because I totally hated Omar n Season 1, but as time went on...I realized..."A MAn GOT TO HAVE A CODE!!!" and he lived by his code...TO me he's the best character, String was String but he didn't have a CoDE, Avon lost his in Season 3 and Omar lost his this Season. In the back of my mind i knew that it would be to good to be true, the writers wasn't gonna let him get back at Marlo like he did the Barksdales, just wasn't gonna happen. I'm still sad but I've come to realize that it was only a child who could get him anyways....He never saw it coming. Kinard thought Omar was superman only to see him on his last leg literally and realize that "there is no Santa Clause" or "Superman is not real"....He did what no man, barksdale or Stanfield could do....Get to the greatest character on TV....RIP

For my heart is truly broken, how in the world can you writers take away the blessed token name OMAR...for this guy carried the screen as he brought his undeniable presence to the scene. OMAR DEVONE LITTLE please know that the WIRE will be lost without you on the SHOW! I am still in shock and cannot believe that the little boy killed you for no reason indeed!

WATCH OMAR'S PREQUIL ON YOUTUBE from when he was a kid his brother is in it and he was mentioned one time in the first season. I honestly know Omar is dead but we have to think deeper than just talking about Omar walking regular in the store.

Exactly. This is how I feel. Anti-climatic endings are something we are not accustomed to because hollywood doesn't do it that way. They feed us exactly what we want to see, making it all an illusion.

I hated it when Omar got it like that. I wanted to turn off the show. I then let it set in over the week, and realized this is exactly why I like the show. It doesn't compromise because I want it to be a certain way.

Its just like this quote
?You want it to be one way, but it?s the other way.? - Marlo

Not sure what message they were portraying with that quote, but I take it to heart with the finale. We want it to be one way, but it's not. It's the other way.

Just like life.

correct:

Naldo was not in season 3 only season 4. It was Dante who shot Tasha by mistake.

Thats the whole point. This show is about trying to write true to life. We didn't see Omar shoot it out with Marlo like an old western because that would not really refelect life. His end was entirely deflated, because thats how life works.

Some of life's best and brightest get killed randomly by a drunk driver, or unexpected suicide. That's life.

We had all this build up with Omar and expected him to go at Marlo and his muscle with guns blazing. Instead he gets it while buying a pack of Nuupoats. He doesn't even see it coming, and then the camera pans to little Kinnard.

It's a tragic and unfitting end. We expected to see him get it in manner that fit his persona, but he gets it in a way that makes us feel empty and robbed,

Just like life. Death usually doesn't fit the life.

The writers had already stretched it a bit with the batman out the window scene. That to me felt like a little off what I expect from the show. When he died in that scene like that, it brought some oats back with the marshmellows in my lucky charms.

If you want sugary sweet the whole way through, then you are watching the wrong show. If you want something that trys to portray its topic as truely as it can, then stick with it.

I personally have liked this season, even though at times I feel like its not fitting how I saw it end. Thats when I realize, that is life. It doesn't work out the way we feel like it should or will.

If the writers wanted to wrap everything up in a nice pretty package and close the loops in a way that makes us all feel dandy and happy, they could have. But that would have completely invalidated everything they tried to accomplish in the show.
