Episode 60: Series Finale Spoilers

Quick spoilers, not scene by scene, but some details

Carcetti tells the department that they do nothing with McNulty and Freeman, because it ruins his chance to run for Governor. Daniels is upset and wants to go public, but Pearlman asks him not to because it will ruin her career.

Lester finds out the guy who was leaking the information (A character named Gary something, nobody important in the series), and he gives up Levy as one of the people who buys the leaks. He tells Pearlman

Levy and Marlo there's no bail for him or Chris or Monk, but for Cheese. Cheese puts up his father's house.

Bubbles doesn't want his story to go public

Dookie looks like a bum, and gets a loan from Prezbo. He says he's gonna use it for GED program, but doesn't.

Pearlman tells Levy they have him as the leak, because they have a recorded message with him buying it. They negotiate a deal: Marlo walks free (with his money), but if he gets back in the game, they reopen the case. Monk and Cheese do 20 years, Chris does life with no parole

McNulty tries to get Jay to pull all the teams because he says he doesn't need them anymore (At this point, Jay doesn't know the case is BS)

Scott makes up a story about a homeless man getting abducted. McNulty and police come to the scene, and find out it was BS.

Lester finally meets up with McNulty and tells him that everyone knows it's made up. McNulty and Lester are scared and wonder why they are not arrested.

There is a scene with McNulty and Daniels in the elevator alone. Nobody says a word, until the end, then Daniels walks out and says "To be continued". McNulty was mad uncomfortable. lol

Levy tells Marlo he's getting out, but he has to give up the crown. He's disappointed in that, and that Chris is doing life. He says Chris will is loyal, and wont say nothing as long as Marlo keeps his family okay.

There's a copycat murderer, Greggs, McNulty and Bunk on the scene. McNulty tells them that Daniels knows. Daniels and Rawls take McNulty into the room, have an intense discussion. They tell him to figure out the murderer quickly, it's his last case. They get the evidence and McNulty figures out the copycat killer in less then a minute. He confesses to all the murders. He only gets charged for two.

Marlo sells the connect for 10,000,000 dollars to the Co-Op.

this is running longer then I expected. Here's how everything ends up

Marlo becomes a business man, and meets with the same people Stringer Bell used to (The developer, and some politicians) with Levy. Marlo asks like he's going to the bathroom, but leaves and goes outside. He sees to kids on the corner (Looks like Bodie's old corner) talking about Omar. Marlo asks them "Do you know who I am" they say "Do you know who I am". One pulls out a gun, Marlo knocks him out, the other one runs. Marlo is stabbed in the arm during the confrontation. He looks at the wound, licks his blood, and smiles as he looks around.

During the co-op meeting (Outside) of how to come up with the money. Cheese says he got the 900,000 to put it over the top. Rick chastises him for the Prop Joe thing, Cheese pulls a gun on him and goes on a long tirade. Slim Charles blast him in the dome "That was for Joe"

They have a "fake" wake for McNulty at the bar. Everyone shows. Lester is there with Sharden (Still looking good, short hair cut, though). When they are outside they talk about the fact Marlo gets to walk (Pearlman told them earlier in the episode). Greegs comes by to tell them she loved working with them, and reveals she is the snitch. Lester is content, because he has retired, and wants Greggs to drink with him. McNulty and Greegs shake hands and smile, but he goes home. Very nice segment.

Michael is the new Omar. He robs Vincent and shoots him in the leg. He has a partner now. (Not sure if he's gay, but he has another shooter with him. Some light skinned kid with braids).

Daniels resigns, because it hurts too many people's careers to go public with the Lester/McNulty ishm, and since Narisse has the evidence to slam him, he quits. Carver (With other cops) gets promoted in his last act as commissioner

Herc is still Herc

Bubbles lets the story run, and they show him eating dinner with his sister and her daughter in the kitchen.

Sydnor is the new McNulty, he talks with the Judge guy that used to give them the Wire taps. And sydnor says "Daniels wouldn't know real police work if it came to his door with a warrant"

Weebay and Chris are friends now in jail.

Rhonda Pearlman becomes a judge. Daniels becomes a lawyer (He had a law degree)

The new Commissioner is Valchek (sp). Prezbo's father in law.

