I suppose if Tony Soprano can survive with a fade to black, then Avon Barksdale can come back and once again regain the throne.
I have a question: after Kenard kills Omar, will he become the little prince of West Baltimore? Surely Avon or Marlo would give him 30 pieces of silver for the kill.

I don't respect snitching but Avon had to do what he do. I was happy how it ended but people will be shocked to see who's running wid avon, now that he's back on top. he only was in two ep 52 and 60 but he slick as hell

stinkum ain't lying avon a slick dude the feds wanted davis bad because davis easily beat bonderman and the state of b-more charges. so lester made sydnor take the case to the fbi sydnor tells the feds i think i have somebody who can bring down davis and avon helps the feds to get out of jail

Like Vincent told Marlo during season 3, those who wear the Crown wind up in prison- Avon, or in a graveyard-Marlo. That is the life of kingpins. Unfortunately for society, those who do a short stint in prison come out with a Masters in Criminality, and those who do longer sentences then subsequently released earn their Doctorate. Avon, as a consequence of being locked up with Sergei Malotov-the Russain, now has a direct connect to the Greeks, where previously he had to go through a guy in Philly.
