If there were a Season Six....

If you could have another season of The Wire what would the angle be? Where would you like Season Six to take you?

THE WIRE SEASON 6- It would take place 5 years later.

Daniels and Pearlman are walking down the city steps laughing about how Mcnulty gathered the evidence he needed to close that case he'd been working on.Pearlman says "who woulda thought Mcnulty P.I./homicide consult",Daniels comments on how "As much of an asshole he is ,he's still one helluva police"
Cut scene
A close up of a corner boy callin for 2,the hopper goes around the corner to get it from the stash and from around the corner Michael meets him with a .45 to his grill "Ima need more than 2..feel me". the hopper goes around to the corner boy and says "Man that muthafuckin Michael got us again yo!!!" "Shit im fuckin tried of that nigga what's that 3 times in the last week, what the fuck?!" We see Mike in an undisclosed location lookin at the g-pack he just got "Im sick of this shit,I aint think it was gonna be like this"
Cut scene
Randy walks outunto the street for the first time in 4 years he smells the Baltimore air and looks around then he looks back at the group home that's stole his freedom and says to himself "never again yo,never again" he then gets into a car driven by a foster mom.
Cut scene
McNulty,Bunk and Freemon at the bar-Bunk explains to them how Sydnor is stealing surveillance equipment to catch this ring of thiefs that hang out at local bar. Bunk says Landsman the new crown prince of Deputy of op is pissed. They laugh about how he's like McNulty and how he pulled the same shit. Freemon tells them to come down to the shop later and look at the furniture for the new house Mcnulty and Beadie has, Bunk say's "So whats it been like...2 years since she slapped you with the ole ball and chain" they all laugh.Mcnulty says it was about time, anyone else want another sprite?" Freemon and Bunk make fun of Mcnulty for not drinking to celebrate Bunk"s promotion to Landsman old job.
Cut scene
We see Avon on his knees in a praying stance and Weebay and Chris standing outside his cell. He gets gets up and walks out flanked by Bay and Chris he nods and shouts to others on his way down the hall he stops turns to Bay, Bay says " Aight boss I don't wanna ya ass up in here again" they smile Avon-"No doubt baby,no doubt".He gives Chris a pound Chris says "Tellem i said Wussup" Avon nods and walks outside to the gate where he's greeted by.......Marlo and Slim Charles. Marlo says "Let's get to work" they all nod and hop in the black SUV as Avon grins in the back seat.
Fade/Music

That would be a perfect start.

HBO does need some more series television, LOL!! A close family member was a corrections officer for 17 years, and the stories he would come home and tell us!!! I believe that would make quite a compelling spin off. The Wire, meets Oz, meets Big Brother. The prison system although covered in the series Oz could take on the realness of The Wire, with the ever watching eye of the audience (AKA "Big Brother). The audience would get a no holds barred view into this world.

Let's face it In Treatment, John From Cincinnati, and other fledgling programming have left the audiences of Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, The Wire, Oz, Sex In The City (yes I'm including that show!) etc. in the cold with nothing to watch.

Law enforcement and the justice system behind the prison walls will also have the same themes that affect how things are done in the street;
Money
Politics
Ongoing Crime
Education (criminal or otherwise)
Redemption
Media coverage & hype
System wide corruption
Lack of true reform

It sounds just like The Wire right?! But unlike the series OZ, not dreamlike, or lucid...reality TV all over again. I'm not real big on re-makes or spin-offs, but I would like to know...
How Chris handles not ever being able to be with his kids and his woman again, does Marlo stay true to him and his family, or forget the sacrifice?

Wee Bay, Avon, Chris, Marlo (cause you know he gettin' bagged up real soon) are they rivals on the inside or frenemies?

Slim Charles conducting business in the visiting room with Avon, Wee Bay, and Marlo and Chris...with the guards taping the conversations trying to build a conspiracy case against the whole organization? You know they speaking in code...who can crack the new language?

Sex on the inside....prostitution....prison gay...is it real or are these men homosexual before prison? How do "macho" thugs and sociopaths justify homosexual relationships in prison? How does a "man" cope with the humiliation and degradation of rape on the inside?

"Youngins" what happens to Michael the first time he gets locked up for robbery? How does that change him and does he make it back to the streets?

How does Randy deal with a possible 10 to 15 year prison sentence for selling stolen goods out on the streets? (Every Hood got a Hustle Man, LOL!)

What does Dukie decide to do when faced with a long prison term or rehab?

Namond (the new Carcetti?) is on the verge of becoming a Corrections Officer graduating at the top of his class. Colvin warning him about the perils of the life and times of a law enforcement career, and trying to convince him to go to law school instead of a corrections officer.

Do Corrections Officers have sex with inmates? Avon dating a female officer? Chris desparately trying to pay off prison officials to connect with his family (Stringer & Clay Davis).

Remember Bernard Kerik (New York Mayor Giuliani's driver, turned pseudo politician) he started his career in the prison system, how did he steadily rise to be eventually nominated by George W. Bush as Secretary of Homeland security?!!! He was later of course brought up on ethical misconduct charges, a lengthy federal indictment, salacious & multiple extra marital affairs, using taxpayers money for his love shack and on, and on....(Could be the basis for a inside the prison Rawls character right?!)

How is it that there is a steady stream of drugs into prisons and why can't it be stopped? How is it decided who will be Kingpin, and who is complicit in the operation of the criminal enterprises? (Dirty Corrections Officers, Wardens, Governors a la Hamsterdam)

Examine the hierarchy that exists behind the walls.