Alma gets demoted because she gave Gus information about Scott making up stories. Scott wins an award for journalism.

Carcetti is the new governor or runner for governor

Narisse is the new Mayor is looks like

Kenard gets arrested by the Homicide police

Slim Charles and Rick run B-More, they show them meeting with the Greeks.

Dukie is a dope fiend

Gregs and Bunk are still working murders

Dope is still running B-More

The end shows McNulty finding the homeless guy that he sent to the homeless shelter center. At the end they're in the car and McNulty says "Let's go home Larry"

Any other questions just ask.

My spelling is far from perfect, and my syntax also suffers at times, but PLEASE PEOPLE...

Stop Spelling Marlo with an extra "w" at the end....

You should give more of a spoiler alert...

I know it's in the header, but still.

Just a couple of things...

I'm not certain about Cheese getting 20 years. Cheese actually got out and as you mentioned, gets it from Slim Charles. I'll watch again tomorrow.

I thought that Sidnor was talking about Valcheck and not Daniels. Sidnor was acting like McNulty, but using all of the knowledge he got from Lestor. I'm convinced that Sidnor had respect for Daniels and knew that Valcheck was a Polish "schmuck".

At the very end, I was not sure if McNulty was taking the homeless guy back to Baltimore city, or if he was going to drive him back to his (the homeless guy's) real home Cleveland.

Let me tell you. I am SOOO glad that Slim iced that ungrateful idiot, Cheese. Although a bad person, Slim shows that there is still some lingering loyalty and sense of history...
... even among the thugs.

I am also SOOOOOO glad that there were no spoilers lurking in the forums when Muzzone and Omar got Stringer. That whole second to last Episode of Season 3 was truly a moment in TV history for me and the Mrs.

To the people that ruined the Omar's death angle for everyone and spoiled anything else just to do so:
I hope that something conversely appropriate and bad happens to you for ruining the critical moment of one of the last few episodes of a great TV show.

The Wire was my favorite TV show. We are pondering cancelling cable alltogether now that the WIRE is over.

How about a 2 and a half hour movie follow up to wrap things up ?

Did I over anticipate the finale? Yes can't lie I did...but am I disappointed? No, not really. From the beginning David Simon has made it clear that the real star of this excellent show is Baltimore itself and all the characters it encompasses are only caught in the whirlwind. If anything I would have like to see the story fleshed out over a few more episodes since this was the last and shortest season. And as far as Marlo walking and going legit, him approaching those hoppers on the corner just goes to show he can't leave the game.

During the montage the look on the Greeks face when Slim Charels is talking to Vondas about the connect is priceless.

too bad HBO can't postpone the finale and re write this episode cu it kinda succed. Not Soprano succ but close

The best ending for Marlo would have been him getting poked up by Weebay somewhere in prison then Bay spittin on him Bodie like then giving him a nod goodbye.

That shoulda been Randy with Michael
Funny how Dukie a fien now HAHA too all those predictions calling Dukie the next Stringer

Levy shoulda been shown atleast in the last minute wearing a orange jumper. That leak shit turned out to be corney as well.

Avon shoulda had the connect thru his sister with help from Slim
Bird shoulda came home after an appeal of his weak ass case.
Mcnulty should have been killed by the homeless guy with the cards
After insulting the Sun Rawls should hav been exposed as gay

loanking --- did the same to me -- was able to watch all of part 1, but 2 stopped in the same spot. Todou, or whatever the host is, is notorius for that. in a way i'm kind of glad -- less than 48 hours to wait now!!!

Alright, this has gone on for far too long.

Dude who was Marlo's bank is named VINSON. Not Vincent (the most common mistake on the board.

All told...

Re-addressing Marlo selling the connect to the Co-Op:

I just re-watched Season 4 finale. Slim Charles already knew the connect, and the way they were talking in the shop, it appeared that Cheese knew them as well. But definitely Slim - he was present when Marlo met with Vondas. Joe was on the other bench, with Slim and Monk there as well.

So, in addition to it not being terribly realistic that Marlo sells his way out of the game, even more so that Slim would stress over scratching up loot when all it took was his doing to Marlo what Marlo did to Joe - creep around the back then put one in his dome when ready to take over.
