Avon tried to parlay with him in an effort to try to get Tillman to lay off Wee Bay. Since that did not work Avon had to do what he had to do. I mean Tillman was doing dirt. Avon had no problem with that but since Tillman didn't respect the game. Avon had to teach him. Nah this was not a snitchin situation.

Seems like an old fashioned setup to me. As someone mentioned earlier, Tillman was trying to play both sides. Acting righteous and doing dirt on the side. If he had been all in, game would have recognized game. I'd argue that he would not have made the mistake of sweating Bey and alienating Avon in the first place if he were truly dedicated to the game. He would have known better.

For some reason, I don't see it as snitching. If they both are in the same world, playing by the same rules it would be. Avon and Tillman were not in the same world. Tillman is supposed to be the law abiding guy that the prisoners may not like, but that they respect. Not only was he shady, add asshole to that. Tillman seems like an asshole in every phase of the life, personal and professional.
I shed no tears over him getting caught because he was wrong and Avon being Avon took advantage of the situation. Avon is being punished (rightly so) for doing what Tillman is currently doing, which makes what he is doing even worse because he is supposed to be be the law abiding one.

the irony, though, is that as much as the show spoke out (directly and through not-so-subtle consequences) against snitching, Avon's actions were actually consistent with a lot of kingpins who suddenly find themselves without options. Only in the movies do they so often go out in a blaze of glory/fall on their sword/die with honor, etc.
The truth is, most will give you up at the drop of a dime if it means saving their own ass. Look at how many top guys wound up flipping and becoming chummy w/ the government.

Not.
It was a calculated plan to send a message to someone who wanted to play the game, but not by the rules.
My cousin, yeah, I'd be pissed. But, if you wanna play, you gotta play the whole game.
Tillman was doing wrong, and ultimately the responsibility fell upon him. Playing both sides will only get you caught in No Man's Land.