Examine how big a factor race, class, religion, education, and the type of crime committed impact on a prisoner's treatment by the system.

The role of gangs in this world.

Just some ideas from the tortured mind of a Wire fiend........

maybe season 6 will work or a prequel. I do not know about a movie but there are end that are loose as usual. But are they worth bringing back. More than likely YES but it has to be some years before the wire comes back andmaybe work the jail, latino, or court angle.

But I would love to see how the actors would do with others show.

I agree! - HBO needs to recognize the impact that this show has had on people and give the people what they want!!! (but then again, i don't want to see some old thrown together version of the Wire that would hurt too bad - but if they would really sit down and get to it, like they did in the first 4 season's that would be great!!!!! :) )

Doesn't suck at all Avon11, anyone out there care to write a third or finish what Avon11 started. i think we should make our own season 6 using this forum to write our own episodes until HB-HOE takes notices (which is highly unlikely) or we get another forum to do this.

Just my thoughts, Peace

Man Rodni you a disrespectful human being!!! How dare you go in-depth like that and make-up a script!!! Nah, just kidding it sounds great almost beliveable. But Levy running for Gov...nah! Daniels running for gov...i don't think so not with Naresse in the mayoral desk with Daniels imfamous file and his distain for corruption. And Carcetti as president....maybe,just maybe that could work. You gotta give a day to put something together you have inspired me to make my own mini script. Peace

I say season 6 starts 8 years from now. Here is one of my scenario's from it:

Daniels is now a big time lawyer who's about to run for Gov. But his opponent is Levy who with handling large law for large profile drug lords, the business ties he's introduced then with (stealing their money) has made him one of the richest people in Baltimore.

It's a tight race, and Levy has something on Daniels, yes, that! When Daniels was in the Eastern. Daniels needs it to go away fast, but there's nothing he can do. Levy will use it against him and win the Governorship outright. Daniels, thinks who he can rely on. He first thinks to contact the Governor himself, but Governor Clay Davis has no love for Daniels, since it was Daniels wife who tried to put him behind bars 8 years ago. For Gov. Davis, he would love to see Levy as his successor, since it would keep the money train alive for the soon to be former Governor.

So there is only one man Daniels knows who can squash this. The only man that trusts Daniels, who knows he's a good man, who with his power can stop any information from the Eastern or anywhere else going out.

So here's the scene : Daniels is at his desk, and makes the call. We see a secretary picking up the phone, and informing her boss. Her boss takes the call, but we don't see him in the frame. The shot cuts to Daniels office door, where we see him speak, but cannot hear him. Then after the conversation is about to end, we hear Daniels say , 'Thank you Mr. President'. Then the shot cuts to the White House Oval Office, where you see the back of the chair with the President sitting in it. The secretary walks in and asks 'are you allright Mr.President?'. We only hear the President respond 'I'm allright". Then the President turns around in his chair to complete his address to his secretary. "Just some old Baltimore business to deal with during my Mayoral Days'. Then we see the President of the United States, Tommy Carcetti, stand up, look outside the Oval Office window behind his desk, his face stressed out, and saying to himself "Wish I was back in Baltimore".

[we later learn in the next episode that Carcetti becomes VP in 2015 when the the current VP is impeached due to financial mishandling ( how Nixon picked Ford after Agnew resigned.) He becomes President when the previous President suffers a Heart attack and passes on.]

There are not many Hispanics in Baltimore. It's probably less than one percent. I hardly EVER see any Hispanics here. The whole black/ Hispanic rivalry is a West Coast/LA/ Phoenix thing, IMO. There just isn't enough Hispanics here for that to be an issue, on the street or in jail.

If u think about it what would season six be about...Jimmy Bust Balls McNutty is contempt with his new life, Kima n Bunk running murders now, No More Lt Daniels,(sorry he gonna always be Lt Daniels to me!!!) Lester laid up with my girl lol!!!! Bubbles ain't out doin what bubbles use to do he's Reginald Now, Micheal ain't a kid no more he n the streets.... no boadie, no omar, n no avon, i can't stand to see him n jail, n do u realize the only person besides Joe that made it through all 5 seasons was Wee bay..... I think it ended while the going was still good, another season would do more damage than help... Reform, no jects, no barksdales, no B&B, no more propositions, no more stick up crews(well, Micheal) just Reform, full circle. McNutty should have been fired n season 1 they fired Major Colvin n his experiment worked..... Sad to see it gone but glad i got to experience it..... if season six was to come about, it should be a prequel to Season 1......

If you payed close enough attention you will have noticed that "circle of life" was completed by the end of season 5. Every character had resolution. Some for the better, some for the worse, but resolution....which is more than we get from most of our favorite shows. Take Omar for example: by far my favorite character, and when they killed him I was apalled. But after thinking on it, Omar had hit the glass ceiling as Bubbles would say. He single handedly took down the whole Barksdale operation, and was coming for Marlo. Eventually this of course led to all of Omars closest people being murdered on his behalf. With no one looking out for him his days were numbered. Kenard killing him at first seemed unjust, but its better to take one to the back of the head than to be "stuck and burned" like Brandon.
The show did a great job of completing the circle. Notice how each "position" was filled by another. Michael's the new Omar. Slim and Rick the new top dogs. Bubbles finally gets clean, and Dukie the new addict. From the perspective of the fan I say kudos to the cast, crew, and writers. There's a million reality shows out there but The Wire is truly REAL.
