Hey CS!
Don't despair. Instant relief is just a keystroke and click away.
The Marathon Thread was created for those like you who feel that there is still a lot to say about the Wire and are looking for a place to say it.
Here's how it works:
Each week beginning on Sunday evening we all watch the DVD episode posted and comment on it on the thread until the following Sunday evening. Then we start the next one. Seasons and episodes are watched in sequence starting with S1/E1 up to S5/E60. An Episode Summary is posted prior to the beginning of the episode discussion on Sunday evening.
Right now we have just completed Season One and are currently discussing S2/E14. On Sunday (September 27) we will begin our review and discussion of S2/E15.
There are only a few simple rules, guidelines, mostly:
*No personal attack posts are permitted. Feel free to attack ideas, but never the person posting them.
* We discourage skipping ahead of the discussion sequence so as not to reveal the story line for newcomers i.e. no spoilers.
The exception here might be to cite a future episode or scene to make a point about the current episode or scene under discussion so long as future plot arcs are not exposed.
*Any past season, episode or scene is open for discussion at any time. (Thus, even though we are starting Season two you are encouraged to post up about ANY Season One episode or scene.)
Discussion is pretty free-form and ALL aspects of the series are open for your thoughts including music, set design, acting, themes, plot arcs characters and the like. You are limited only by your imagination.
