Kima DeathWatch ( Contains SPOILER from EP 59)

Kima is complete and utter scum! To betray Mcnulty, Freamon and Sydnor the way she did is beyond low. Supposedly, there is an African American cop who dies in the last episode; if there is any justice it should be Kima.

Now behind my disgust for Kima; her death would actually fit the narrative. Simon has made a point that anyone who tries to be a reformer always ends up dead, broken or diminished in some manner. Kima broke the sacred rule of snitching on a fellow officer and as a pre-emptive to her supporters she didn't do it to serve the greater good.

This pompous, self-righteous traitor will find herself in a position of peril in ep 60 at the hands of someone who escaped because of her betrayal. She will call for help and officers knowing what a snake she is won't respond. In short, dead Kima.

Let the Kima deathwatch begin!B-)

I have always found Kima a little immature and needing to find a place for herself. This self-righteous behavior against McNulty is some kind of anger she has about being the female version and seeing herself.

This betrayal and not talking it specifically through with some confidante is way off. She is showing how naive she really is in thinking the messenger won't get shot. I could see her running this thing so that it gets stopped in another way. But does she think that they are going to give her a star for ratting. Her career is dead at the top and in the District level. I think that there were some things she could have done. One, was to talk with Lester. She just dogged everybody involved.

Its a double edge sword no matter how you look at it. McNulty is ultimately wrong because what he has done is undoubtedly criminal, but it doesn't make Kima right for snitching. She could have taken the Bunk stance on the issue. Just like the politicians force police brass to falsify stats to meet quotas all while taking away their means to do good police work, McNulty forced the city's hand with his scheme in order to get good police work done. He's gonna get buried for his act all while giving the politicians just what they needed with the Standfield bust and drug seizure. In a sense what he has done has been no different from what Bunny Colvin did with the "Hamsterdam" project and look what happened to him. Like Lester said its not the journey its the destination. Kima may not like what McNulty has done but after all that has been done for her she owes him more than that.

That "myth" was created to bring down a man that ordered the murder of 22 individuals; who were then dumped in abandoned buildings like refuse. That list doesn't even include the Security Guard, Ms. Anna, the delivery woman and whomever else Marlow would order dead at a moments whim.

If Kima thinks betrayal of a friend equates to stopping a murderous predator like Marlow she is even more despicable than I thought.

This talk hatin' on Kima is a bit misplaced. First off, The Wire is a show that shows a lot of bad things that goes on from episode to episode. We as fans are witness to drug dealing, murder, corruption, political backstabbing, truancy and the list goes on. None of this is good, however, The Wire does show every now and then a bit of redemption. Kima revealing McNulty bull$hit homeless redball shows that there are people that can look in the mirror and not what they see. Kima, as a cop understands that there other cops like herself that would be sick to their stomachs working a case that isn't real. If if was just a McNulty thing, I am sure she could have cared less, but McNulty invovled the entire police dept and the city of Baltimore in his myth.

Who was it to McNulty:

"Aren't you the little king of diamonds."

Reminds me of the song Desperados. The lines "don't you draw the queen of diamonds...she'll kill you if she's able."

The queen of diamonds being Kima, while different they are made from much the same cloth.

CYA = Cover Your Ass

I don't like or agree with what Greggs did, but I understand. By McNulty telling her, he put her at risk, and she's not tryin to go to jail for that shit. Further, she told Daniels, a trustworthy guy who probably knows how to handle the situation way better than she can.

But still, thinkin back on Season 1, McNulty cryin and shit while she was in the hospital and she does him like that?!? Damn. Fuck it, you're right. Ignore my 1st paragraph. Someone put a hot one in Kima's dome!!!!

And not even Marlo Stanfield is worth all of that. Remove one, another steps in. Meanwhile, the city is in even worse shape financially. It's a net loss.

Are you people insane with your hate for Kima? She did the right thing.

First, cop snitches dont get killed. As we have seen, Carver has been snitching his whole career. He got sergeant after snitching on Daniels. Herc is still alive and he snitched on Bunny. So snitching doesnt get you killed in the cop world.

Second, all you people who are saying McNulty was right, wouldnt be saying that if you were raped or mugged and the cops that would have been on the street or investigate your crime were searching for a homeless killer who didnt exist. People forget Mcnulty helps with OT only with western district guys, the other districts still use man power to patrol and investigate homeless murders, but get no help to solve other crimes.

Also, imagine if your family member died of a heart attack and you were told that he was raped, tortured and killed. You really dont think you suffered an injury? Kima saw what this did to families and thats why shes so against it.

Also, theres a reason we have the constitution and warrants, and McNulty violated our criminal procedure system. I assume all you McNulty lovers love the patriot act.

McNultys waste of money also is going to lead to kids having worse educations and teachers being fired. How can people say it doesnt hurt anyone?

as far a kimas character concerned I always thought the writers wanted us to think she was " one of the boys " I have to admit watching her snitch was shocking more so when she knew Lester was involed in the secret wire tap, if you go back seasons one - four all her coworkers treated her like a queen,
I went back to the episode when she got shot and to watch how her team responded was touching, go back and watch that scene everyone she told on was there that night. Carver, Mcnulty, Sydnor, hell wasnt Rawls even at the Hospital, sorry Kima this is unforgiven.

Now THAT is something I believe will happen. Her cop days are over. Even if there are some in the dept. who will agree with what she did, nobody will want anything to do with her. Then maybe she'll go back after her family, because her ex always wanted her to quit anyway. I don't think things will be miserable for her, I just think she'll feel as if she can't be police anymore...and she'd be dead right.

Kima has lost ALL credibility with me. I forgot about her little lies to get the paperwork signed when she needed it. I also forgot about her throwing Bubs to the side, too, after she no longer needed him.

McNulty did what he thought he had to do to solve the vacants murders and get Marlo off the street. But it all snowballed on him although he tried his best to divert police away from it so they couls work their own cases. The only reason that he did tell Kima was to stop her from wasting her time going through profiles.

And to also think that the one murder that she was working was also related to the same people that McNulty was after. She doesn't have a clue. Isn't it ironic?
