Some will disagree, however......

In the grand scheme of things, Marlo is the smartest out of all of the people in the game in my opinion.

Ok. You can argue that he's too high of power in season 5 and makes some dumb choices. He takes out Joe, Hungryman, starts a war with Omar, mixes things up with the connect at first, etc. However, when you look at it, he gets out of jail, no charges, a free man. He may be too ignorant to stay off the corners, to stay away from the only game that he knows, and that makes him stupid.

Am I the only one who watched him calculate how to handle his business in the streets, make a name for himself, stay off the police radar, dispose of the bodies in the vacants, his war with Avon, how he got the chick who set him up, manipulate Joe and obtain the connect, and take over the Co-Op? The only person to get anything by Marlo was Prop Joe(with the card game), and Marlo still clapped Prop Joe!

Mind you, he's younger than all of them....
Just my opinion.......

I do not think so. Avon seemed to know very well who Scar was. If I'm not mistaken, he sent people to talk to Scar first (intimidate) him so that they wouldn't have to use violence. I think that Stringer or at least someone in the organization would have known what he looked like. Also, I think that there would have been mention that his name used to be Scar somewhere- and Marlo's street name when he is introduced to us is the quite appropriate "Black"...

Your idea is neither dumb or retarded. It shows that you are thinking about the whole show and connections between seemingly unrelated entities. And of course, I have no proof that Marlo is not, in fact, Scar....

Totally agree. I think of Bodie as your average worker in the real world. He goes to his office everyday, sits in his cubicle and does his job well enough. He's not necessarily the go getter trying to get promoted or the guy who doesn't care about his job. He's just taking it day to day. There's nothing wrong with that. I love Bodie, although I still harbor some animosity about Wallace's death, but he just wasn't management material.

Still he had been a corner boy since he was like 12. In the words of Kat Williams "if you've been selling weed since 2004 and you haven't bumped up to cocaine by 2007" then your doing something wrong.

That's not a direct quote but you get my drift.

I don't think that would happen. Bodie was like 25 and still working the corners. If he had lived I don't see him really becoming a player. I remember how hard I laughed when he told Mike that he would rise if he came under his wing. Rise to what? 2nd cornerboy in command. He had been in the game too long to still be on the corner. Mike was at the same level as Bodie at 14.

I think you both have valid points.

I do think, however, that Chris wasn't quite as enthusiastic about killing as was Snoop. I think that what happened in the Junebug house that we didn't see, is as important as what we saw outside.

The boy in the closet was bloody and there was blood on the outisde of the closet door. Either Chris or Snoop had to have seen him, because he was obviously not in the closet until after the shooting began. And which ever one saw him must've known that it was a child in the closet, or he would be dead. So, I think Chris did the same thing inside that Mike did outside. He let the kid go. Snoop would've killed him, imo.

So I think Chris killed when he was ordered to, but he did not take as much pleasure from it as Snoop did.

And he didn't think Mike a snitch, and he knew why Mike had to kill Snoop. I don't think he was angry with Mike over that at all.

And I can see Mike stepping in to help Chris' family once Marlo stops paying their bills, like we all know he will.

I don't think Chris was tired of killing. He was definitely tired of being on the run and not seeing his family. He just wanted to take care of Omar as quickly as possible, and he thought it was best if he and the muscle handled it. I think Chris thought that involving Marlo would have led to an extended struggle. While I don't see them exchanging words unless Mike gets locked up, it seemed like Chris was still cool with Mike. He defended Mike until the end. Even after Mike killed Snoop, Chris spoke up for him. My guess is that if they were to cross paths, there would be no animosity from Chris. However, Mike is unaware of Chris' efforts behind the scenes, so he may not really care to speak with him.

This is what happens when a leader puts up walls around himself and relies on one or two folks to relay information. If your people don't tell the emperor he has no clothes, he'll never know. Marlo met with Monk, Cheese, Snoop, and Chris. Chris made it clear to them no one was to mention it. When Chris says keep quiet, you do it. No one else would be in a position to notify Marlo. The Co-op wouldn't tell him because they hated him and it was in their best interests to let his name be destroyed.

That was me 85. And I understand that you see it that way, but here's how I see it -

Marlo made it very clear that there were people for the street level and co-op people to report to. Those people reported to Chris mainly, Chris to Marlo. Chris decided not to tell Marlo about the bitch thing.

Omar never called Avon Barksdale no bitch. And he didn't call Avon out on the street, he snuck up on him. For him to treat Marlo differently would be a tremendous insult to Marlo's ego. Chris knew Marlo would go completely out of control and he kept it from him.

Take the Junebug family for instance. Chris probably didn't want to go in there and kill a whole family because someone called Marlo a fag.
